Admission at the door is $45-$50 (can't remember which).

Okay Frodo, you planning to skim some off the top?  =^~.o^=

Unless there's been a change that I'm unaware of, the at-the-door price will be $35... thus costing your friend and her sister $70 to get in, instead of $90-$100.

Of course, if you DID want to pay the extra $20-$30, we will most definitely not complain or stop you.  Heck, we may just even hand it to Frodo.  =^~.~^=

if you didn't pre-reg do I need to worry about not being able to get into the con? Can you still register with the door price? Is there a set limit...again my cousin as well did not notify me in a timely fashion.

Registration can be done at the door on any of the days, whether or not pre-registration has occurred, so long as the requisite amount of dollars are produced.

BTW, Riverspree, you're from Yoncalla... do you know Beulah Everly?  She used to be the librarian for a long time down there before she retired a few years ago...

I think I'm gonna make an announcement thread regarding registration.....

How long do you think the line will be at the door anyway?

Honestly, not a clue.  This is actually only my 2nd con (my first being last year's Kumoricon), and my 1st working the registration side of things, so it's just as new to me as it is to many others.

I do know that it will be significantly shorter than it would if we weren't taking care of some of the registration the night before.  Exact time to be determined (as I will be driving up from Eugene on Friday afternoon), but we'll have tables set up for people to take care of their registration the night before so they can just flash the badge and walk in on Saturday morning.

For the record, I highly recommend that people avail themselves of that option on Friday night if you are there that evening.  It will get you through registration faster, it will shorten the lines Saturday afternoon, and it will keep the volunteers working the registration tables with a little lighter load.  It's a win-win situation for everybody!

w00t!  I'll be able to afford my cyborg body in just a few thousand years now! ^.^

And, since I think last years Kumori Con was small (wasn't it 200 attendee's or something?), I don't think anyone should be too worried about the line outside the hotel.  And, if you can pick up your badge on Friday, all the better.  It just makes security's job all the easier come Saturday. ^.^

Err... warnings, I'll be on duty on Friday to help with the Registration as security line patrol.... do try to behave. ^.^

Kumoricon had 400-450 last year, if I recall correctly, about half of which were pre-registrations.  Despite what the front page of the website may tell you, I've got approximately 450 paid pre-registrations in my database (unpaids don't count 'cuz they smell like turd biscuits)... so we may have anywhere from that to as many as 900 (if we are to follow that "half-and-half" thing, though 900 seems just a bit too high as a possibility to me.

For the past few years, Sakura has had twice the number of people attend that are registered on their message board at the time.  Plenty of message board registered people don't attend too.

It's not any kind of scientific data or proof, but it's been pretty consistant the last 3 years.  Because of this, I'd be willing to make the prediction that our number will be close to double the message board registration as of the con.  (Assuming a bunch of people don't register over and over just to mess with my prediction).

Yes, the standard breakdown of attendance is thaat people get about half pre-reg, and half at the door.  We actually had about 55% pre-reg and 45% at the door last year.
As for the lines, the standard practice is to do pre-reg check-ins Friday night, which we will be doing.  Then in the morning on Sat we'll do the regular registrations and the other pre-regs.  Hopefully we'll have some of the gaming and video rooms running Friday night, but that's dependent on when we'll be able to get that set up.

1000 con goers.
500 registering Saturday Morning.

One more reason for me to be a volunteer and not a staffer.

Does this 35 count for all the days, or just the one?

$35 admission covers all three days.  Saturday and Sunday are $20 each, and Monday is $15.
