Most of us use our screen names or an even more common nickname that we go by.

...and there are some who actually use their REAL name for their badge name...
Yeah, use whatever name you want - just be sure it's a name you would answer to if someone addressed you by that name.
Most of the time at conventions, people will either address you by the name they can see on your badge or by the name of the character that you're dressed as...  :D

Your real name will be on your badge anyway, along with your badge name, so keep that in mind when you choose your badge name.

A lot of the people from the forums will probably put their forum names there, I probably will, it's just the default thing. Cosplayers will also use it for the name of whomever they may be cosplaying.

Please use the help forum for questions like this. It gets just as much traffic as General Discussion when new posts appear in it.

And please use the subject header to make your topic identifiable. You don't know how many "quick question"s I have to rename. :P

^ Yup, your real name will be on there anyway, like Guspasho said.

I put my forum name. X3

Yupyup, I put my forum name on my badge (as the character I am cosplaying has his own dogtags and his name is on there, so I don't need to put it on my badge ^_^ )

Really your badge name is up to you.

However, if you don't know what you want your badge name to be and you want a suggestion, I vote for Bob.  Short, sweet, and spelled the same backwards and forwards.

Valid points. Since your actual name will be on the badge all you should really do for a convention name is omit it if you so choose or have multiple costumes, choose a nickname or choose a screenname. I'm going with my time-tested and favorite: Lt. Commander Richie. It's my screenname for everything except deviantart and gaiaonline.
