I had a blast at Chess, I was Martel. When I saw all the Turks come out I was like "oh ****" and gave up with out a fight. Yay for being the only "casualty" that didn't actually die.

 Im so mad at myself. I just NOW read up on exactly who Toubi is and just now realized what an epically futal fight that would have been ( more so than Renji vs Byakuya) and thus did not 'emo it up' enough. Wasnt really in character enough either.
But then Im incredibly self-critical. Im probably the only one who thought so.

I thought it was pretty cool my Reno and Rude decided to pay you off. We'd had a couple of ideas in mind for an attack, and I think that turned out to be the more interesting one.

And I'd love video of the event if anyone has any! Since my group was all participating--aside from one member that was resting in the room--we didn't have any extra hands to film/photograph for us!

 Yea, yea and I suppose that mean Urahara does too right? After I risked my ass to steal taichous scarf from him!!

 Oh but Im not fine.   I started losing my vocie during the game. Oddly it seemed to begin with that single "Hoero Zabimaru!"  Gee, what a coincidence. ^^;

In the fight with Tobi, I got nasty rug burn and both my knees which are also bruised and swollen, my chest binding cut into my skin and left what looks and feels like whip lashes and I just plain over exauhsted msyelf but that was even before the game. Even Taichou was like' Seriously, your going to kill yourself rest for a little while"

LULZ you alos missed me insiting that I can infact use Shunpo and slipped landing flat on my back.

 Hehe all in all a succesful con I must say!

Ishida Uryuu here. I seriously didn't mind not killing anyone, since I was in for almost the whole game, so I got to see the action up close and personal. XD Too bad I didn't kill any Shinigamis, though.

But thanks to the Renji who pulled me offstage...I think my brain went numb for a few seconds. >0>

Hey guys, thank you for all your help with this event!  The chess masters were awesome , they did exactly as I asked and played every piece on the board (and had Kisa kill Zoro, yay ).  I'm sorry that some of you that were pieces only had a little play, but you all were fantastic.  The battles, the special attacks, how you guys interacted with each other on the board between moves was perfect - I couldn't have asked for a better game.

I think it's safe to say we will be running this event again next year, and hopefully we can get enough time to run 2 games.  I hope you guys will come and play again

I take full responsiblity for there not being a second game, Jamiche had wanted to get a second one in but via my commentary and chess rigging it didn't pan out. I'm sorry for anyone who thought that they should have had a chanc to get in on the fun, but there is always next year.

Roxas, Sora. You two made the ultimate sacrifice becoming Queen and King pawns so that we could have that unplanned Pirates vs. Ninja (School girl) battle.

Black King, I'm sorry you didn't get to kill anyone but me.

hahaha!  awesome!  actually, i took it off because i didn't want to A-fight in it, and B-destroy it as i fell to the floor.  i tried to play the chocobo song at one point......but no one could hear it XD

I had a really fun time (I don't know how many times I've said this) and I'd love to come back and be a chess master again. stephen made for an awesome master as well, as he did most of the actual "death planning" if you will.

Na Ru To. No-o (To my defense, I am a somewhat classically trained Japanese linguist student, therefore reading Noh is awkward for me because of the Romaji used). At least that is my excuse. Messing up Naruto was done out of haste.

The board was a pain to set up, but it served us well. Next year, help would be appreciated (I really should have asked for help this year honestly).
