AMV SHOW (not the contest)
« on: July 27, 2004, 08:13:40 pm »
After the staff meeting, I volunteered to run a 2 to 3 hour CHUNK of AMV's, the 1st hour being parody movies trailers, spoof commercials, and fake-out TV openings, and the rest of the time being FREESTYLE AMV's.

What sort of stuff do YOU want to see? (my own collection has -LOTS- of twisted comedy material and stunning visual effects, and fewer of the drama/romance/slow-thud-type works.)

What series or music is OVERDONE (as in "Pleeezse don't show this AGAINnnnn")

AMV Show times (tentative!)

OK! Looks like (unless the schedule changes, we will have the AMV contest Monday noon til about 1PM, then 2 hours of AMVs (which also allow ballots to be counted...) and announcements of winners at Closing Ceremonies (3PM? 4PM?)

I MAY be able to run the Animix during some block in the morning. (Segments 1-5 total about 50 minutes long.) "Mission Improbable" might round out the hour since it's about 10 min long.

FOR THE SHOW, if I get 2 hours it will be a 'Best of" collection of trailers and commercial parodies for the first hour, and the next hour will comedies and parodies mixed up with action and a FEW drama entries of the sort that aren't lame, over-sappy, or BORING.

If I have an extra 15 minutes I ***may*** show a certain (ahem) "project ..."

Well, I just made this, and it's not an AMV, but someone can toss it in the show anyway if they want: http://home.pusan.ac.kr/~hilman/WakeUp.avi

VERY Cute!

How did you make the beam effect?

Also, did the voices switch to Korean part way through?

I thought this was a riot. This would have been fun to throw into the Comedy category.

Nah, it's Korean throughout. And the beam effect was frame-by-frame editing in Photoshop.

I will start collecting submissions around March 2005 for next year's contest.

As this site will grow and change between now and then, keep and eye on things sometime in March. Then burn off a CD, type up & include an entry form (to be posted) ans send it in (address also to be announced.)
