Con is over! :-(
« on: September 06, 2004, 06:10:06 pm »
Hey everyone! I am sad the con is over and now i am at home thinking about everything i did. I had a blast and i cant wait til the next con. Lol Some of you might have seen me. I was Lenne from FFx2 though some thought i was songstress Yuna with different earings and no rat tail. After a while i gave up on correcting people. Anyway i am really sad though cuz i made some friends at the con and i didnt have time to get thier e-mail addresses or numbers or something. Like my new squall friend who i made dance even though he didnt want to. That was funny. I wanted to get his e-mail or something buuut i had to leave too early today(last day) and i didnt get a chance to see him. :-( Anyway that was my first con and since i had so much fun i am gonna defently go to sakura con because my friend says it was just as fun! So i am still around you guys can e-mail me at Kagomexmiko@comcast.net to talk, or IM me on AIM at LotisNoTeishu. I also have other services like yahoo and MSN if you wanna talk just let me know ^_^ Anyway i hope everyone else had fun too! YAY KUMORICON!

Heheh...Guess what. That's my best friend. He also thought you were Yuna...he's all like, "I can't believe Yuna made me dance..." Heheh...Alright. I am going to add you to MSN and then I'll intro you to him.

Yeah I am going but I am not sure as what yet.

1. I may redo the costume part of my cloud outfit (probably from Advent Children) But I will still have my light-up buster sword!!

2. I may cross-play but I don't know which character

3. I will come up with something totally different but I will still use my electronics in its making!!!

4. I may open a booth to sell Naruto kunai and other cool anime inspired weapons!! (probably be wearing one of the above mentioned costumes during)
Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me...so tie me up and throw me down and show me that you like me...

Cloud, no offense, but work on the hair, ne? My friends and I refered to
you as prehistoric cloud, because it was completely frizzed out lol Good
job on the buster sword though.

He asked him if he was the same Tetsuo we knew, and then...Oh Yamagata! Why!?

Or try getting a plastic shoulder guard.

I suggest you try to get some sort of spiked (instead of just ..fuzzy?) wig, also.  That would be cool.

You should get Newtype heh. That's how I found out about it (I NEVER miss an issue), they've had it listed since the May issue. They seem to maintain a pretty comprehensive list of upcoming events.

Bah, I'm so sad Kumori is over, after sunday I got sad cause I knew I would always remember that day. I did infact miss a few e-mail myself though so if anyone remembers the t-shirt ninja with cat ears, also known as Lonely Bishie Cat-Boy Ninja or the Sign Ninja, please send me a message =) Hopefully I'll see ya all at Sakura ^_^.

Am I the only one who thought Cloud's wig was perfect...? Assuming this is the Cloud with the light-up materia...

Well, I guess it could be made to look a little more spikey, but you have to work with what you've got (meaning, physics :P). I think the wig itself is perfect. All you need to do, OmniWarrior, is put it on one of those styrofoam heads, or something, and then use hair glue to mold it into the shape it's supposed to be. If you use the new Cloud image as a model, it'll look great! (although it's hard to visualize how you'd copy something that random...)

As staff, I'm still at the hotel for tonight, but I had a great time and will be posting a lot this week for feedback, for information, and for fun. ^_^

I was Sora at the con, and I'm already started research on a new costume and such stuff.  XD I'm going to make the Metal Chocobo!  Most likely out of wood.  And I thought my keyblade this year was heavy.

I was also pulled into the J-Rock thing.  So yeah.

Hey! omniwarrior, your sword was heavy. T-T If i had to carry it all day I'd die. lol That's why I just had the REALLY thin sword. XD I'm surprised it didn't snap in half when we took the Auron vs. Cloud pic. XD I'm short, yes I am. XD I felt tiny. lol Poor mini Auron against a tall strong Cloud. lol *jealous* I want to be tall. ^_^

Since I haven't gotten the confirmation e-mail for my account yet, I'm stuck as a guest right now, but when I log in, my username will be  MetalShurikenSasuke  so you'll know who that is when I come back. :3 I'm going as Sasuke to Sakura Con too, and for all of you who have the Naruto Official Art book, I MAY be going as the rock 'n' roll version of Sasuke, with my cousin as Naruto, and POSSIBLY Collie as Sakura, since she did say she wanted to make Sakura's rock 'n' roll outfit. And I know for a fact that she'd look very kawaii in it. XD Oh, and I really hope that Joe (From Bakazoku) can be our Kakashi, he'd be a REALLY good Kakashi. :3 He was my goal to pass as Sasuke. XD And I don't think I did... Oh, and I think I'll stop typing before this turns into an EXTREMELY long post about...... NOTHING! XD

If you do, make sure to clear them with the con first.  I saw a guy who was selling really nice wooden kunai out of a shoulder bag for cheap, get dragged off by con security and his wares confiscated because he didn't have them *all* peacebonded first and because the tips were "too pointy" and therefore dangerous...

...yeesh, peacebonding has become my biggest con pet peeve.  It's like airport security or something.  Pointy wooden things are no longer allowed?  Are they gonna start banning Cloud cosplayers with accurate wigs because they might put out the eye of a glomper?  Or not let attendees bring plastic forks or knives into the con area to eat their lunches?  That moment was the only time I felt like lodging a complaint about the otherwise good con security.

...next year maybe I'll bring papier mache kunai and see if they force me to peacebond that...  O.o*

That's riddiculous... *rolls eyes* I guess I'll have to be careful when i get all those metal Kunai to give to the people who begged my dad... O_O So many to peace bond... Of course, the metal ones really ARE dangerous... ^^; Wooden ones can't pierce flesh as easily, to matter how sharp the wood may be... Metal, if enough force is put behind it, can pierce flesh, which is scary, of course, people can also bludgeon others with them... O_O Which is something I didn't think of until now, actually... ^^; I wont hit anyone, I swear!

