What are the coolest weapons seen in anime/video games?
« on: August 16, 2004, 12:05:39 am »
I need more ideas on this. I already make the following.
Naruto kunai
Cloud's buster sword
Alucard's guns
Squall's gunblade
Serge's mastermune
Sephiroth's masamune
Seifer's hyperion

There were others like Koudelka's Sacnoth and other items that were just way to large for anyone to carry. these were also items that took very large peices of wood to make and thus were no cost effective for me or the buyer.

Tell you what... whoever gives me the best idea and sends me a good picture for the inspiration, will get it for free!!!!

I would like the idea posted on this forum first so there are no repeats.

Setzer's arsenal from FFVI. I mean really--dice, cards, and darts, with 9999 damage potential? I'd like to see Gambit do *that*.

Anything from Ghost in the Shell (Especially the Tachikomas! ^.^ )

Anything from Predator

A quick game of Hopscotch (Longest Journey ^.^ )
No, I'm not insane.  I'm just... happy.

I saw a dead-on copy of that gun at Sakura con 03, very cool. The girl also had red contacts in, talk about attention to detail.
And now I'm a catgirl?

IMO, best weapon of all time in any video game:

Bowser's "Hurly Glove" from Super Mario RPG

There's an obscure one, huh?

Why was this so cool?  Basically, when it was equipped, Bowser's weapon was Mario.  Bowser would literally pick up Mario and throw him at the enemy as a projectile weapon!  Hit the button at the right time during the attack, and the plumber would bounce off the enemy and into Bowser's hand for another toss.  Sheer brilliance!

Honorable mention goes to the pizza that replaced your weapon in the PS2 version of Rygar, and to the Prinnies from Disgaea (throw a Prinny and it goes BOOM!  Gotta love that!)

PezCat
Sixty pounds lighter, just as awesome.
2K3-2K7: Various staff, primarily RPGs and Registration
2K12: God only knows...

=^..^=

Yep something real satisfying about throwing a prinny at a group of prinnies and watching them set each other off. I just love Disgaea(200+ hours, 7 cycles)

since i havent seen Final Fantasy Unlimited i wouldn't know . i think that the Vector Cannon from Zone Of Enders 2nd runner is at or near the top of the list. this is for those who are not familliar with Zone of Enders. I'll put things into perspective. First before you can understand the Vector cannon you must know what the Yurinbek(i dont know how to spell that) Catapult is . it was designed as a means of transportation. using the element called Metatron it compresses space over great distances allowing for excelent transportation. this technology also went into the Anubis and Jehuty orbital frame divelopement. The Vector cannon is designed with the capability of tearing the fabric of compressed space. any form of shield wether energy or physical are unable to stop a blast from the vector cannon. The Down sides to the Cannon are it takes time to charge and the recoil is so great that the orbital frame that is shooting it has to be completely secured to the ground or it will rip the orbital frame to pieces. I almost forgot. an orbital frameis what you could consider a Mobile suit far superrior to a gundam.

The gun blade is one of my next projects. I haven't made one yet. The only problem is that for it to be complete you need to add the sleeping lion heart pendant to the butt of the weapon. So that will have to be one of those things that a buyer will have to add.

Hmmm this is a toughy....I think Vash's are fair candidates. I don't know if its the best out there but still a good choice in any case!

Silver is Vash's main weapon. He usues it most often. There is another gun like Silver that Knives uses, both having 13% output, capable of destroying an entire city. But, Vash never uses silver that way. Silver is a fairly heavy gun, but failry simple too. It only holds 6 bullets, so Vash's precise aim is required when firing. Silver can transform into the Angel Arm, which is also why there is a 13% ouput. In most images, silver is actually silver but this image has a darker tone to it, so Silver looks more like it's twin, that Knives has.
Rapid Fire first appears in episode 12. I hope this isn't too much of a spoiler... Vash lost his left arm, and it was replaced as a prosthetic arm which turns into a gun. Rapid Fare is always used in an emergency. Vash doesn't use it otherwise.
And the 3rd of Vash's 3 guns! The Angel Arm is what Silver transforms into. It is the gun with the 13% output rate. The Angel Arm is what
                   ***********SPOILER BELOW**********

destroyed the citys of July & Augusta. It has a mind of its own up until a point in the series. Knives is also able to have an angel arm because of his gun. In the last episode, Knives and Vash fight each other using the angel arms.

please realize this, I use 2x4s and 2x6s in crafting these trinkets. These boards are simple and fairly cheap (when purchased in winter time) This helps keep cost down. Doing some big project like that is not realistic in terms of the amount of time it takes to create and the tremendous materials called for. 1/3rd of my expense is wood and paint, another third is replacing saw blades, sand paper, drill bits and other tool replacement. The last third is payment for my time. I don't make much but I rather enjoy crafting wood. Of course that is not my only passion. As seen in my buster sword, I love electronics too. I studied for many years. Unfortunatly with the crap economy and the outsourcing there is no work for me in that feild. Best I can do is electrician... What I am really looking for is a simple idea that can be applied without getting too over the top. I mean if I were going to go all out I would be building myself a magitech tank from FF6 or Welltall from Xenogrears. Maybe even an airship... Don't know which game I would model it from because they were all cool... hee hee....

