I wanna know when you get them? Does anyone know? I know it outta be soon, but my dad mailed the pre-reg forms on new years eve and we aren't sure if they made it. Last year they had a list of who is already registered... anyone know anything about that either? ^.^;

I don't expect the badges to come out so soon (though I didn't register untill July last year)
And the list of people didn't show up untill the summer last year (unless I am mistaken, In which case someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Actually, last year the badges for people who registered before the New Year went out before now. The next tier of pre-reg's went out a couple months after that. They're running behind this year, for some reason.

I registered at......what was it....Sakura Festival, the one right after Kumoricon 07. I was curious if they were going to be made anytime soon, but not curious enough to post, lol

They're nice! I'm glad they're not paper badges anymore.

Ok so I guess I better get this out here.

As of last weekend we just got the registration system up and running. So we are now working on getting Tier 1 printed out. This will take a few weeks to get finished. As soon as we have Tier 1 printed we will have an envelope stuffing and send them out. We will also be printing out badges out at the Ball this weekend.

I dunno, but I'd like to see them too. I took my 07 one to school and people said that it was really cute, and I guess this years is gonna be even cuter from what you guys are saying.

I certainly hope you can take a picture of it! I can't imagine why not... the only reason I can think of is they want the design to be a secret, but people have already gotten theirs so the secret is out (if that makes any sense... I've got a 102 temperature right now and for all I know I could be babbling, heh). o.o

That sucks. 0.0 But don't worry, you made plenty sense. But also, someone might be able to take the picture or something and somehow make a fake id I think... but I don't think anyone would do that.

Actually the convention uses a binary system for authentication, a valid badge and a valid lanyard. I suspect it's theoretically only cost effective to make good knockoffs of both when you're doing it in the kind of bulk that would be noticed anyway.

That's also why Yojimbo, and staff in general, should more often then not remind you to show both.

Michael doesn't seem to be too common. In our convention we currently have only two, and thankfully one prefers to be called Mike instead. I remember a class (2nd grade) where we had three though. It wasn't a very large class either, maybe 30-35 max. Michael E. (and two other's who's last initials I forget.)

Though if you try looking me up in a public phone book... good luck.

The names that are common where I live, it seems, are: Jessica, Chris, Jorge, Jennifer, Ian, and Rachel. The spelling variations make things loooads of fun too. x_x ("Okay, is this RachEl or RachEAL???"). XD

Per my talk with the reg manager over the weekend, we'd prefer badge pictures to be taken at an angle to be harder to use in forgeries.

Indeed, it looks QUITE splendid.

The only real room for improvement, and they may have considered this, might have been a fuzzy sort of halo-shadow effect on the lettering (probably with a blue tint for it) to make the lettering easier to read where it goes over the white of the tail.

I don't think the white is going to be much of a problem. I think they look great. Thanks for sharing the image. It is always exciting to see what the final product looks like in the end.
