Planning ahead
« on: September 07, 2004, 12:27:33 am »
I'm trying to figure out what to do about next year's convention. I think after drawing 1200 people this year you;d be insane not to want to have another conevntion. I'm sure you made back your costs. I'm wondering, though, when you'll start taking prereg for 2005, when you;re going to have the conetion, and whether you'll need a bigger hotel (it got very crowded at the marriot, and the con will only get bigger next year).

What sort of things are people thinking of doing next year? I sure would like to see good fanfic programming continue,as that was my main emphasisi at this year;s con and it went very well IMHO. I'm waiting with bated breath for the contest results....

I'd like more warning next year and better publicity. the more people get the chance to prereg, the fewer will have to be turned away at the door. That must have been especially bad for the people who traveled to get to the con.

I;'d also like to see an expanded Artist's Alley, with maybe one big anime/manga dealer and everything else fan-created or fan-related.  I get the sense this con was all about the fanac that anime fans do, which is a wonderful theme to build a con around.
