Thought I'd put up a poll to measure the average con-goer's age, so I can know what to expect. Never been to one of these before.

And sorry if I offended anyone with putting only 28 or over as the last option, but uh...I dunno, I doubt there'll be that many people in their thirties or above going to an anime convention. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong!

I'm 18, myself, though I could easily pass for 19.

Eh, that's about right for upper age limit. The majority of con goes (from my experience) are high school and college age. Plus there's a fair number of younger ones as well, usually escorted by a parental type. The parents (from my observation) form the majority of the 28+ group. I'm 20 myself.

I think at cons its easier to get along with people older or younger than you. Or at least at Kumoricon...

XD I'm 14 myself, but have seemed to somehow make quite a few friends who are in colledge, and some juniors and seniors.

Thats probably only because there are few people in my grade at the school I go to that I actually like.

Physical age is one thing, but mental is another subject entirely!

I'm 8 years old, and I insist upon it. Even if I'll legally be able to drink on my next birthday according to my driver's license. ^.^

My Mom was the original addict in my family as well. She was always shopping at Uwajimaya and bringing home cool foreign films. ^.^ (Heh, she even got me a copy of the 1979 Toho edition of the Little Mermaid! ^.^ )

the worst part is not yet being 18. therefore, the curfew reigns doom upon me. and i cant buy swords. it also is uncool because my birthday is a mere 20 or so days AFTER SakuraCon 2005. what a tragedy

I'm the original fan in my family, but my dad is AWESOME. He's not really into Anime and all that, but he hasn't really seen any good ones yet... he makes fun of the dubs of Beyblade and Digimon and stuff when I watch them, but not in a bad way -- we all know dubs are terrible. XD

I'm 20, but every so often I still get carded when I try to see a rated R movie! :x ::sigh:: What makes it worse is my boyfriend, who is a mere month older than me, but everyone thinks he looks 35! O_o
Once at a Renfaire when we were both 16, some old drunk guy thought he was 50! (What made it worse was that we were already together at this point, and so the old guy thought my poor boyfriend was a pedifile ^^; Even though most people don't think he's *that* old, he still gets looks every so often... "Is that your baby sister?" "Um, no. She's my girlfriend" O_O)
As for mental age, I range from 3 to 100. Depending on the time of day. The earlier, the older.

and I have an 8 month old daughter. I just know she's either going to think she has the coolest parents ever... or she's going to hate anime (shudder) and think we are the biggest dweebs. There's no inbetween, so I have started early. I feed her and watch anime at the same time so that she will associate good things with anime. It's a bit devious I admit but it seems to be working.

Myself, I shall be 1,460 as of the Sunday of the convention. Others mistake me for much younger when speaking to me. My ID says I will be 23 yet I do not believe that in the least bit.
