Yes! And I will then play it until I die. And then I will come to life again to play it again and the cycle will continue until we all descend into oblivion.

Gah, I love that game already, lol

^ i think this will be the game that makes the psp worth buying

god of war- chains of olympus was really awesome and just as great as the first 2 even if it was on a smaller screen. but i think crisis core is going to be a bajillion times more awesome ^.^

you should try to get a psp sometime, the used ones aren't too spendy, but i bet they'll go down more in the next few months

I am completely and utterly disgusted with SE at this point.  FF was a series based off turn based combat...... NO MORE ACTIVE COMBAT SYSTEMS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

/end rant

I will no be playing this game either.  It makes me a sad panda.....

So you think a game's plot should be restricted to it's original format? That seems kind of narrow-minded, in my opinion. I suppose you argue against Nintendo for making games like Mario Party and Mario Kart, or even Paper Mario for that matter, right? Eh, I think the plot of Final Fantasy is the important thing here, not the type of game it is going to be.

To me this is the same as making replacing guitar heroes controllers with harmonicas or making Zelda and RTS.  FF1 - 10 were defined by there play style and that is what I loved.  After 10 it was no longer the same game.  By removing this element it lost the feel of the rest of the series to me.  FF has always reinvented the play system per game without changing that style and that was great.  ie job system, draw system, sphere system ect.

No, I loved these games.  But they also did not set a style for Mario they kept through every game then changed after 9 sequels and most of the above listed are party games and puts them in another category.

I always thought the story and characters were what defined FF, but then again this is only an opinion

I totaly agree if it wasnt for the story lines used in final fantasy 3/6 I probably would have never have gotten into video games as much as I am,
if we didnt care about the story line, final fantasy the spirt within would have disapointed no one

then again your talking to a girl who want a white mage and a black mage for my wedding cake toppers

agreed with all those who say plot and characters are what matter in a final fantasy game. i mean, look at all the rpg turn based games that didn't get nearly as popular... so what made ff stand out? great story lines and amazing characters. if it wasn't for that, i wouldn't have a jillion action figures all from different ff games displayed around my room (eve of abyss can confirm that) and why i continue the search for more. nor would i want to replay the games over and over if the story wasn't the best factor. i mean, how many times would you want to play a game where the plot sucks but the battle system was good? what would be the point?

whoa... *takes a breather* too much ranting... lol. guess it's just something i love so much that i feel i could talk about it forever. (and rodney/eve is with me and said "and i must defend it, like steiner to alexandria!" we are nerds, can you tell?)

and jazz, i totally want a white mage and black mage wedding cake topper too *dream sequence of awesome nerd wedding* teehehehe

aaaaaaanyway, this reply of mine is way too long, but i still have to say... only a few more days till the game is out *stares at calendar*

*echoecho* I agree, heh. I, too, like that mage cake topper idea. That'd be too cute. I'm curious, what type of mage design would you use? I like the white mage outfits seen in (and maybe these are the original designs brought back, I'm not sure) FFIX and X-2. The white hooded cloak with red trim, yes, very cute, heh.

This weekend I will be spending big money and I am thinking of picking up a copy if any survive until Saturday. I'll also be buying a copy of Silent Hill Origins for the PS2 and picking up my comic books.

So what is the chonological setting of this game?

woo! It is a great game thus far. I had no complaints about DoC as a FFVII sequel, and I have absolutely no complaints about this one either. The battle system seems daunting but it is so simple to pick up, and really fun too (not like that crap in XII). I have only been playing for ten minutes or so, but it is highly impressive thus far. ^_^

It is somewhat different from what I'm used to.  I'm leaning more to liking turn based combat better for RPG's than like this.

Oh believe me the PSP is pretty cool.  With the latest update you get Skype and Internet Radio access.  Plus they say that soon the adapter to use it as a GPS system like Tom Tom is coming here to the states sometime soon.  Oh and I finally found a program where I can take dvd's and anime I've downloaded and put it in a format that I can play it on my PSP too.

*whew*

Just finished Crisis Core and, simply put, it was a perfect addition to the Final Fantasy VII Compilation. I loved every single aspect of the game. All along I knew what would ultimately become of Zack (because anybody who has played FFVII knows what happens to him), but that certainly did not make the ending of the game any easier a pill to swallow, so to speak. If I have to use one word to describe the game: bittersweet.

And I still have New Game+ if I feel like playing again. w00!

I'll take some time off though, I reckon.

Agreed, the ending was sad even though I knew what was going to happen. The Nibleheim incident was so much cooler with these graphics.  Makes me want to play FF VII again.

New game+ is fun. It is awesome to kill enemies with one blow, having access to all your old stuff is fun too.

Oh I swear I must suck at this game.  >:(

The only part I don't really like about this game is the fact you can't cut through cut scenes.  I mean the first time watching it is great but when its just before you fight a boss and then die and having to see it again and die and then see it again and die....  As you can see you get sick of the cut scene expecially when it is at least 2 minutes long.

ACK!

*later that night :-)* Woot finally beat that big bad boss man.  Though I was scared with the thought that it was the end of the game.  But it wasn't.

Also we need somebody to Cosplay Beach Zak with his sand umbrella sword :-p *for those who have gotten at least half way through the game will know what I'm talking about*

Also was just reading that they are coming out with Final Fantasy 4 for the DS.  That should be fun to play too.  This game has really gotten me excited about the series.  I just wish they would remake a few more for the psp.

They really should remake the original FFVII for PSP with this battle system. Probably way too long for handheld though, but I don't know the PSP's capabilities so maybe. They could always shorten up the crappy beginning part in Midgar. The whole crossdressing part was boring for me and I hated it.

lol umbrella wielding zack... that would be fun >.O

i haven't even finished the game yet, though it seems everyone else i know who has it has finished... stupid work and schedule being filled... lol. i'm trying to work through missions >.<

i don't think they're going to remake ffvii any time soon, i mean, there was speculation about a remake for ps3, but i read in psm that it wasn't going to happen, at least not any time soon. and i liked the whole midgar opening thing, cross dressing included, it was a nice light-hearted part of a doom-filled game >.O