I'd complain about that too... It's pretty annoying... But I guess since terrorism is something America's dealing with, they're not letting themselves be lenient about that... But I don't think any otakus will stab another otaku... Or another guest at the hotel. I mean jeez. Otaku may be extremely hyper and overly obsessive sometimes, doesn't mean that if their character is a killer, that they'll kill someone.

I'd pay to see that... I think... I wouldn't want you dragged outta the con for that... O_O It'd be pretty friggin stupid if that happened. I mean COME ON! Paper can't kill anyone. It'd be like "I GOT A PAPERCUT! NOW I'M GOING TO DIE!!!!!!!!" -_-;

Two huh... Hmm... He's making... 7 so far... Lemme ask. ^_^

Ok. He said he'd make them before Sakura Con, so if you're going, they will be $20 each. Which is pretty damn cheap. Considering people'd prolly buy them for $100 each. XD Thank GOD they're not 100 each. Anyhow, I'll probably be carrying around a bag of them, so if you see me at Sakura con you can get them there. ^_^

OH! And I HAVE to mention... :3

WARNING!  These kunai are strictly for cosplay props only, they are not to be thrown. Doing so with too much force will cause them to come apart, for the welds are ground down to make it look neat. They are also not able to be repaired by my father, for he has too much work to do at the moment to repair every broken one, so I must ask you not to throw them.

That was very strange to write. XD

I will be going to Sakuracon and I will be wearing my Naraku costume. I'm making a new mask though. The one I have now kinda...died. I'm also going as a choice of characters from Gundam Seed, Haibane Renmei, Ranma 1/2 and my friend's new obsession Kodomo no Omocha. Although I find that I'm more excited for Kumoricon 2005 then Sakuracon. The atmosphere at this Kumoricon was amazing.

I was honestly suprised at some of the things I saw peacebonded at the con.  Patient male friends attempted to explain that it was the intent of the item in the show cosplayed... but honestly, how is a giant cross actually gonna injure someone?  Unless you're find the secret Street Fight Club room??!  :P

Was security really harassing kids with plastic knives??

Peace Bonding does seem kind of strange.  Especially when you see a peace bonded Harry Potter wand.  It's honestly not about terrorism or security being overzealous, do you know what it's about?

It's really to stop people from taking their non-dangerous props and then deciding to play "Jedi Knight" in the middle of a crowded hallway-- even if they are using Sailor Moon's Wand and a cardboard sword.  Sounds harmless, silly and fun, but that kind of thing takes up a lot of room!  The peace bond is kind of a reminder (like tying a string around your finger so you don't forget something) to remind you that even if what you are carrying around isn't dangerous, if you start playing with it and swinging it around, you are going to take up a lot of room.

The "put an eye out with that thing" part is really secondary.  Those people are less likely to play with their weapons.

Hey, this is Wolfwood/Matt (Black suit, off-white cross wrappings w/ black electrical tape as the binding). You know, I really wasn't bothered by having my cross punisher peace bonded. I see it as a perfectly reasonable way of allowing us to have props that might possibly be considered mildly hazardous or obstructive. I mean, what's the alternative? We could fill out a gigantic waiver or they could just confiscate them and not allow us to  have our props at all. Eh, maybe it's just me.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I had a lot of fun despite the fact that I was somewhat sick during half the con. Met a lot of great people and I hope to meet many of you again at SakuraCon (assuming I can gather the cash and time for it)! Hopefully I'll remember to get enough sleep/food next time. If anyone needs to contact me for any reason you're welcome to private message me to request contact info.

Yes I was cloud with the light up materia buster sword. I also was selling wooden kunai. I sold about 25 of them for $5 each. I like crafting wooden trinkets and weaponry. I think they are much safer than metal ones in a crowded area. I like my wig the way it is although i would like to find some bright yellow/blonde hairspray and spike it better. Since I am always learning something new I will learn some skills in sewing when I redo the armor stuffs. I will be at sakura con so you can ask me about any weapons and such for me to make and I can deliver them there. I already have 2 buster swords ordered and one sephiroth sword. Within a few days I will add a Kumoricon 2004 section to my website.

Oh and I was rooming with the security guy who pulled me away. It is understandable about these things and he was glad that I was so cool with it. Everything was fine about them. In fact I asked some really nice artist girls to sell my stuff for me since the Odins monsters/weapon dealer guy did not even look at them. I made them for him to sell and I got stuck with them, what a jerk. Oh well I hope I get enough ideas and such that I can do some mega damage to his profits when sakuracon and kumoricon come again.

Well anyways thanks for the support guys and I can't wait for the next con. I hope that labor day weekend is always the norm. A 3 day party ROCKS!!!!

Hey Kumoricon fans,

Well, I hope someone other than me shows some appreciation for Kumoricon 2006, though that may appear to be a bit TOO enthusiastic...
"You drive like a baboon in heat!"
"It is down to you and me mister fly."
"Oh I am sorry, did I break your concentration?"
"You no mess with Lo Wang."

sea you at sakuracon!!!

i will be Reeve from the Turks;)

Reeve isn't a Turk, yo. He's an executive.

Anyway, I think next year I may bring back my Oikawa costume (esp. since I got a great cosplay idea thanks to Rem), and probably my Kefka costume. I want to get a Pokémon costume in there as well, maybe I can be Sabrina or someone.
