Time Schedule for BESM D20 Games
« on: August 18, 2004, 04:11:21 pm »
WARNING:  Schedule is tentative and therefore subject to change

Okay, as anyone who's reading this topic no doubt has figured out, I'll be running a pair of BESM D20 games this year.  After finally getting ahold of a tentative schedule, here are the times I will be running each:

Saturday, September 4 - The Magical Girl game will run as soon as I get loose from the registration table.  I'm giving it a VERY tentative noon start time, but it may be later.  Unfortunately, I can't guarantee I'll know the exact moment, but let's go with noon for now, and I will make changes to the schedule as time goes on (this may mean changes occur day-of).  However, once we're started, the game can run straight on through until at least 9pm, with only a possible stop for the Bakazoku panel at 4pm.  At 9pm, I'll discuss with the players whether we want to continue or not, at which point a for-certain "stop time" will be decided on.  But basically, you're looking at (for now) a tentative 12:00-9:00 PM game, with a 2 hour break 4:00-ish.

Sunday, September 5 - The Mecha Game will run, once again, as soon as I get free from the registration table.  I expect this will occur earlier than it did on Saturday, due to less traffic (namely all the people who will be there all weekend will have already picked up their badges).  I personally am hoping for a between 10:00 and 11:00 AM start time.  Once the game starts, it will roll on until 6:00 PM, at which point the cosplay contest will likely take priority.  Whether or not the game will be continued after the Cosplay competition is finished is undecided, but more likely than not we'll be done for the evening.  This will be discussed more in-depth at the time of the game, but for now, the tentative schedule on the Mecha game is 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, likely with no breaks.

Monday there won't be any BESM D20 game being run... at least not by me.  Sorry about that one, guys, but there will simply be not enough open time left at that point to do anything worthwhile.  Once con cleanup is done, any stragglers who are staying that Monday night in the hotel, however, may still find me floating around.

So, in short, here's the very very tentative BESM D20 schedule:

Magical Sleeper Team K - Saturday, 12:00-9:00 PM
Gundam K: Kumori Project - Sunday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM

All times pacific, and all times approximate.  And yes, I did just leak what the games are titled.  Bear in mind both games will have a 9-player maximum (not including GM), so sign up early in the RPG room if you're interested in playing!

Enjoy!

Hmm, I'm definately jumping in for the Magical Girl game, but I'm not sure how well the schedule will work with the Karaoke Contest. I'm not sure when audition and everything is...

the tenitive time for the karoke set up is 7:00pm saturday, and the contests is at 8. So you may have to leave the game a little early. Also, that time is subject to change because I have the old schedual not the revised one.

Magical Sleeper Team K.
I spoke with Pezcat at the general meeting and I know which of the girls I want to play. If I find out any of you guys took her I'm coming after you.
You all might as well just leave the first spot on the list BLANK because it's MINE.
You hear?

I'd say which one's mine but Pez might've tricked me and I don't want any of you going after her!

Well, I am quite familiar with the BESM d6 system, but I've never played a d20 game before.  Will these games be open to people new to the d20 system (as in, so new they don't even have d20 yet)?  Or were you guys hoping to run a fast-paced game for experienced players? just wondering.

Both BESM D20 games I will be running will be "open to all," so long as your name's on the sign up sheet for it - I have 9 openings for either game, and I've scaled down the D20 rules that aren't being used so that someone unfamiliar with them can just bring their dice and sit down.  All the math is done in advance on the sheets, so basically if you want to do something, you'll just have to look at one number and add it to your die roll.  I did the mundane creation work so that the players don't have to or spend all day to create their characters.

As for dice needed, I'd recommend D6's, D8's and D20's for the magical girl game, and everything up to D20's for the mecha game.

Don't know if you remember me from the BESM d20 Mecha game you ran last year, I was the Wolfwood who used... Mjolnir, I think it was. Assuming I can find the sheet again (and I hope I can, since I'm about to start work on a mecha campaign to play with friends. The reference would be most useful) I could always double-check. Anyway... big guns. Yeah.

Rambling... back on topic: I really enjoyed the game you ran last year, the mecha designs were very interesting and even for such a short campaign the action was satisfying. You can count on me being there if I can pry myself away from work/college to attend the con. Maybe even if I technically can't.... we'll see.
