For some reason, I can't seem to stay logged in, even though I check the box to do so!

I think thats what handles the remember me/remain loged in thing, and jaba script is used to paste in the smilie faces.

Your computer has issues, wasnt it you that had problems opening my link to my pictures too.  Must be windows XP 2nd edition, sorry to hear your issues with the forums here.  besides my prior suggestion I dont know what else to say, I am not even sure I remember my password now its been so long since I have had to log in.  I hate having computer issues.

you might also wanna try setting the privacy slider thing down to accept all cookies in internet options>privacy in ie give that a try

it has a pop up blocker build in tabs and is more secure in genral then ie

Can this problem sometimes be caused by dynamic IPs?

Note that the people who made this site wanted to be very careful about protecting the privacy of users and staff, so the server may "play it safe" when it encounters a discrepancy.
