The After(Con)math~ What stories do YOU have to tell?
« on: September 04, 2006, 01:08:25 pm »
Well, as of this moment, the con isn't officially over. But it will be in around three hours, and since it's over for me, I decided to make a thread. :D

Anyway, what stories do you have to tell?
What kind of people did you meet?
What kind of things did you do?

Bottom line--What happened?
Anything you'd like to share?

Myself, I don't have that many stories. Well, that I'm willing to...share, anyway. :)

Except one.
Late Sunday night, a bunch of my friends and I took two cars to eat at the Denny's by the Red Lion.
The first car of people left to make their way back to the hotel, and we followed. We lost sight of them, and missed the turn back to the hotel.

We ended up in Camus, Washington. :D And it took us nearly half an hour of freaking out in the dark to figure out how to get back to Oregon. (We're...directionally challenged, one could say.)

I'm still ever so amused by the fact that you miss one little turn and end up in a completley different State. :o

Anyway, that's the only story I'm willing to share at the moment. Anyone else have something they wanna share? :3

Well, this was my first ever Komoricon and I have to say I think I had a great time!  I met a lot of people which all had cool costumes.  I even saw some old friends that I haven't seen in a long time come to the convention...what a small world.
But the best part of this whole trip was because of the SSBM Tournament.  I came in 2nd place in the finals!  I couldn't believe how cool was that to come that close to winning, and I've had a couple of close shaves there too when I was battling other players.
The whole convention was an awesome experience.  I met new people, I saw how others love anime like I do, and everyone seemed to have a fun time altogether.

This was my second time going to a con. Well It was all great if you cut out the heat, LOOOOONG lines, Un-organized pre-regs and other stuff.

I do know how hard it is to run a con, so im not exactly complaining. I actually really enjoyed the con and am counting down (already) to next year! hehe..

Yea I just hope the staff gets a little more help so everyone can be happy con-goers!

I hate to 'advertise' boards on other boards, but I also hate to retype a couple paragraphs, so...

The greatest thing I got to do was the 5 hour Random Panel of Doom ^^ I made a board in the Panels forums, if you want to see what I mean

=O  I thought I saw you there!
(CrazyMahouShoujo from Gaia over here~ ;D)

Well, let's see.  I was half of the Ouran High School Host Club cosplayers in the girls' uniform~
The only other one I made friends with quickly, but I only know her as Renge-friend.

So, on Sunday there was an Ouran photoshoot in the lobby.
I was told by a Princess Mars cosplayer down the hall from there.
I was just like "=O!"
and my friend asked me "Do you want to go?"
My reply:
"jafhiahrnth YEAH~"

So I went and watched for a couple minutes, took a couple pictures for my friend of the Hunny and Mori.
Then,
RENGEFRIEND dragged me into the fray, as I was wearing the girls' uniform.  xD

Then the first Hikaru that I met pulled me in front of the couch and pretended to offer me a red rosebud.
x3
15 minutes later, my group went to lunch and I didn't seen many of them since.  D:

Then, later on, I sang karaoke for the first time ever.
I got glomped by four people afterwards and I almost fell backwards onto one of the speakers.  :o

Aaand I had so much fun at my first con, I almost cried in the car on the way home.

DUDE! FGHKFEJNM<S DUDE!!!

um...

...

I left-- my mom left-- my coke on the table by the couches in the lobby... and some... idiot... stuck a rose in there...

I came back hours later and my godforsaken coke was still full and cold... but there was a freaking rose in it oO... I was too afraid to take a drink anymore -.-

But by the end of the day I still couldn't get over it, so I took a picture of the rose... in my coke... from burger king.... gawd...

The Ouran photoshoot was so crazy. XD

The Sailor Moon one was better though because we went out to the rose garden. <3 And so we had this awsome, very Sailor Moon, location. Even if only 8 people showed up and only 3 people took pictures. :3 That was probably one of my highlights of the whole con.

Another would of course be, being the Kino fan that I am, getting the Kino no Tabi artbook. X3 I was so suprised that they had that and a Kino poster. Though when I came back today the Kino poster was gone. I can't believe there is some other Kino fan there who bought it and I don't know who it is. XD

Speaking of which I conviced my friend to be part of a Kino no Tabi cosplay group. I'm going to be Kino and she's going to be young Kino. You think she could bring her dog in to play Riku? XD I saw three cats there today.

I also might have someone to be part of a Romance (PGSM) cosplay group. :3 Ureshi~~~

Mori only said "Yeah" the entire time o_o

Yeah I saw you. I was the one that directed you over the the photoshoot. :D Long black wig, maroon dress. I bet more people would have reconised me if I wore a less obscure outfit. Oh well. I was pretty. :3)

This was my first time attending Kumoricon, and I have to say that I had such an awesome time! I had no idea what to expect at all, being a total con virgin, but I left with such great memories.

There are really too many to share all right here, but the bottom line of it all is that I will for sure being coming back next year! I already can't wait :D

Oh, that reminds me...

If you cosplay, you need to remember the name of who you're cosplaying o.o...  same if you're wearing cat ears or something.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to stop for you if they don't understand you're talking to them, really -.- either that, or that Itachi has bad hearing

Well, this was my first time at a con, and I have to say, that besides the disorganization bits, and being double-booked with a wedding, it was quite fun, though I can't think of any stories offhand, (maybe some will come to mind later, once I collect my thoughts...).
I'm not entirely certain, but I think that I saw several of you there--I was dressed as Gendo Ikari...I looked something like this:

Sorta small, isn't it? Oh well...

Oh my gosh I had such a fun time. Except for the 3-hour-eternal-lines-from-hell, but I complained about that in another thread. I got to meet Rin Rin, Leashy (Again. ^^), superjaz, and even VonDan. I even met people from Cosplay.com. I got my picture taken more times than I ever expected, and I got a lot of comments like, "Oh my god Shadow!!", "It's Shadow!", and "Hi Shadow!". It was a blast. So many more people recognized my costume this year than last year. (Maybe it's because of the release of Shadow's game?)