Seras's Anti-midian Harkonnen canon is 30mm, not 390mm.

Those who hunt elves - Neko spirit posessed T-80 tank
Hellsing - Walter's wires
Vampire hunter D - D's sword
Zombie bunnys are edible play toys

I think Kite's Twilight Bracelet from the Dot Hack games is pretty cool, Data Drain rocks.  :D

For Anime, I think Roronoa Zoro's three Meitou he uses for his Santouryuu style are all pretty cool.

Oh, and without a doubt the BEST weapon EVER in ANY anime is The Bio-Booster Armor Guyver Unit III (AKA The Shadow Guyver).

Guyver rocks so hard.  8)

Yeah, but, if she hadn't, they would have destroyed Whiskey Peak.  :(

Besides, out of all of them, Nami is the strongest, not because she is physically strong, but, she can easily gain control of Luffy and the other's actions.

Lets not forget the Love Cook either.  :D

Here's a few that I can't believe haven't been mentioned!
(just being thourough here)
The Lance Longinus from Evangelion.
The Mass Production Eva's Blades, also from Evangelion.

The Lazer Cannon that Kinada picks up in Akira.
Ukiyo's Spatula (pick a size) from Ranma 1/2.
Ryoga's umbrella from Ranma 1/2.
Cologne's staff from Ranma 1/2 (would be insane if it were to scale!)

Lu Bu's Lance, Sky Scorcher, from the Dynasty Warriors games (there was an anime too ya know!).
Guan Yu's Halber, Blue Moon Dragon, from Dynasty Warriors.
A lot of the other signature weapons from Dynasty Warriors are really nice looking but these the best. Though I think that the oxe head club of Xu Zhu, , would be incredible to make!

The variety of awesome weapons from the Soul Calibur series. I'd pick one but I don't follow the series.

Honorable Mention:
Edward's Stinky Gas guns from Cowboy Bebop.
Tom the Fanboy
Passion over Pedantry!
Pocky Club President 2005-2010

Wolfwood's Cross Punisher from Trigun! Yeeeeah. You can't beat a GIANT CROSS stuffed full of firepower..... Heavy machine gun, rocket launcher, and supposedly it's an alternate version that has the gun racks in the arms for the many, many pistols, but still that's pretty cool. I love that thing O_O.  Sure, it's heavy, but "that's because it's so full of mercy"! And.. uh.. guns.. ammunition... metal in general... yeah. Ooookay. I'm rambling so I must be done.

I'd have to agree regarding the Dynasty Warrior ones, but, I do not agree on those.

Sure, those ARE good weapons, but you forgot THE BEST weapon, which is Gan Ning's Seven Seas Sword, THAT THING IS HUGE. Also, I'd have to go with alot of the weapons found in the Dynasty Warriors games, aswell as Samurai Warriors.

...cannot believe I forgot those.

This is somewhat off topic, but I'm wondering if any of you are into real-life firearms?

I do alot of target shooting myself, and so my favorite anime guns are the realistic ones:

Chrno Crusade (Rosette's Tommy guns, 1911s, and Broomhandle Mausers)
Noir (Bretta Model 1934, Walther P99, Makarovs, just to name a few)
Hellsing (Alucards .454, while not a real life gun, was still pretty realistic)

When it comes to real-life, I'm a bit old fashioned. My favorite firearm is probably the Model 1894 Winchester (I own 2 of them):

My favorite anime guns would be Beyond The Grave's guns from Gungrave, his twin Ceruberus guns are awesome looking.

This site has some images of them (of the real life model versions I believe): http://www.poseidon.co.jp/3F/cer/cer1.html.

I believe Ceruberus is the Japanese pronounciation of Cerberus, which is, of course, the three headed dog that guards the gates to Hell (Hades in its native Greek and Roman mythology).

omniwarrior, sounds like you've got quite the collection...

.338 is about the biggest rifle I can handle... I borrowed my Dad's Ruger .338 for elk hunting last year. Nice rifle, but man does it KICK...

My Current collection consists of:

Rifles:

2 Winchester Model 94's in .30-30
NEF "Ultra" Single shot .22 WMR with 3-9X40 Wide angle scope
1916 Spanish Mauser (Mauser 1895 stlye bolt) converted to .308
Russian Mosin-Nagant in 7.62X54R

Handguns:

Makarov in 9mm Makarov (aka 9X18 )
Star Model "A" in 9mm Largo
Single Action Revolver (cowboy style) in .22LR
Beretta Model 950BS "Jetfire" in .25ACP

Shotgun:

NEF Single-Shot (Break Action) 12 ga

Other:

.50 cal Caplock Muzzle-Loader (Black Poweder)

My friends make fun of my little Beretta .25, but it's great for carrying in your pocket and it's very reliable (never had it jam on me).
