If you live in Western Washington, try the Varisty, the Neptune, or the Metro.

Or try the official web site (http://www.gofishpictures.com/GITS2/main.html) to look for info.

Warning: it;s a really crappy site info wise. >.<

Edit: After checking the site, apparently Innocence will be debuting in Portland Oregon on October 1st at the IND Cinema 21, wherever that is.

That is the only scheduled Oregon release I can find information on.

Oh wow.  Awesomeness.  Here I was worrying about where that movie will play once it comes out and it's playing acrossed the street.  Yay!  (They seem to be willing to play anime movies quite a lot.  I saw "Vampire Hunter D:  Bloodlust" and "Cowboy Bebop" there as well....)

Heck yeah, I'll be there if I can manage it, though fridays aren't exactly the best day of choice for me.  Saturday or monday would be better...but guess details can wait until closer to the last minute. :)

I got vacation time I can schedule for the 1st hehe, and an impromptu cosplay get together would rock, but I need at least weeks notice to take off friday or saturday but sunday - tuesday work great for me without having to schedule anything.

Must print out a mapquest map before going I drove around those nightmarish 1way streets looking for the Marriot since I havent been there before.  Its bad enough looking for parking downtown, but when you dont even know where your going its even harder to pick a garage. LOL  I think next time I save up enough cash to stay at the hotel.

And I agree no tall hats please hehe

yay! awesomeness!
i am so excited about this!!!

beau honey. when do you have off work?

i work fridays, 4pm til 9pm.

so if we felt compelled to go on opening day, i would need to either go to a matinee that let out early enough that i could be back in eugene by 3 :45, or that started after 11pm.

if there is a midnight show for the debut, going into friday, i could attend that.

saturdays i work 6 am to 2pm, though, so a friday late night is not ideal for me.

sundays i work 4pm to 10 pm.

so, the saturday night would be good for me.

monday and tuesday are usually my days off (this varies). so those are options for me, as well. i don't work til 2pm on weds.

beau, if my car isn't up to speed by then, may i please ride with you?

anyone in pdx want to host some folks? or if i can lure some of my new favorites from the con in from washington, perhaps you folks would like to get a hotel room?

sounds great to me, honey. however, beau dear, i think i remember from terry's that you work late sat nights??

beau, if we were on sat would you need a matinee?

anyone else going from eugene?

anyone know if the bijou or anywhere else in eugene will carry this, and when?

perhaps, from an economic standpoint and to increase turnout, we could wait til the following weekend, and go en masse right from the general meeting? (i.e., go to the movie after 5 pm on sunday)?

hey! if the film is showing at the regal cinemas lloyd center, we could conspire to recon the doubletree while we're there!

well, personally, i need to try to find out whether staff are having a debriefing after the general meeting. (which, btw, i would consider a very logical suggestion.) i'll try to find out at tonight's meeting.

Here's the site with the release dates on it. http://www.gofishpictures.com/

Sadly it doesnt come out in portland till October 1st, but that means it'll be in the theaters still when we have the general meeting, so I was thinking after it's over us anime freaks may all hike over there and take over the place! *giggles* Just an idea.

to my knowledge cin. 21 does not fandango.  And you'll want to watch out as more popular events DO sell out there.

Uhm, and if it does well at 21 usually Fox Tower is the next place to pick it up. :)

Some theatres may only carry this movie for one week, so someone should check (call the theatre is my suggestion) to see if the movie WILL be showing on the 10th.

Oh, great movie by the way.  Just saw it today, and was struck senseless. ^.^

I live in Seattle, and it was released on the 17th up here.  But yes, I am a pirate, though I got my edition months ago, with permission, for a friend who is stationed in Kuwait.

Believe me, as cool as the Special Edition DVD will be, seeing in theatres is WELL worth the money, and it's actually a decent subtitle. (If there's a dubb, I don't know about it.)

Oh yeah, be prepared, Production IG is better at skrewing your mind than even Gainax could ever DREAM of! ^.^

It's on October 10th, after the General Meeting.  I'm driving down for the meeting, so i can probably swing by and pick you up if you live on the way, where in SW WA do you live? (You can PM me if you don't want anyone knowing.)