I even saw an Eggman cosplayer and when I went up to him he just kinda stared at me for a few seconds until he finally said, "Holy crap it's Shadow!". And he shook my hand. That moment = WIN. We then posed together and everyone who was with the Eggman cosplayer took out their cameras and took pictures. ^^

On Sunday I saw even more Sonic cosplayers. I met a Cream cosplayer early in the morning, so I talked to her and she took my picture and complimented me on my costume. ^^ She told me there was another Cream and Shadow cosplayer around too. So later that day I see them. I go up to them and talk to them in the Dealer's Room, and say that I'll see them around.

Even later that day State Alchemist (Who I attended the con with both days) and I start to get hungry and decide to go across the street to Taco Bell. On the way there this lady in her car yells at me, "What's going on?!" I then yell back, "Anime convention!". It was funny. XD When we get into Taco Bell I see the Cream and Shadow cosplayers again, along with the other Shadow cosplayer's boyfriend (Who goes by the name of Kalegei here.) who I had made plans with previously, but had to cancel due to the fact that I didn't want to have to walk over to the mall. So somehow we all end up at Taco Bell anyways. XD After eating my lunch of chips and cheese, Kalegei comes over to me and says that he wants a picture of me and his girlfriend. We then go outside of Taco Bell and the other Shadow cosplayer and I do a mini photoshoot. It was so cool. Then the Cream cosplayer gets in on the fun and jumps in the middle. That was even more awesome. So somewhere there should be pictures of two Shadow cosplayers pulling a Cream cosplayer. XD

Oh boy, it was so fun. I'll probably be posting more later. (Yes, there's more XP) I shall be forever known as Kumoricon's Shadow fanatic and cosplayer. ^^ (Especially after this year.)

Bwaha.
The con was fun this year, but i have to say, I was dissapointed...it was so disorganized and so many panels were canceled...
But otherwise it was great seeing all my friends.
Some comments people made on my gothic lolita ribbon ish costume were pretty funny. Some lady told me that my costume "spoke to her". And another girl was like "Your skirt...is orgasmic"
I was like, "....:'D"
But I think the most fun I had was this morning, as I cuddled with the Riku and Sora. xD(You prolly saw that happening, too) Good god, that Riku just loved me. Later on, when riku left, I was left with Sora, and we rounded up all the KH cosplayers for a mini photoshoot by the boat dock. My brain just now had a malfunction so I don't remember much from there. xD

Stories to tell? None! Absolutly none! I wasn't there! actually, I will have to mention that I get to see some of that con.  I thought that I wouldn't get to see any, but I managed to sneak in for the last couple of hours. I got to see the ending ceremony, look at all the cool cosplayers, and stand in a line. whoo! oh, and I got to see Cloud and Aeris DDRing.
To they guy who explained otaku to us in line: No. I wasn't supposed to be there. hehehe...

oh, and I also got to hear a crapload of people sing in line. I sang along with then a little, but I couldn't keep up with the happy chocobo music in english. where did they get those lyrics?

Oh, I can't believe I forgot the first day.  ><

Well, after waiting in one line for an hour or so, preregistered people got moved through the lobby and into another line.
As we were going through the lobby, a Haruhi and Hikaru see me, come up, and give me two fake red roses.
<3
It was great~

Then, after we get to the top of the stairs, we go inside to cool off (holy crud, it was hot out there)
and the Haruhi and Hikaru see me again, this time bringing over Renge and Tamaki.
(Copy+Pasted from Gaia)

Quote
While waiting in line, I got:

-My picture taken about four times (One RIGHT after I got there)
-Two fake roses (From a Haruhi and a Hikaru xD)
-Complimented a lot (A Tamaki, Haruhi, Renge and Hikaru called me cute x3)
-"Yay"-ed for being in the Ouran uniform
-Squeed at four times
-Recognized many, many people.

The "Cute" conversation between Tamaki, Haruhi, Hikaru, and Renge went sort of like this:
"You know, she kind of looks like that girl who hates Tamaki! =O" - Renge
"Yeah! She kinda does!" - Haruhi & Hikaru
"D:" - Tamaki
"But she's cuter than her" - Haruhi
"Yeah, much cuter" - Hikaru & Renge
"What should we call you? ^^" - Hikaru, Renge, & Haruhi
"Koto. I'm just a random person~" - Me
"=O! Then we have to be nice to her because she's a random person!" - Haruhi
"Oh yeah, huh!  Want to be loved?" - Renge
"Er...okay xD" - Me
"Yaaay, you get hugs&kisses now~" - Haruhi

So then Tamaki gives me a hug, Haruhi hugs me and handkisses me (xD), and Hikaru hugs me and cheekkisses me (ftw! xD)
Then I see them all over the place like they were stalking us, but they weren't.
Would've been cool.

I have so many stories about the con but most of them have very vulgar language or people might find them offensive (not rude) but it's just you know, we're being dorks and joking about "OMG U KNO WAT? MY FAVORITE ANIMEAL IS A NEKO OMG KWAII DESU NE YOO!!!1" and "OMG I JUST HIT MY ATAMA OMG SOOO ITAIIEEE DESU KA!!!1" being totaly Wapaense dorks on Sunday and Monday.

So I only delivered one. D:

Rar! I was Mokona, Yui from Fushigi Yugi, and SEXY PINK-HAIRED NURSE WITH PYRAMID HEAD!

The greatest highlight was Py-Head and I haunting the elevator to the gaming room. If you encountered it then AWESOME. Especially memorable people were the schoolboys (crossplayers) and our friends that waved every time in the lower lobby. We had left a sign in the elevator, but nazi's took it down.

