Yea, Im pretty tired of being Renji. Not that I dont still love Renji but Iv got to change things up a bit every now and then. Besides, I want to go as Kanda and I hate wigs. So its easier to do two characters with black hair anyway.

You can never get enough of Axel! I know kingdom hearts is WAY overdone in cosplay, but I don't want to judge it on how many people do it, I'm gonna do it cause I WANT to. I know I should probably be more creative in my cosplay selections (like something that isn't cosplayed as much) but I've been wanting to do Axel for years. I think I will do Axel for cosplay chess though....I want them to play his battle theme xD

which one do you guys think? I'm thinking either Bakura or Heero, though Dark would be funny as well if I get that costume completed in time. Damn wings....*grumbles*

I was gonna say, if it were like what I had in mind and like I had watched on youtube for last year, I thought they played amtgard style and fought for their spot, where if they get body tapped they're dead or if they get tapped in the arm or leg it goes away. Also, is there going to be a black and white board or from what I saw, taped off squares?

True, if you play a game of strategy.  But if you do like last year's game... strategically, it was probably the worst game ever, but every piece played.  Some more than others, obviously, but everyone participated.

I would just like to put out the suggestion of pre-scripting the moves based on a professional chess match (I get mine from chessbase.com). I cannot tell you enough how much it was worth it doing it at SC this year. I didn't get 1 complaint about the game being a horrible game of chess (well, one, but their complaint wasn't valid because they didn't know the rules of chess), every piece got to move because I chose a game that had that, and this allowed the pieces to co-ordinate their battles a lot more. If you have the time to do that, the results will certainly be worth it.

Yea, thats the way we did it at Sakuracon.

My friend and I got to mod one game at Fanime last weekend.
I was mini Byakuya and he was normal Byakuya.
It was an epic time paradox battle. ( Ended in a tie coincidently) I wouldn't minded doing that part again.
