Well I'm glad everyone likes the ideas and day. That makes it soooo much easier. I can't wait until September and I'll make sure to keep this thread updated. Once they get a program up we can all figure out what time and where.

Uggh fighting poses *dies* Sakura-con was the first time I tried them (and I sucked)... I need to practice more XD
Ohhh its summer vacation now! Just a few weeks of baby sitting before I get money, then I get to go prop crazy

The hardest part about this costume is going to be the hair! I started growing it out so I could just cut it like bridgets when time comes, but Im getting too attached my long(ish) hair :<

I cant wait to take pics with everyone!

I have more good news for us! I was just talking to my Alucard friend from Sakuracon who cosplayed as Johnny last time and since he's moving to Seattle he said he'll probably come to K-con! Of course with his Johnny costume~

Anyway....in the "too early to start planning photoshoots?" thread someone asked that a day and place be posted for photoshoots. I posted saying Sunday and in the park for GG. (Unles for some bizarre reason it's raining, we'll deal with that and time closer to con time) I thought I'd let everyone know and I am about halfwayishness done with S-ko's dress...I think....

My friend cosplaying as Archer when I go as Rin on Saturday has graciously accepted to take photos for our photoshoot on Sunday. I just thought I'd let everyone know. The more photographers the better though, then we have moar pictures ^_^

My bodybuilding competition just got pushed back to November from August when I was originally going to to do it. I am currently focused on packing on more size and then cutting down my bf% for Kumoricon to 5%. With a little resizing of the collar and shotgun gloves for the physical changes I should be ready. At 6' 3" 205lbs prepare to see the biggest Potemkin ever at any con XD...See you guys there!

Considering I don't have a pattern or sewing machine I think the fact that I'm 80% done with S-ko is good enough for me atm. I'm done with Rin and I don't have much to do for Rika either. I guess my main thing now is just saving $ for spending money and batteries for my camera ^_^

Well regular Bridget, Im remaking parts so Id say about 80%. Right now I have to:
-Fix habit
-Remake yoyo (25% done with that)
-Fix shoes
-Make new gloves
-Remake handcuff
-Tailor dress

Then for artwork Bridget all I'm at 0% XD but it shouldnt take me too long to make.

~Remake scythe...Cause I gave it away at S-Con lol
~Make new Belt Buckles cause the old one were to small
~Worst part ever comb my wig ..... *Puts wig in corner to forget about it*

Zappa is about 95% done. Just gotta finish redoing the shoes and possibly add the white stripes to the gloves.
As for artwork Zappa, he's about 50% complete and I'm hoping to finish him before Expo.

The Mill End Store has large eyelets for clothes and curtains. There are a few locations I know about, but I don't know what part of the city you live in.

I know they have them and they also have curtain making supplies and the eyelets that sew into curtains could be used for your costume as well if they were out of regular ones. *loves your costume, but wont crossplay after what happened last time*

Sorry for the double post, but I went up to the con site this weekend and I got to see the park where I was planning on having our GG photoshoot on Sunday. IT IS PERFECT!!!!

Let's just hope the weather is as nice as it was for Kumoricon last year.

UPDATE!!!
Well, if I revived the Higurashi thread I had to revive this one.
My costume is done, and we are down on the photoshoot list for Sunday in the park. The time is still not set but it's getting close. I'd also like to let people know that if they're looking for another costume for the con Monday there's a Higurashi no Naku Koro ni group and the Mion wants her twin Shion. Back on topic...

Does anyone know how to make a wig look all tangled and messy without turning it into a wreak?

Just as an idea, try using a lot of hair spray and scrunching/crumpling it. When the cosplay is done, you could probably use hot water to straighten it out and get rid of the hairspray afterwards. Get a wig detangler and come it out when dry.

I've never tried it so I can't be sure though.

See how pretty it looks :3
I made it out of craft foam and am going to paint it. But the sides looks icky and gross so I want to cover it up with something like tape but I can't think of anything that will stick and I will be able to paint over. Any suggestions?

If it comes down to it I'm just going to make another one because trying to touch up the sides made it look worse D:

REVIVE!

I bet we're all working hard on our costumes XD I finished all my accessories for my costume! I redid the headplate and it turned out real nice.