Also, the second dance rocked! I freaked out and had a blast the whole time. I was one of the chicks that kept WoW-emoting.The kid with the floofy hair that WoW emoted with us was awesome. We briefly started a dancing Katamari Ball, and the three of us (Me, Friend, Floofy haired kid) all started the train. Huzzah.

Pyramid head and I definetly approved of YattaDante's Cloud and Zack skit. Super-Glued materia for the WIN! I also LOVED the fruits basket AMV you did. AWESOME.

Other than that, my heart is broken that baka-zoku is no longer the same </3. Chris ruled my world ;p

i don't know if i have any funny stories or anything, but I did attempt to amuse myself and those around me while I waited in the registration line.

I am, of course, the notorious fellow who got bored and decided to make a little sign that read:  "LVL 21 WARRIOR LFG."  I got some laughs and a few pictures, which is always nice.

The second day of the con was also amusing, particularly kareoke.  My friend and I sang "Ask DNA" from Cowboy Bebop, The Movie, and yes, I was quite serious when I said that I was tired of listening to songs from Inuyasha.  I must have listened to half a dozen of those within an hour.  I was the shorter and stockier of the duet, and I lacked cat ears.

I was also the guy who was running the Warhammer games in Panel 2.  I would have liked it if more people showed up, but that's ok.  We can make a better showing next year, and maybe we won't have to use my Thermodynamics book and Pocky boxes as terrain.  And to the scythe wielding maiden who kindly agreed to watch the door, I am glad that you did not have to reap any souls, though I appreciate the effort.

In conclusion, I talk alot when I type.
Ford:  It's unpleasantly like being drunk.
Arthur:  What's so unpleasant about being drunk?
Ford:  Ask a glass of water.

Do I even need to explain my story at the cosplay halftime show? (I still can't believe I did what I did)

One story that most people don't know is I was temporarily hired to line up everyone who was having their costumes judged before the cosplay contest.  For the first 30 minutes, I felt like a chicken with his head cut off.  After that things seemed to go a little smoother for me.

So even after only 2 hours of directing people, to all of con staff and yojimbo, you have my sympathy.

I walked like not 10 steps out of my hotel room and I hear a scream something like OMG ITS TOORU! Then this girl comes up and hugs me. It kinda scared me since that was the first time i ever put on the full costume and everything, but it made my con. Then only like 3-4 other people recognized me. It was fun. Sakuracon I am probably going to be tooru again and isabella from parakiss. I saw you irate, but didn't say anything... i saw kalark and trumby... and then some other gal from here on the forums... but i dont remember the name >.>

Well, let's see... pros and cons...

PROS:

- I managed to get a hold of MANY good anime items, consisting of Grenadier volume 1 (the manga, I already have the anime); Chobits manga 1; Negima DVDs 1 and 2 (special box set for the first); figures of Kasumi, Fujiko, Rangiku, Untyou, Ayane, Naru and Kanako; the Love Hina Complete Collection; Girls Bravo DVD 3; and a Negima! wallscroll.
- Got 76 pictures, the majority of which were huggle pictures. (thanks to all who hugged me, Andy will be in shock when he sees the number of Chi cosplayer pics)
- Met some interesting people, such as Kalark, Negima, animefan and Oishiidesuyo.
- Was introduced to the pure uncut awesome that is Para Para.
- Got to enjoy some good karaoke. (Mad props to the two that sang "Ai (Chuuseishin)" from Excel Saga.)
- Was amused by the cosplay contest. (The Ninja of the Night and those guys that did Konoha Confessions were AWESOME.)

CONS:

- I had to stand outside in the blazing heat for no less than 5 hours of time. I wouldn't be surprised if I shed 5 pounds from how much I was sweating.
- I didn't get every pic I wanted. (I couldn't find the Mikuru cosplayer, and I only ran into PrinCess ONCE where she didn't act like I wasn't there, though I was CLEARLY trying to talk to her.)
- Nearly got (literally) thrown for a loop by a random guy at the dance. (I ended up being the one to do the throwing. Who knew the hammer toss would be so easy?)
- Everyone made fun of me for not eating ramen. Incident 1: I was eating Taco Bell. Incident 2: I was watching the ramen contest. (I didn't participate because of the fact that it was called a Ramen FIRE eating contest. I handle spicy stuff like Osaka. [Or for those of you that know it, like Densuke from Eiken.)

That's it. Good con, I say.
06 - Naruto Uzumaki
07 - Ryoga Hibiki
08 - Kunio-kun
09 - Doctor Insano (Spoony Experiment), Seta Noriyasu
11 - Yuri Volte Hyuga

Help me make this year memorable! Take pictures with me at Kumoricon '11!

AHAHAHAHAH, holy crap that was the best! I really wish I had known about the Random Panel beforehand, because that srsly made me laugh so harddddd, holy crap.

I don't really have any stories. I LOVED being in the Ouran photoshoot, though. The Hunny-senpai won at life!! He went to Burger King with us after the shoot, and we found out that he watches FMA and likes Metal Gear Solid. LOL he loves that you can tranquilize pidgeons. I think he's my hero!! So so so so so cute! T____________T

Kotoumi, you really were cute!! We might have been subconsciously stalking you~ XD Other Ouran cosplayers are like magnets!! You just have to stick to them!

I do have a story though! Some guy at the pool called some of the Utena cosplayers Pokemon trainers, and when they saw him in the hall again, I started chasing him until he ran down the stairs, and I threw french fries at him~~~ XDDDDDDDD I did kind of run into Charlotte while I was at it, but it was so worth it!! I was on a Chi hunting mission! I think I managed to get 5 of 'em on Saturday. I was too shy and didn't want to scare off any of the cosplayers by asking to glomp them or pose with me or something. ^_^;

The people I hung out with in line were all really cool. Some guy wearing a m4d sk1llz^2 t-shirt. Another guy dressed up as a character from Naruto. The guy with all the various weapons and whatnot. Basically anyone I talked to was cool as heck.

