i am currently taking my own grand leap into armor making. done a hand full of props and it just seemed like the next step. though i feel i should specialize soon, lest i delve deeper into my own exsistence as a jack of all trades (master of none, and so on)

this is a view of it head on, not painted yet and indeed the very first part (its still missing the lower arm guardy part

loop de doo more pictures! this girl got to me a little late and wanted a lime (saber marionette j ) costume for sakuracon. im definately going to send her off in something but im not sure if im going to have all the accsesories finnished. one week (there were a couple of things ahead of her) is nay enough time when its really only part of a week and one is starting ones new all studio class term. (T_T graphic design is simple but so freakin time consuming)

note! the brooch thing on there isent done/isent the one i am sending with the costume, there is gold fixing on the actual one but its drying and i wanted to take a picture.

yeah, no hes not old hes only just going to be 4 this may. he had fleas a couple weeks before i had taken that picture (about a month or so ago) and hes kinda alergic. and had licked off all his fur arround his tail and on his tummy. its still growing back, right now hes got a little velvet kitty tummy.

Yeah I figured cause my cat's tail did that when she had fleas. Only, she had them so often her tail was always like that.
I sort of just thought it meant she was old or something and her fur had a hard time growing back. >__<

And btw, I like that costume you just posted pictures of.
I looked at the first one and I was like
"Hey, that belt really remindes me of a piggy nose. It's probably just a coincidence, though."

But then I saw the second picture and I was like, omg, piggy! XD

Is that costume from a show or just from your mind?
It sort of reminded me of Yakitatte Japan, but I wasn't really sure why. >.<[/size]

Lili, the piggy costume, is downright awesome, especially for someone like myself who used to own Earthbound. It's super rare. I suggest anyone who can should try and play it, even with an emulator, that game is pure win.

the mask drove me absolutely batty. this costume was kicking around my place for about 3 months, not only did i get the due date mixed up with another at first but i had big problems getting the first layer of the helmet (egg carton papier mache) to dry when it was still cold outside...and dank..so very dank in my last apartment. i acctually had to move it with me when i moved 2 months ago.
the helmet is made (in this order) from papier mache, wonderflex, friendly plastic. and then the paint. i dont think ill be doing any helmets like that unless i get a vacuform machine. which i dont see happening anytime soon.

The sweatsuit she made me was the most expensive costume I'd done until then but it was exactly what I had asked her to do, right down to the embroided logo and legs I have to roll up.

Definitely worth the money.

I won't say how much it costs but it really really REALLY depends on what you want and what it's made out of.

im lad you were happy with it. that thing ended up being a little more expencive than i would have expected, the materials for a sweat suit were unexpectedly spendy. it was that wierd ribbly stuff that goes at the cuffs.

I dont need one this year since Im growing my hair out and I can use it for my charatcer, but will you still be in the bizz for Kcon 2008? Then Ill definetly need a wig.

How much do you think her hair would cost me?

Her black headband she wears on her forhead goes all the way around the back of her hair, which is why her hair curves in up top and then goes out.

so right now im hauling ass to try and finish my little sisters prom dress in time to mail it up to her in washington in time for the prom next weekend (not the one in a few days like the 21st or something) its pushed a couple of commissions onto the back burner cause im an awesome sister/crappy buissness person like that.

anyway i would probably be done with it all ready but she told me to do whatever i wanted, cause she trusted me to make something nice.

well that led to me deciding i wanted to do some embroidery...T_T i worked on it for about......well at least 8 hours yesterday and its only a little more done than this...

Looks like someone needs an embroidery machine. My janome would've embroidered that size design in about 40 minutes and all I'd have to do is sit and watch it go...

return of dead threads, hey i dont see the point of starting a new thread making everything more messy.

anyway hers the result of all the damnable hand stiching i did. i got some really nice pictures of my sister actually in the dress but she keeps not sending them to me.

also heres the result of my painting that zelda armor. (still dont know if the wearer is going to step up, i might end up selling this stuff, i guess the dress too if it turns out someone wants the whole costume)

and you know, im still looking for someone to help me put up my own website. O_O heeelpmeee.

MOAR INSANITY.

so i just spent most of last week, while not in school or working the snow cone stand in sellwood, doing this!

i was at a stand still for a while staring at the sky for alot of the week waiting to see if the weather would hold out long enough for me to spray the primer and the base coat so i could get it inside and do the hand work. sadly this did not happen till yesterday and it kinda destracted me from doing otherstuff i could work on inside...oh well.
