^ My first attempt at Cloud Strife.

< Old blue snowmobile jumpsuit, shmmering yellow wig, and a plastic machete as my Buster Sword (couldn't find any toy armor for his left pauldron), not too bad for a first try though I'll say.

V If you were to write your life story starting from your first con to present, how epic would it be?

^Not that epic

< It would be very awkward as I try to understand the world of cosplay and feeling rather foolish sometimes. It owuld be an emotional tale of growing up

V Weirdest thing you did at your first convention?

^ Look for a Green Left Shoe, kidnapped a person from her friends (who ended up becoming one of my best friends!) to find it, and before all of that became the "security" for Random Panel of DOOM!!!!!!! because I was in my OC Turk/FFVII Character's cosplay. -nodnod-

< but really, is that super odd? something always happens to each person at each con, regardless of what number it is...

V Your favorite (non-anime) Historical person and why?

^ I don't know what you mean by that, but if you mean terrible to soft and grand, I would have to say so i guess. My comforter has been pretty fluffy for a while so i guess there wasnt any change to the texture C:

^ Depending on my presentations, I often d/l images and create talking point notes, of course, the AMV stuff took months of prep, and I am now doing anime and general video programming for a couple of other cons happening throughout the year; that too takes at least a month and a half before the particular con.

< Has cancelled pretty much ALL cons & hobby activity and even some yard maintenance because I am dropping EVERYTHING to study up on US Patent law - I hope to take and pass their Patent Bar Exam in a few more months of prep - BUT it's taking everything I've got - nights, weekends, etc. This will be a real {#$%$!!} of an exam.
I really hope I can pass it and get back on with LIFE.

^ Can't remember what I did that day. But I do know what I did on Mothers Day...finally made her a card.
It might have been only a week before Cancer promoted her to angel status (passed away), but at least I had no regrets that I knew of.

< it's been a life changing spring and summer. Lost my parents to Cancer and Diabetes one after the other, couldn't get work so I had to move in with my aunt and uncle, if only just for June, as their house was being bought and had to move themselves. Hopped over to a foster home in mid July. It's been no easy ride adjusting to it all.
Through the smoke and flames and plot twists my life has thrown me, I'm still the hardy and heartfelt character behind the cosplay. The con on the horizon, obstacles seem to melt away before me. Had only little time and resources to fashion together anything new, but all my old cosplays survived the two moves, and whatever fresh additions I have should be just what I need. In a few short days we can finally say...our home and friends are only a bridge away.

^ Today, it was just added back to Netflix and I tossed an episode for Max, had cookie monster eating an apple.  But then kiddo grabbed the controller and put it on Peg+cat

< I can recite lots of children's programing songs now.  My Sons current favorite is Peg + Cat, its cute he's 3 and was trying to count his fingers from watching the show and jumps during counting.  The songs are catchy and the puns are heavy too.

v They have a go cart called hot buttered lighting (isn't that an awesome name?)
If you have a gocart what would you name it?

^ "Skidding Suicide."

< I love Peg+Cat!  That show is clever!  I love how the clouds are drawn out with the infinity symbol!

V What did you do to bring in the new millennium?
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

^ babies, an awesome recipe for BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp, and my sense of integrity.

<Halloween is coming up tho my kiddo doesn't like hats or things covering his head,  making a costume hard. We take him by cedar hill's mall, and like the 3 (out of 30) apartments giving out treats.

V batman rain jacket for the win? ( he is okay with the hood down)
Also what's the deal with both few houses giving out treats and (which makes sense) lack of trick or treaters?

