Asian Celebration in Eugene Feb. 17-18 '07
« on: February 12, 2007, 08:06:31 am »
There is another fair next weekend, the Asian Celebration in Eugene, at
which Copic Marker has offered us a little bit of space on their table.
I already have three people who have volunteered for shifts at manning
the table.

Please check out the Street Team thread under "Get Involved" to, um, get involved ;-)

Here is their web site:

Am I one of the 3? I'm willing to put in something like a 2 hour shift, either saturday starting after 2 (due to school til 1) or on sunday...I was the one through whom Marianne forwarded the proposal & have some stuff to work on w/copic while there anyway, & live locally :)

Just wanted to give one more shout out for the "Oregon Asian Celebration" at the Eugene Lane County fairgrounds this weekend. Times are 10a.m. - 6p.m. Sat and Sun. They are expecting 20,000 people (prob. less because of the rain, but still a ton!

They will have cooking demos, crafts, martial arts, entertainment, an Asian marketplace and lots more.

Admission is only$3 and KCon will be sharing a booth with Copic markers. If you go, please stop by and say hi!

Too bad the Feb meeting wasn't scheduled for this weekend, instead of last weekend. I just can't head down there two weekends in a row, or I'd have been happy to help out! Oh well, the Sakura festival at Uwajimaya will be coming up soon...

it went so well i had to call jeff to have him email me a link so we could download registration forms....totally out of them...
rachael (a teen herself) had a lot of teens hopping by. i was more approached by parents of very young kids.
i also went around yesterday to martial arts booths & artisan booths asking folks if they would be interested in doing demos or classes, or for the artisans, being in artists' alley or the art show or donating art for auction. today i'm going back briefly to ask merchants about donations for the auction and/or being in exhibitors' hall. copic is the best--they sponsor the creation stations at kumoricon, sakuracon, anime evolution, & potentially otafest, and help kumoricon and sakuracon in many other ways. if you get a chance to check out their markers, i love that they are ecological--refillable, & nips/tips are replaceable.