I saw a lot of people from last year, too. Took plenty of pictures. In fact, it's most of what I spent my time doing. And occasionally talking to random people. I ran into the Spike(!) cosplayer I saw the last year before, too. What a badass. In fact, I dare say that the Spike character from Cowboy Bebop is actually based on him.

Like I said I took a ton of pictures.. dunno when I'll post them.. is anyone interested in seeing them? ^_^;

I was kinda dissapointed in the anime dating game. I thought people were actually going to act like their anime charatcers when they were called up there instead of just having anyone called up there. So I left to go to karoke which was fun. I also got to try para para for the first time.

As always..... BAKAZOKU ROCKED.... I hope they stay and come in 2008 when I can go to their 18+ panel. Amv and Cosplay show was great! LINES WERE TOOO LONG. And It ticked me off people who were a;; there for the auction got to stay there for the closing ceremoney when we were waiting in line forever.

So a funny story..... During the cosplay contest wait in line, they were throwing T-shirts out to everyone, and one smaked my sister right across the face and broke her glasses.

Oh, my sister wants to know.
Whats the deal with the guy that got beat up?

They'd be great to see. It's always good seeing con pics that people took.

This was my second time at Kumoricon (I attended for the first time last year and it rocked) and this year's Kumoricon was very worth going to. I had as many good memories from this year as I did last year.
Some of the experiences I had at the con were:
Getting a lot of good pictures.
Playing Story Story Die (I was the one who made all the bathroom references and didn't really think of the raw sewage reference being bathroom-oriented and I would've attempted to come up with something different had I done so).
Making cat ears (they didn't turn out good at all, but it was a cool experience nonetheless).
Interacting with a lot of cool fangirls at Fangirl Support Group.
Interact with an extremely obsessed Zelos fangirl who went crazy every time she saw me, but she was a cool person and was good being around.
Cat Girl Pool Party. I had a good time interacting with the people who were there and Kumoricon should do that event again.
Having dinner at Shenanigans with some cool FMA fans and I enjoyed showing other fans my FMA book.
Interacting with some artists who had some great fan art.
Attending Fanfic Bedtime and watching the FMA movie parody.

Heh, this just happened today in fact:

Someone had placed a rather...obscene...looking pink tube balloon in the hole on the elevator door.  We pressed the button, expecting it to pop when the doors opened.  Instead the balloon...ermm...managed to do something even more obscene-looking, then fell to the ground, un-popped.  Silence...then:  "Don't worry, I'm sure it happens to lots of balloons"...xD  This event was made even better by the fact that A. someone was video taping it and B. we put the balloon back in the door for other people to enjoy.

I went on the merry-go-round twice.  x3
In my dress.
So I got to sidesaddle. x3
Man, that thing was fast.

The first time, my friend (the Slytherin I always was hanging out with) and I got on for the last ride of the night on Saturday.
"Aren't we lucky~?  =3"

The second time was right after the photoshoot on Sunday.
The same guy took our tokens and he said "You guys look familiar"
We just "Ehe ^^" and found horses.

But right before that, some cosplayers who were at the table behind us were just all "More cosplayers!  Yeah! *highfives*"

By the way, if anyone saw me, I sang a song from Sister Princess during free mic in the Karaoke room.
I was shaking so much and beet red, but with my SPF 15 coverup you couldn't really see that...>>

Cool. I was gonna ask for a pic from her earlier in the day but never got the chance. So I assume by Slytherin you mean Harry Potter, right? I'd hate to go up to someone and be like "HEY IT'S A HOGWARTZ STUDENT!!11" and then they look at me like "I HATE YOU" and run away crying because they're actually from some obscure anime or something.

The greatest thing I got to do was the 5 hour Random Panel of Doom ^^ I made a board in the Panels forums, if you want to see what I mean

OMG the bigger or better game. XD I was walking around with Mori who was asking people for panties. It was ummm... special. XD

AHAHAHAHAH, holy crap that was the best! I really wish I had known about the Random Panel beforehand, because that srsly made me laugh so harddddd, holy crap.

Wait... you wish you would have known about the random panel before hand?

...

No one knew about the random panel. As one of the original four, I didn't even know about it. But hey, 5 1/2 hours of buttoning goodness... oh man. That was truly the best.

LOL o rly. Though what I meant is that I wish I had found out before it had passed the 5-hour mark, because that's when we got asked about donating a bra... XD

Yeah, I'd hate to get pigeonholed into that group. Seriously though, Harry Potter cosplayers rule. If I had any sort of skills, I'd cosplay as a Hogwarts student for the next movie. :\

programming was fun, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of stuff to do, and the seemingly disorganized feel to the convention.

also, I did NOT like being glomped/attacked/hugged/stroked/petted in the hall with out being asked if it was okay first. D:

Yeah Yeah, Haruhi finally decided to get an account on the forums.  But this thread was too great to pass up!

There were SOOOO many interesting stories we had.  I was mainly hanging out with the rest of the Ouran group (I was the Haruhi hanging around Tamaki ((Spicylemon)) most of the time, by the way.)  Let's see..

There was constantly telling Roy to do a barrel roll...
Getting my name written down in the Death Note for telling Raito to do a barrel roll...
Renge-kun doing a barrel roll down the hall...
Going "BARREL BARREL BARREL BARREL" to Ashton...

Okay, enough of barrels.

Well, there's a story about Haruhi's present to Tamaki, but that's getting kinda whut whut there, so... XD XD XD XDXDXD

We attempted to do the opening theme dance that they do, and failed, because Tamaki's rose was too long, and I got smacked in the face. XD  And Kyouya and I were cracking up too badly.

And there was going to Burger King with Mori-sempai carrying Hunny-sempai on his shoulders...So cuuuuute~!!!  Our Mori-sempai was so wonderful~!  And Hunny-sempai was just so sweet!!

