Huzzah! There is now a link on the Kumoricon site (found under "documents" at the bottom of the page) to the AMV competition rules.  It's at  http://www.kumoricon.org/?page_id=18

For best playback, maximum file size is 125MB and maximum bit rate is 2000 kB/sec. A good guideline is that your final encoding should not exceed 26MB per minute of length.

Thats gonna be the death of my AMV. I cant get it smaller than 917 MB, without making it look like total crap.

What programs/codecs are you using to make your amv?

I used FairUse Wizard to rip it and Pinnacle 10.5 to make it.

Alright, I don't know much about either of those programs, but I'd just suggest using a simple codec live Divx or Xvid for encoding. It tends to put out a quality video without a major load of megabytes.

Just a note about DivX: If you use it, you should use version 5.05 or EARLIER. (Chances are you can dig up the older codec somewheres...)
Reason is, after v.5.05 DivX built in a scumware automatic LOGO bug that flashes [DivX] on & off on the lower right corner of the work. (I first noticed it with DivX ver. 5.12)  It's VERY annoying.
