It looks really pretty.  But, other than that, I have nothing.  I got killed in the pre-game training thing in FFX and haven't touched an FF game since. ^.^;
No, I'm not insane.  I'm just... happy.

I've only played a little bit so far, but from what I can tell, I like it. The battle system is really unique. If I wasn't so busy I'd be sitting down and playing it a lot more.

I need to figure out how I can mooch this game from someone. All the copies at my local rental store are out and I can't spend the money to buy it. I just want to play it through once!  :(

Heyyyy, I got an idea! Anyone want a special title? :twisted:

I've had very little time to play it. Homework and school say no. It just sits there on my TV, mocking me.

Mocking me.

Whoever lets me borrow FF12 so I can play it through once gets a custom title, good for as long as you like. Basic restrictions apply, such as it can't be "Administrator" or "Moderator" or have bad words in it.

The only time I ever played it was    I was visiting my famly for christmas and I walk in and my mother is playing FF7, it was BFzar.  I played it a little but i'd rather just see a movie of all the story line I did not like the game play.

Basically. It's a 3D turn-based real-time system, similar to an MMORPG. However, one difference from the turn-based systems of other FFs is that instead of choosing what a character does each time their turn comes around, they do what you command then go back to their default actions, which are called "Gambits"

While in previous games, you would be able to freely control all of your part members. In XII you freely control one of them while the others act on their own, their actions varying depending on their set Gambits. You can choose which person you want to control freely in mid-battle as well, but it should be noted that if they have their Gambits turned on, the character you control will try to move about on it's own. Personally, I'd rather run around on my own and not let the game play itself. :P

The battle system is most similar to FFXI and FFX-2 imo.

If you were to play it like FFX-2(I'll try to use this one as a ref), controlling all 3 characters(in a party) at once is rather difficult since each turn comes up as soon as they complete their actions which ranges from instantly to 2(average) or 4 seconds.
  So its like FFX-2 system where you maybe "charge" for each move and then wait for your next turn,  the waiting for your next turn has been removed.  Thats why the gambits come into play which bascially tell your characters to do certain actions under certain conditions.
I.e  Whenever someone's HP is below 30% cast cure 1 on that character
"Hm, the Moe is strong with this one..."
Kylite-"You and your TV Tropes!"<Refering to This Troper's ruined voc

I have almost beat the game. Its rather addictive I have to say. It blows 10 out of the water....but then 10 was a piece of crap. It has a very complex political story line that I am fond of...some times the cinematics drag on for a long while, but thats okay. Fran is by far my favorite character. Them Viera's are hot...though very similar to elves. Is any one creeped out that there is not a single male Viera? They have female Bangaa and Seeqs, but no male Viera? Any who thats a little off topic. The only thing I am really not happy about is the battle system. I don't much care for it, but you get used to it.

Kind of but way more complicated. With the Gambit system you can set up your other characters to be fairly effective little A.I.s giving them tasks that have greater priority than others.

P.S. Penelo should die, I hate that character.

^^; Wow, am I the only one who actually LIKES the battle system of FFXII? XD I love that game, it is like a god to me... *places it up with the other video game gods and bows down to them*

Anyways, I love the graphics and battle system of the game. About the only thing that bugs me is having to buy the liscense AND weapon/spell... that's just annoying. Also, I'm an organizational freak/procrastinator. So what happens is: I make all these plans written out on what everyone is gonna specialize in liscense, which esper (summons) they'll get, etc. And then the procrastinator part kicks in: I don't play the game for weeks, forget where I was, and curse school/sports for taking any remaining video game time away. XD;;

Well, I gave up. I traded it in along with a few other things for different games. I wanted to love XII. I did. But with a fighting system that turned out to be far too 'automatic' for me and characters that I couldn't connect with on very many levels, I found myself playing the game to be along the same lines as a chore.

However I got Shadow of the Colossus and RE4 out of it, so... score.

This message may be a bit late but if anyone is considering to buy the game still here's my advice.  I bought FFXII and I loved all 68 hours I put into it. But the problem is, if you ever put it down for a long period of time it's almost impossible to get back into it.  I had to put it down over winter break while I spent the entire 2-3 weeks away from home with friends and family.  Afterwards I came home and got hooked on grandia III.  When I tried to finish it, I couldn't get myself to do it, so my advice is this.  Buy the game, it's worth every bit of money you spend on it, the gameplay is long, and fun.  But don't put it down for a long period of time because you won't be that interested in it anymore even though I heard the ending is amazing o.o'.

Honestly, it sits with me the way 11 did. I dont mind the concept of an Online Final Fantasy, but i dont think it should have been called "11". With 12, i like the game, but its so far out there combat wise from all the other games that i find myself longing for 10, or 6, or 8. Now, Tactics, with its "differant then normal" battle system is i think my favorite, but its "FFT" not "FF8", so its okay by me. Maybe im too much of a traditionalist. And not having to do anything gets me bored easy.

I think it's the best one yet. This is coming from an avid FF7, 9, and 10 fan. The gameplay is amazing and the liscence board is perfect.