The photoshoot was WAAAAAAAAY too much fun, even if I was like crying inside because my voice was all scratchy and my lips were dry. ;_; THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI FUJIOKA~~~~~~

And Karaoke!  Woah, Karaoke was SO much fun!  I got to sing Ai (Chuuseishin) and be Hyatt!! XD XD XD  SOOO fun, and then singing Sakura Kiss and having sooooo much fun, and then getting to be the audience member who went up and did the Menchi song...

Sooo fun.  God, and loving on all the other host clubs we saw...HAPPY~~~

Oh, and there was also running in frantically with Tamaki to go watch Ouran.  We were like "AHHHHHHH OURAN OURAN OURAN OURAN OURAN OURAN" and ran as fast as we could to the front row. XD XD XD XD XD  So crazy.

And then there's a whole bunch of other stuff but OH GOD THIS THING IS GETTING WAY TOO LONG so I'll shut up.

>_> <_<  I loved the con so much this year!  I had so much fun, even though I was mostly just standing or walking aimlessly around XD  I love Bakazoku so much that I stayed for Closing Ceremonies just to see them xD And I'm glad I did cause that AMV contest winner's video was great! XD  I know for a fact next year I'm dressing up because... For me - I'm only confident in a costume and admit it xD  it's SO much more fun at a convention when you dress up xD

My highlight of the con ._.  I shall NEVER forget, for as long as I live.
I was sitting in like.. the sixth row at the Cosplay, watching Bakazoku preform and I decide 'I'm gonna scream GO TOM RIDDLE while everyones clapping'  Well... the second I yell that, everyone goes quiet O_O Erm.. bad timing? And then the Tom Riddle (Someone Tell me his name so I can worship him xD) comes to the front of the stage and says "WAIT!  I have minions!"  Or something to that effect and makes his fangirls scream on que.  I'm not sure how many people in conventions randomly scream out stuff and get responses, but that just made my day... Of Course I didn't get his picture til the last day in the dealers room and was too shy to talk to him ._.  Oh well. XD  Anywho!

I loved the Ouran Host club gathering!!  I squealed.. O_o loudly... XD  I just loved the little Honey-Senpai too!  I almost ran into him when my group was entering the creation station XD  So cute!  By the way... It was so crowded I couldn't get in there, how was it? :D  I wanted to make it to the copic marker workshop but didn't -_-  I was too frazzled to make it on time xD

And on the cosplay note - The line was huge! >_<  And in the middle of waiting for seating, we all started singing Sponge bob Square pants xD  >> << I also loved all the yaoi references and regret being under 18 For I would SO have gone to the Bakazoku 18+ panel and the anime dating game.  If anyone was there for the adult anime dating game - Was it any good?  I've seen a few videos of dating games from other cons but have never witnessed one myself xD

So yeah, if you couldn't tell already, I'm a convention noob xD  Everything I didn't witness last year made me so happy, but probably was the norm for everyone else xD  >_> Sorry for the random long reply, I had to say it all XD [Insert tiny ebil laugh] =3

My con was cut short Sunday night by a very stupid accident. I was trying to get around the back row of the Creation Station just before Bedtime Stories to try and get a reader for my AzuDai entry, and I, to use the colloquial phrase, "fall down, go boom". I tripped on a chair leg and landed right on my knee, which hurt like the dickens. I finally ended up having to take a cab home at 1 in the morning so that I could get some real rest without the TV on and put some IcyHot (topical ointments seem to bring me the most relief when my back, which I have a recent history of problems with, flares up) on my joints and back.

However, a bunch of good stuff happened too. The artist's alley was the most fun for me -- talking with artists, buying the occasional small piece and getting a very nice commission was worth asll the trouble I went to. and the line into the Exhibit Hall on Saturday was raucous to say the least.

Despite the transportation difficulties involved late at night, the Jantzen Beach location was pretty good for this con. The main problem is that nowhere in any of the things in the bag was I able to find a map of the hotel. BIG problem when trying to find things. I also regretted the lack of inexpensive Japanese food on the island -- there were a lot of times when I would have murdered a large beefbowl.

I was extremely happy to find a copy of the new manga Because I"M the Goddess!, a very funny fantasy/comedy/adventure/romance that looks quite promising.

I got to commiserate with Tiffany Grant on the woes of poor Kaorin, the character she played in Azumanga Daioh.

PROS:
- Was amused by the cosplay contest. (The Ninja of the Night and those guys that did Konoha Confessions were AWESOME.)

Yay! We're famous!

Well, my best story has to do with the cosplay. I found out my group was doing a cosplay (Konoha Confessions), and I really wanted to be in one because I got replaced in another. So I asked the one who organized the skit (The one who played Sakura) and she threw me in last second, which was awesome. She basically was like "Well, we need an intermission, so why don't you go up and say stuff." The guy who played the Kakashi and I organized him dropping his book and then the fun little jokes that came out of it (GAI SENSEI!?). The man who talks like a woman bit was thanks to the Sakura, and I just felt like saying that I was super and going Yaoi on everyone. It was amazing, as they dragged me off, I tripped on the microphone cord and just started laughing on the groud for a while.

I'm a little disappointed that we didn't earn any awards for our skit, but we had a heck of a fun time doing it. Thanks to everyone that cheered us on and laughed at our awesome yaoi filled skit. :D

edit: I think I forgot to mention, I was the Urahara Kisuke. The one bleach character out of (8?) Naruto characters. XD

Just not a fan of 'em, that's all. I could list the reasons why, but I won't. I suppose calling someone a "dub watcher" is essentially an insult on their geekiness.

