J-pop/rock Karaoke versions of songs
« on: January 30, 2008, 12:52:08 am »
Does any one know where I can get karaoke versions of J-pop and J-rock songs? Especially anything by Tommy Heavenly6, An Cafe, Asian Kung-fu Generation, Orange Range, etc (cuz that's not a kind of random list >> ). I have no problem finding most of their anime songs in karaoke version, but those aren't the songs I really want to do. : P Anyone know of any good sites? ^^

Well, I used to use eSnips, but they aren't allowing downloads anymore! xp So, I'm stalking YouTube and browsing Google. Sorry, but that's the only thing...Oh, and what Asain Kung-fu Generation songs are you looking for...?

Really, anything at this point. XD All I can find is their anime songs, which I love, but I'd rather do something else. : P

SOmetimes you can ask the artist directly...

or another easy way is to create it! If you have some basic audio editing software (like Adobe Audition), most have an effect that cut the center channel of song, thuse getting rid of the lead vocals. And if you'd like a karoake version of anything by The Slants, let me know and I'll get it to you!

Hope this helps!

I may try editing it. I know sometimes those programs make the song sound funny, but since I'll be singing over it all, even dampening the lyrics would okay. I'll experiment.

Sadly, I don't know many of your guys' songs. I missed the concert last Kcon, but I do have some of your songs. Haven't had time to really listen to them though. ^^; Thanks for the help, though. ^^

Try this site:

www.gendou.com

You need to register, but it's completely free, and they've got a lot of karaoke/instrumental versions. Instrumental as they may sometimes label it, is the same as karaoke versions.

also google search: Galbadia Hotel,

should be the first or second link

On the right most side, click "Mp3's All" it lists all the songs they have alphabetically by series. They have a lot of stuff too, like the harder to find stuff.

Hope that helps!

@Heero: Yesh, I know both of those sites. Haven't looked through them very carefully, but I will. Thanks! ^^

@superjaz: I really need to go there. I live in Eugene, so I'm not in the Portland area often. Haven't had a chance to go there yet. But when I do, I'll definitely look at their singles. Thanks!

I good place to check out for Japanese singles is yesasia.com too!
Shipping isn't too bad, and sometimes you can get a single cheaper than you would in store! And I've never had a problem with them sending me the wrong thing or it taking forever to ship.
Also, google around, because I know there's several forums specifically for sharing asian music and movies.
There are probably a few communities on livejournal too.
Hope this helped ya!