^ Fewer tick-or-treaters and fewer houses... Hmm. I think that culture has changed in a couple of ways: Most of these traditions, including the song 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' - which is about begging for delicious, high-calorie traditional Christmas foods - especially desserts - came from a time when actually destitute people and families would literally drop by to beg, or offer some handywork around the house in exchange for a place at the dinner table or even a spot to sleep out in the barn or in a hayloft. A higher level of trust between strangers needed to exist. 'Peak Hobo' was reached during the depression right before WW2, with something like 25% of males unemployed. After WW2 we invented suburbs and subdivisions (cf 'Levittowns.') Then came drug days of the '60s, which turned the 'happy hobo' image with the wooden pole and sack on the end of it into the strung out hippie scrounging through your garage uninvited and possibly with a stolen weapon, and that was the beginning of the end. By now most people don't really interact with their own neighbors too much anymore, (for a number of reasons you can google but which may be too un-PC for this forum) and trust between strangers has dropped precipitously. One result: many of today's parents seem to prefer an anonymizing element between giver and receiver. Hence the transition to packing up the kids in the SUV and heading off to the mall for trick-or-treats, rather than walking your own neightborhood with goofy, fun lanterns.

< Now designing automotive harness connectors.

^ Depends on what I try to cosplay! But I imagine it will be much the same, just more people going why the hell.... Unless my friends all still are at it too, in which case it might become the norm!

< I miss the forums in how they used to be full! I am going to be spewing cosplays out again soon. and I miss my friends!

^A lot, I have other groups but not that share the nerdy/geek/anime stuff, esp since I am not as able to be involved in the community in person as much as I used to be.

<Would really like to more involved with kcon but right now are in the middle of year one (which have been told is the hardest) of an developmental diagnosis for my 3 1/2 year old, doesn't really mix well.

V Insurance hoops and paper work suck doesn't it?

^ That is surely very stressful! It can be a lot to handle especially at first! My husband has Aspergers and that can get hard by itself every once in awhile. For such a young kid who doesnt even know whats going on themselves, I'm sorry it's been so rough for you and your little one :/ Insurance and paper work ALWAYS suck :/

< I can't even afford insurance and I am about to get tested for diabetes D:

^ for me it would probably be diabetes (sorry!), the juvenile kind more I think because of the emotional effect it has on me.  My best friend died of it at 20, if it had a face I would punch it.   I remember getting tested (when preggers) for it,  they have you drink this nasty sweet drink like kool that is wrong (after the test bring a snack or a drink with you to settle stomach)

<I have heard some people like the drink, but I never really liked the super bright colored kids drinks growing up.

V. Favorite kids drink growing up?

(No it was a guy friend)
^I LOVED to dip French fries in my milkshake and I would try to dip the other end in ketchup, so good.  Other then that I was the "good one"

<I like to cook and experiment with cooking, n food manga.  Tried making a steak dish from the manga "food wars"
it turned out pretty decent!

It was marinated in minced onions that were then used in the sauce!

V If you could try a dish from any anime what would it be?

^ YUMMY:

Not exotic, but you know what it's like to enjoy a dish so that you *know* what it smells and tastes like when you see it in a photo? Well, basic Ramen like in any hole in the wall restaurant in Japan with a sign with characters on hanging fabric flaps that read "chu-ka ra-men" (中華拉麺.)

Anime characters who are adults such as office workers often grab a bowl after work and sometimes a large bottle of beer or three. In some anime sometimes the landlady takes pity on the young, male, broke-a$$ deadbeat who somehow becomes the center of a harem show, and will defray some or all of a rent payment if the kid treats her to a bowl of 中華拉麺. I have been to a number of Stateside restaurants, but there's just something missing. When I see it in anime, I'm like "YUM-dammit I want some!"

< Had a chance to eat WHALE in Japan and it was meaty and delicious. Whaling in the US continued until the 1920s when petroleum became cheaper for lamp oil and lubricants. But many Americans in New England and San Francisco in the 19th century would have had a chance to enjoy whalemeat, and many women wore whalebone corsets. Read Melville - not just "Moby Dick," but try "Billy Budd, Foretopman."

V What other hobbies do you do that they DON'T usually have cons for, BUT you'd like to see at added to a con?