Thankyou Princess Frodo.....but unfortunately, I'll be out of the country on the 10th.  *cries*  I've got a class up in Canada.  Gonna learn to do voices for anime.  Exciting.  Anyways, that's a bummer.....I wish I could go and see it.  *pout*  If my class falls through (If not enough people commit to driving up), can I still get a ride?  I live in Castle Rock, that's between Centralia/Chehalis and Longview/Kelso.  ^_^  Does that help any as far as determining location?

If your class falls throug, I'll be more than happy to pick you up on the way down. ^.^

Oh, be warned, my truck has no cassette player or cd player, so there probably won't be music, and I'm not talkative while driving for long stretches. ^.^;  But other than that, it's all good. ^.^

if it turns out that the film will no longer be playing by the general meeting, i would come up the week that it is playing. it's just an added expense, of course. unless it's also going to be playing somewhere in eugene?

please note, i do believe there will be at least a half-hour or so of debriefing among staff at the end of the general meeting. so i would factor that into when we plan to attend this film.

separately, i'm also interested in seeing "hero".

Zenix is right, you could get Kumori Con into a LOT of trouble by posting that link on these message boards.  Both Dreamworks and Production IG could sue them for allowing the distrubutation of copyrighted property.

Talking about a subb and linking to it are entirely different things.

turns out this is actually going to be showing the day of the general meeting!

hollywood theater
on sandy
approximately northeast 41st
in portland.

it's showing at 5:10, and for those who have to get back up or down i 5 by a certain time, that might be logical.

however, i'll be attending the 7:10, with some folks who'll need to stay after the general meeting for the staff debrief thereafter.

that affords us a little time to fetch some yummie foodies in between! anyone know any decent japanese restaurant in portland, between the downtown library and the hollywood theater?

hope to see you there!

love,
rem.

ps apparently this was the first anime to be accorded "official selection" status at cannes, and was only the 6th animated film ever shown there. that's kinda huge.

it also says it's the 2nd anime from go fish, a division of dreamworks. what was the first? was it spirited away?

They released Millnium Actress.  Unfortunatly they flopped it by not delivering the film reels to some theatres, so I saw a fansubb in the theatres because of them. ^.^ (They also delayed the release of Innocence by putting the first subb down after using Babel Fish to translate it. >.<)

I wish I could attent, the movie being shinier than shiny and all(a very high rating from a Kender, I assure you ^.^ ), but I want to get back home by eight, and in bed by nine or ten.  Four hours of sleep a night is just killing me, stupid college. >.<

I think that movie is somehow cursed.
My girlfriend and I tried tow watch it three times, caffeinated and rested, and each attempt failed due to some sort of supernatural sleep effect.
It's not a boring movie at all, it just had this weird tiring effect on us each time!

Sucks that you can't come for the movie tomorrow.
I'm certainly up for it though!
I got paid today!  :D

Whatever you guys do, don't stand up half way through the movie and scream "Batou, why do you have Fuse's gun!?" ^.^; (The scene is in all the trailers, so I didn't give anything away, don't worry. ^.^ )

(My friend got kicked out of a theatre for doing that.  Fuse is the main character from Jin-Roh.  And I just realized that Kumori Con is the first Con in over two years that I have NOT cosplayed a Jin Roh Red Riding Hood at.  A situation that will be rectified next year. ^.^ )

oooh, i've always wanted to see the wolf brigade movie. hm, what, we can't rocky-horror-ify ghost 2? bummer.

(going to rhps the day before halloween, i think, btw; interested?)

tunac, the "totally un-named anime club" at university of oregon, just watched ghost in the shell in prep for innocence....wow, i noted some elements of the backdrop that were very impressive, that i hadn't caught the first time around....(it would be very spoilerific of me to be specific..hey that rhymed! ah, the joy of sleep dep.)

among the other things i hadn't noticed, were how much "the matrix" directly stole from "ghost"...right down to the opening credits! one of the tunac members thought that "ghost"'s creator contributed some of the episodes in "the animatrix"? is that so?

anyone out there have the soundtrack from the original "ghost"? it's hauntingly lovely. its eerie minor key sound recalls some of the apocalypse music from utena, but without the heavyhandedness and creepy lyrics
