cat haiku

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail!
Behold, elevator butt.

The rule for today:
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
New rule tomorrow.

In deep sleep hear sound
cat vomit hairball somewhere
will find in morning.

Grace personified.
I leap into the window.
I meant to do that.

Blur of motion, then --
silence, me, a paper bag.
What is so funny?

The mighty hunter
Returns with gifts of plump birds --
your foot just squashed one.

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
sitting on your hands.

My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if I
can just hide my head.

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
What's a 'term paper?'

Small brave carnivores
Kill pine cones and mosquitoes,
Fear vacuum cleaner

I want to be close
to you. Can I fit my head
inside your armpit?

Wanna go outside.
Oh, poop! Help! I got outside!
Let me back inside!

Oh no! Big One
has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

Humans are so strange.
Mine lies still in bed, then screams;
My claws are not that sharp.

This is the first haiku I ever did.  It was back in the 90's when I did this.  I call it "Honey Haiku."

A sweet, gentle kiss
The tulips give to the bees
With tasty honey.

The Love of a Clown

Strolling by myself,
Cupid's arrow strikes my heart
And I fall in love.

(I came up with that title because I wrote it while working at McDonald's.  In fact, it was for one of our posters).

I just found this.  I think it was my first & only attempt to make a rhyming haiku (unless I did one without realizing).  It's called, "Pies."

My pies will not fly,
No matter how hard I try;
They go splat and die.

I'm going to post two haikus here, neither of which are mine.  In fact, they were written by Japanese poets.

The Flower-Viewing, by Chora
Moribito ya
hana wo wake-iri
hana wo izu

(Women, children, men:
into cherry bloom they push-
from bloom come out again).

Spring Scene, no name given
Tsurigane-ni
tomarite nemura
kocho-kana

(On the temple bell
has settled, and is fast asleep,
a butterfly).

Morbid slime is here
to congest your mind and still
make you sneeze sometimes

I'm a turtle man
In a turtle land, how...WHAT?
I'm a resident

we don't want your eye
all we really want is for
you to puke and die

I am obsessed with
The residents, they sure are
wonderful yes. yes!

In my perturbed woods
there are holes that are deeper
than light can go. OH!
Someday...I'll get around to you.

Not mine, but my friend made up random Star Wars: Episode II haiku
Soft sand on Naboo
Like the skin of my lover
Damned two suns

Memories of heat
And sand like little pebbles
Jawa rape just sucks.

And for random Star Wars RP character
Lightsabre blade shines
Crimson droplets on my skin
Ruined leather coat

And lastly one about her cat:
Furry clawed demon
Scratching post from my bare flesh
Go hack a hairball.

Unable to come this year. Sorry guys...

Syllable there, syd dearie.
On the first line there.

But other wise, syd
It was a correct haiku.

Though I heard somewhere
That in Japan the i counts
As a syllable

Though can it be wise
To trust Wikipedia
Which people edit?

Man, are they funky

But sadly I failed the scene.

It just had to be
the time we performed where we
screwed up on it all.

Is pronounced as follows:
hyphen dash hyphen.

By that argument,
the three lines above these three
are surely haiku.

Also, one should note:
"pronounced" has three accents,
thus three syllables.

Go cut through the skies and soar
Wherever you want

Just do not forget
There's an eagle in the sky
Please keep that in mind

Haiku...+

I shall tell a tale;
a story yet unmatchéd,
of how a cow can make a rat meow,
and why the sky has the complexion of rye,
and when the men find peace from within,
and where the bear does stare into air,
but who are you to pursue,
such an inquiry?