Okay So here's my story...I had such a great time...but i was getting annoyed(you'll see why...)
For those of you who may need to know. I cosplayed as ALUCARD from hellsing,I must say I was proud to be the only female alucard there...I had such a great time,But I was getting ANNOYED with alot of people saying stuff like "Where in the world in carmen sandiego" I know its all just in good fun,But I heard it like 15 times from different people...It was annoying.I took a picture with like 3 ceras victoria...very fun,and then I found the one victoria that I been crushing on abit and sat like a few chairs away from her,Chris Sees us and he was like "YOU AND YOU YOUNG LADY GET UP HERE!" And made us pose LOL. I was so very happy and excited(afterwards) when Ceras Victoria came up to me and asked to "Walk" around with her as her alucard! I found integra ONCE on saturday I think...Never saw her afterwards til the Rave party...The next day,I brought my digital camera so I could take pics of me and Seras victoria just for the hell of it...But I have pictures on myspace...I will post the bigger pictures in a blog...But yea...She was cosplayed as someone eles...I didnt REGONIZE her at all,She actually grabbed my arm and im like "huh? Who are you?" LOL. I let her find her friend and let her hang with her friend...and just wondered around...and performed crappily to the hellsing themesong in the karoake room...XD I then find my friend in her victoria cosplay AGAIN...and that time my sister was gone...We found integra and I almost glomped her to death. I was litterally weak in the knees when I met the integra cosplayer(look don't ask...Integra and well cosplayers of integra I definetly have the hots for!) and we took lots of pictures...We went to dinner and all that stuff...They were so very sweet and kind to me,I dont know them well but they mean the world to me just for allowing me to be and spend time with them majorly :) I'll write the rest in my blog and whatnot...Getting tired...

so i was a total first time cosplayer and had never gone to a con before this one. So the first day i went as kairi and got quiet a few pics taken but i was competly nervous so that was fun.

The next day i went as sephiroth cause i was going to be in a skit and mind u never gone to a con so ii went walking around the halls and went and watch my friends yatta dante and yatta clouds panel which was anime hunters by the way it was amzing :) but right after that got done i passed by the fan girl support group panel room ( lil did i know what i got myself into) i got draged into the room and was glopmed a million times lol i made it out in one piece though but anyways then we did our skit later that night, i was so nervous because i have never done  a skit before but we did the battle you never saw coming skit and won best in show!!!!

All and all i had so much fun and my sephiroth costume was supposed to be a joke because i am so short but it turned out well and i would like to thank i the real great people i meet for an  awsome first con :)

Hey Micheal, dude there was a map to the hotel in the very front of the schedule book.

Kairi I loved your Sephiroth outfit and got a great pick of you with my sis in the Jenova outfit.  BTW if anyone wondered about her apron it was supposed to say worlds best mom.

I just gotta say this con was awsome I was rooming with the three lights, a Sexy-no-jutsu Sasuke, Jenova, and Man-Yuna. I was Cid with a spear instead of a mop.  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Ooooh, so much to say and so lazy to type. XD; For two days I felt cool and got to be a pimp, I was Irvine Kinneas. 8) A crappy one, but I was sure hugged a lot none the less. o.O; So I am sad to have to go back to being an uncool loser. T^T Buh-bye confidence. But anyways, it was so great, all the hugs. XD; I'm usually not a hugger, but Kinneas sure is. X3
Though I think if one more person asked me why I missed the shot I was gonna take another shot and not miss, and that time I wouldn't be aiming at the sorceress. >.>;; They saw the game, they knew! *cough-minirant-cough*
I was so freakin' happy, got awesome seats at the cosplay contest! The group with the people in... okay so I have no idea what they're outfits were but one of them was a nurse type with a 666 mouth thing over her face... they were awesome! I loved them and wish I knew more about their outfits... or had gotten their pictures. T___T
The FF Shoot! That was my first one, sooooo freakin' awesome, and once again I got to be a pimp. 8) I loved seeing all the FF cosplayers, just wish I could have seen them a bit more throughout the con, for some reason I could never find them again. ;___; I have no sense of direction. Though am I the only one who thought the shoot dispersed rather quickly? Or perhaps I was having so much fun time flew. >>;;
What else... oh, I got molested and groped... it was... weird. >> The petting of my "fuzzy chaps" (quoted by fangirl) I didn't mind... too much... once again: awkward. But the groping I rather did mind. Not only did it turn my face beet red but seriously, only my boyfriend can do that. >>;;; So I have learned to watch out for crazy groping fangirls. *shudders*
PIANO SQUALL! Oh damn I was so honored to be in a pic with him, my friend Tifa practically pushed me into a pic with him, I came to his shoulder!!! XD; Though I was sad I didn't get a poster. ;_; But I donated to the cause anyways. ^^ His show was amazing, otaku + musician = <333
Downsides of the con: lack of pictures as my mem cards messed up, the lack of FF8 cosplayers, being molested and groped. T___T Met one Squall who seriously rocked though, espicially on DDR, DAMN! I was getting dizzy just watching. XD; Though most the time I was surrounded by FF7 cosplayers and had no place in pictures. T^T;; Even crappy Irvines want to be lurved!
Haha, I'll end this here before I write a novel, this has been my best kumoricon yet and already can't wait for next year!!!

I would have to say that the best part for me was running around with my Raito (I was L) and killing people with out Death Note (we were the ones who wrote out deaths on the little pieces of paper). But then we thought people hated us so we were just like Damn... But then the next day someone was like: "Oh you were the ones handing out deaths, there were totally people in the lobby at like 1:30am going around in a circle and reading those to eachother, how come I didn't get one." It was awsome.

The other best part was meeting the cutest Misa Misa and dancing in a circle with her and Raito.

As a member of the staff, you have no idea how much this thread means to me.

All the blood, sweat, and tears (literally in all cases) that we put into this is worth it to hear that you all enjoyed it.

And I will say most seriously that for those of you who saw the problems this year that if you want to see the con grow and get better, PLEASE GET INVOLVED.  We need you.  Volunteer or become staff.   Just saying this needs to happen or that needs to happen is one thing, but being a person that puts it into action is quite another.

