Noon, the Vancouver Hilton (AKA, the convention hotel)

This will be an hour or two long meeting to show Pocky Club members around the hotel and hopefully we'll be able to do a glomp refresher course. If you have not participated in Pocky Club Deliveries before please come to this meeting. If you'd like to join the Club this would be a great meeting to come to so that you can learn everything you'll need to know in one shot. I'm going to work out a Pocky Club Table schedule in the next club Newsletter so the more you see me the more you can work out when you'll be at the booth.

Also, this is the same day and location the staff will be setting up the next envelope stuffing for all the tier 2 registrations. >_> So ya know, if you help with that you'll already be there..... <_<

I'm announcing this because I won't be able to make it to the forum meet up on the 19th.

I may be able to attend this one!! I'm going to try to convince my mom to take a trip to portland to "visit the portland state campus"

aaaaand if we just HAPPEN to be terrifically close to the hotel and we just HAPPEN to not be doing anything around that time

Are we having our own panel again by the way??
If so can we make it a DIFFERENT time than the opening ceramonies?!

Puerco is still alive and hunger for donations. He went to Sakuracon but he was too scared to come out because of all the strangers. He hid with the pocky in the Kumoricon booth.

This year Pocky club has a panel in the afternoon on the first day, after the AMV contest.

Pocky Club will also have a table downstairs for us to decorate. I request that all Club members look into origami so we can practice making things our of pocky labels.

Were you paying attention last summer when we tried to organize a beach trip? We currently have two Pocky Club members with cars. Three with Mr. Mustash and four if Alana isn't busy. That's enough to carry us but the scheduling is still impossible.

Especially when people make their friends answere their phone for them. <_<

I'll try to make it, but it depends on if I can get to the site via public transit. I know I can get to Vancouver via Tri-met easily enough, but I don't know if I can get to the Hilton from the transit center there. There's always C-Tran, I suppose.

That is, unless I could bum a ride up from someone who's driving. Either way, I'll do my best to be present!

Tri met drops you off like, 3 blocks from the Hilton. I've taken the bus trip and its not bad. I do suggest taking the yellow line max up to roundevous with the 5 bus rather than taking the 5 all the way from downtown.

i should know around 100 but more like 40-60, but i do reconize some like looking at my japanese ramen, i see the kanji for minit and the kangi for hot water and know it mean steep in hot water for 3 min but off the top of my head i dont know how to pronounce the hot water, or for kanji i know theres like 4-10 milionways to pronounce each kanji depending on what comes before it or after it or if it'd by its self
its kinda hard

Wow, that's enough to impress me. I've only got Hiragana and Katakana under my belt. Kanji seems so intricate, that's really cool you can recognize anything from it. How many years of Japanese classes have you taken?

i've been studying off and on since 2004, as for schooling i've had 101, 102 103, 111, 112, 113 ( which are conversation classes
) 199 and 201, and my firneds and i tend to keep a hand in studying it but nothing too formal, psu's japanese program is weird as it uses a very out dated book and seprates the writing and the speaking, jumping into their classes is difuclt when swiching learning styles, so instead i taking japanese lit and drama classes oooo ghost bugs!!!

Well, Our meeting worked, we all were at the hotel and met up with snafu and Negima and even MrMustash's friend David (Mori). We didn't really do much for the Club but that's probably because I didn't bring any Pocky (we didn't have room in the car).

Everbody got a good look at the hotel though and we've actually been inside the room where we'll have our panel. It was good seeing you all!