Huzzah now to start on that god damn handcuff...that's going to be a headache.
Oh and my sisters dress for her may costume is like 90% done

Now I just have to help her with the hat, shoes, armor thingys and anchor ;.; ::{sigh}::

PHOTOSHOOT TIME QUESTION!!!!
Alright, I need everyones input here. FF and KH are meeting in the park at 10 AM on Sunday. My thoughts are we start at 9 AM on Sunday so we don't have to fight with the FF and KH masses, they have to fight with us. (Not literally, but you see my point) Please let me know what you guys think ASAP. (I know it's on the earlier side)

9am is pretty early, but you're right about having to avoid the other cosplayers. I uh, can assure you that you can avoid the cosplay and GG tourney by merely meeting up before 1pm.

Also, those other two events don't conflict.

Alright guys, I know it's early but I got us 9AM on Sunday in the park across from the Con. This way no tournaments are missed and we don't have to worry about other photoshoots. I was going to wait a little longer but the time slots were filling up fast.

On another note, I've been debating wheter or not to wear my regualr bridget costume

. Its my favorite costume, but I feel like I wear it too much. I will for sure be wearing my Artbook Bridget to the photoshoot (Becuase it wont get recognised anywhere else XD).
Maybe I'll bring my other one too, just incase I feel like wearing it at some point :/

It's not a problem. The thanks should really go to Tom though for letting me know about events and other shoots, as well as keeping the photoshoot thread updated. It is early, but the early bird catches the worm I guess.

I'd bring the other costume as well, just incase. I can't wait to see Artwork Bridget though. XD

Well boys and girls I have some interesting news for you all.

The Naruto cosplayers have decided that they want their shoot at 9AM on Sunday in the park since the park is big enough for everyone. While this is true I will be arriving early to pick out some spots for the shoot and hopefully they dont invade into our shoot too much or I may go IK on them...

The shoot is still going to be at the same time, I'm just letting everyone know we well be sharing it with the narutards. *no offense*

The only thing that I'm against the Naruto group is the fact that it's a big anime so there will be lots of cosplay newbies going from that. Cosplay newbies= some will not know what the hell they are doing and wander into other places. And with all new people, it's exactly like the freshies in high school, some think they are high and mighty and sass back and make problems for people. Though that could also be said about the the people who have cosplayed before. I'm just going off of what I've seen at cons~

Well as long as they dont read this I dont see a problem with saying it since you're going off experience. I'm sure everything will be fine, if there are problems we can just move to another location in the park.

Darkain was going to attempt to come to our GG meetup to snap some photos, but now that the Naruto shoot is at the same time I'm not sure if that'll still be happening.

EDIT: Word is that Darkain will still be showing up, so nevermind.

I think it will be fine. Even if their group is big, it doesnt mean they will get in our way, plus we can always move around to other locations if it gets too crazy! Heck, the Sakura-con GG meetup moved all around the convention center, and it was pretty epic

And not all cosplay newbies are that bad... we were all cosplay newbies once! I think its just a few bad ones that give everyone a horrible reputation.

Man, that prop is looking awesome!! Im so excited for this meetup! I hope to get some great photos of you guys too.

Also my costume is about 95% done :] I just need to make the straps and then Im finished! I also just got my hair cut and rebleached for Bridget. I wish it was a little longer in front but it will do...

Hey hey, so just to let everybody know, there will for sure be a Faust coming this weekend

For sure gonna do it Sunday, but have some other possibilities for the other two days. Hopin to get in on Sunday morning pics if that's cool.

I was also thinking about doing a Japanese schoolgirl outfit, totally manning it, but started thinking harder and have a question: What are thoughts on crazy Dr. Faust playing a schoolgirl? Just to toss it out there. Haven't checked it out together yet, do that later today. But what do you think? I'm thinkin it could be hilarious, but anyone have horror stories from this kind of thing? Not sure, but is it called cross playing?

Seeing Faust in a school girl outfit would be amusing. Crossplaying is when someone dresses up as a character of the opposite sex. Faust in a school girl outfit would be considered more of a hybrid. I just thought I'd let you know since you asked.

Also, feel free to meet us in the Park at 9AM on Sunday for photos. More people = better.

This is my last post in this thread until the con unles for some reason the weather goes crazy, but it looks like we got lucky again with the weather this year.

I'll see you all bright and early in the park on Sunday.