Come to meetings and get involved!  Please!  For the love of all that's good!

As for my view of this year's con...

I got to see first hand the many issues already mentioned earlier, especially with registration and the lines.  Now that I'm outside of it and not directly standing there and not actively trying to deal with all the technical issues, I see the opportunities we have to make the con better for all of you in the future, and I know without a doubt that I want to be one of the people that brings that to fruition.

I was able to see and hang out with a lot of people I already knew and loved.  I got to know my fellow staff members a lot better and shared in the mayhem with them.  Saw a lot of familiar faces of returning con goers, which always made me smile.  Met a lot of people that I knew from the boards, but were seeing them in person for the first time.  And I made quite a lot of brand new friends.

And I actually was able to visibly see Greg Dean during the con, which was something I wasn't able to do last year due to schedule conflicts.

To really list every person that made this con a memorable experience would take forever, but I appreciate every single one of you.

This year was worth the effort, most certainly, and I definitely look forward to helping make next year bigger, better, and more smooth than ever.

Oh, and btw, to the person with the white van and a ton of markers, I love you.
Take a chance 'cause you might grow

It would have made her really happy.

We might be going back next year, but she'll probably cosplaying from Ouran.

Dont worry really,It was funny the first two times but after hearing it SO MANY times from other people...It just got abit annoyin,But I understand ;) But Carmen sandiego has brunette hair and red lipstick and all that jazz...I can understand people were doing it cause i had feminine boots(I wanted my alucard cosplay to have abit of feminity to it) red hat and red coat...So yea I understand completly LOL
The person with the white van with markers belongs to my victoria cosplayer I was walking around(it belonged to her mother to the least) :D
But also back to the carmen sandiego comments...My master pretty much protected me. I love her. Because she's the first integra cosplayer i've met in person...She's officially my master weither or not she's integra XD

Oh, I saw the van on Sunday after the Ouran photoshoot/lunch=O

A Shampoo cosplayer was drawing herself on it.  xD  It was cute.

But we couldn't get a good look at it because if we didn't hurry, we'd have missed the showing of Ouran in the second viewing room.

It would have been ironic if it were in the Third viewing room. ;D

Story Story Die was great. I loved slipping into character when it switched to FMA. And it was much fun shooting the guy who used too much potty humor and then becoming the "official" executioner afterwards.

Also "molesting" the resturaunt statues with another Riza. That was freaking hillarious.

The FMA photoshoots were some of my favorite parts too. So much silliness.
Unable to come this year. Sorry guys...

I have a few stories...
I think my favorite point was, as weird as it sounds, being in line waiting for cosplay, my friend jumped under some random persons parasol and we ended up talking with these people for the whole time we were in line...
Sadly none of us had any paper or anything to give contact info.
But it was fun.  A friend of mine that didn't get to go loves tacos and they were kind enough to find the girl dressed as a taco for us since they were apparently friends and I got a picture for him.  He was estatic when we told him...  (If any of our line buddies read this.....HI!)
We were impressed by enough skits for cosplay that we didn't feel the need to hug them in all of our sweatiness...

Besides that I enjoyed walking around with my friend while she was Reno...I felt like I should have had fangs though in my outfit.
It was crazy, I didn't expect as many pictures of us to be taken and hope to find some of them because we didn't really get to take many ourselves.

Third Kumori for me, and it got better and better.

Spent most of my time in the game room, as I'm in insatiable gamer.  Played a ton of Melty Blood: Act Cadenza on the PS2.  If you were there playing it too, I was Halcyon in the camoflauge jacket.  Got to know a fellow fighting game player from last year better this year, and overall had a good experience.

I told myself that this year, I'd better partake in the culture of anime, but wince Melty Blood was there, that didn't happen, LOL!

Oh yes, one more short story:

So my friend Loren and I were playing our usual Sunday game of "Axis and Allies Minis" at Kumori, since our usual game store had closed down permanently, and we had nowhere else to play.  On day 1, I saw him at the con, and we talked and decided that we'd try a game on Day 2, and that's what we did.  However, when we were playing, this guy from a newspaper comes in and starts taking pics of us for a school paper(I think...)!  This is pretty signifigant because we used to play at the rec-room of our school, MHCC, and we were in the school newspaper there as well.  So now hopefully we'll be appearing in yet another school paper.

Yeah... A rather interesting Kumori-Con to say the least. Our room was interesting... These were the people that were in it.

Cid Highwind with spear, Jenova, Man-Yuna, and the Three Lights.

By the way, I was Taiki Kou. I was in a yellow suit Sunday and Monday.

To Yojimbo, I understand your stress with lines and getting everyone to stand against one side. I got roped into it at Sakura-Con when I was staff, and believe me, those lines can be harder to control at times.

Anyways... On to the stories!

My cosplay group, Blackmail on Cosplayers, and I were standing in line waiting to go on stage, when Mike (Stark) came around and was telling the performers that we had to be quite when the auidence came in. He came right up behind me and put his hand on my shoulder as he was telling me this. I looked at him after he was done talking and said, 'You just had to that, didn't you?' Ugh, me in all my luckiness of Mike knowing I'm a four-year Kumori-Con Cosplay vet.

Monday afternoon, about half an hour or so before the Dealer's Room closed, I was standing outside it with some friends, when a Haruhi cosplayer screamed Taiki and about attacked me. I was shocked that someone actually recognized me without my Seiya. I told her that I had a Seiya around there somewhere. Lo and behold out walked my friend Bre (Seiya.) The Haruhi cosplayer took her picture with us. It's an amusing picture because it's me holding Haruhi and then Bre and I presenting her roses, while I'm holding her.

This story is just plain amusing to me...

I was searching around for Negima to give him something Sunday night, and I couldn't find him anywhere it was so frustrating. So, I sat down next to Klint and Scooby (I know his name, can't spell it,) on the ledge in front of the breakfast area and just talked with them. About twenty minutes later, Negima starts to walk down the hall towards us. I point at him and yell about how hard he is to track down and such. He comes over and I hand him one of the roses I was carrying around. Hehehe... That was fun. ^_^

On Monday, I stole Tom Riddle's journal and got close to getting away with it into the Girl's Bathroom, when Negima caught me. Saddness. But, I couldn't stop laughing when I told some of my friends the story on the way home. It was so highly amusing. ^_^ I still love you Negima, I just want your journal damn it! *shakes fist at you*

We didn't make them. Catgirl Rin-Rin made them for me. They're for a friend who is very obsessed with the Starlights. But I thought, what the heck, we can carry them around with us and use them in our skit...

Taiki: When did Yaten become such an idiot?
Seiya: Maybe when he changed his name.
Taiki: Shouldn't we go save him?
Seiya: Nah, lets go for ice cream insteand.
Taiki: Sounds good. <Holds out his arm for Seiya and they walk off stage>

For the last time. That was not Yaoi! >.< *coughs* Sorry, my Seiya and I will do Yuri. *laughs*Just kidding.

EDIT: All done.

Oh well. XD  Anywho!

It's all blurring together for me but I've already typed up my own convention reports on my livejournal (username tee_moss) and sent out the Pocky Club update newsletter.

I remember getting to watch the Kirari Super Live concert at Sailor Moon Live Action Advanced the second night, it was the first time I got to see it and it was awesome. Especially when the characters talked to audience members.

Early on when I was first wearing my Pocky Shogun helmet I nearly got knocked over when like, 5 people at once tried to grab pocky out of it. That's when I started handing it out instead. Right after that though the staffers over at the exhibitor's hall held my arms while Eric tried to eat the helmet itself (and my giant pocky). It was pretty fun though, I enjoyed being recognizable.

I heard that Waffles was talking to someone and they didn't believe that I was actually Tom the Fanboy. They were all "No way!"

I loved hanging out after the con at the yojimbo pizza party and watching the last half of AMV Hell 0. It really is better when you know what not to look at.

One of the things I'll remember the most was that the vendors RAN OUT OF POCKY! I mean that's crazy! If we hadn't stocked up BEFORE the convention we would have been totally screwed. Thank you all for coming to the Pocky Club panel and donating so much money!

I wish I could have seen the person who was cosplaying as Jenova in her costume. She was telling me and my friends about it in the lobby at the Oxford Hotel after the convention ended Monday.

This was my first convention and my first time wearing a costume for something other than Halloween or a play, so that was alot of fun. I was really shy though, I had a hard time building up the words to socialize with people. I feel kind of stupid for that, because there’s LOTS of people I would have loved to gotten to know better.

Anyway, my costume was Gaara. I was the only one wearing shorts. I also didn't have my gourd since the head fell off right before the convention. I'll have pictures of it's reconstruction with the pictures that I'll be uploading from the convention for anyone who wants to see them. I was originally building the costume for Halloween, but I happened to learn about this convention from browsing the net back at around the end of July, so I was like "well hey, that looks like fun." So me and my friends brought our costumes, though they were still a bit rough. ^_^

Anyway, some memorable events for me at the convention...

Well, since I couldn't make it to Portland on Friday nor Saturday (had to work) I only got to play on Sunday and Monday. Sunday morning when I arrived with my buds to pick up our weekend passes, with in the first couple minutes of being there, this guy dressed as Gai Sensei (I thought he was Lee at first, because I can never tell the difference between the two characters anyway) yelled out my character name, so he had me stand in the lobby with him and someone who actually was dressed as Lee.

It took us like two minutes to get into places. I was having a hard time following directions; I was so confused and overwhelmed already by the amount of people...

So anyway, we did an awesome pose for a scene of Gai holding a broken and beaten Lee while crying and with Gaara (me) standing to the side acting all cruel and quiet.

This was my first real experience with the picture taking. I had already had my picture taken one or two times while getting my pass, but during this pose all these people stopped and were taking pictures like crazy. The poor guy dressed as Gai had to of felt exhausted from holding Lee for so long. I was feeling kind of pooped too, all those flashes. My eyes are sensitive to light unfortunately. ;_;

Then some more Naruto cosplayers gathered around and we did another pose, with Gai doing the splits on the floor. And again pictures were being taken like crazy. I don't know how much time passed between these two scenes, but it felt like a long time. Not that it was a bad thing. I loved it.

Hmm... oh, my friend who was dressed as Sakura is going to be in the Portland Tribune. A photographer came and took a picture of her for it, so that was awesome.

I was so tired Sunday, hadn't had any sleep since Thursday, only short naps, so I ended up falling asleep in one of the halls. A group of girls gathered around me and something woke me up, then one of them gave me a hug. I lost my balance and fell on my butt, so then another one came flying into me, tackle-hugging me (glomp, right?). Then another one landed on top of me, and another one. It was a Gaara-pile-up. Then this other girl who I had kept bumping into all around the convention popped out of no where and started messing with my hair. I think she was giving me a noogie. It was all good though. ^_^

Lets see... I broke a lamp in the Oxford lobby on accident after the convention. Busted that sucker up really good. Serves it right for flashing me.

Actually my elbow had hit the table and the table fell over, the lamp going with it. I didn't get in trouble though, the management came in and said the table wasn't supposed to be there, and the foot was hanging off the edge/lip of the carpet, so it obviously had little balance. Still I felt a bit embarrassed.

I loved the Karaoke. This one cosplayer was dressed as Edward from FMA, she was awesome. Actually all the singers were awesome, just she impressed me the most with this one song she sang. She was delivering the words so fast it was hard to keep up.

And uh, I got two bloody noses after the convention! Must have been from all the hugs I got. Har har... actually the nose bleeds aren't that interesting, but the guy at a gas station I stopped at was pretty scared. He asked me what had happened, and I told him some old lady whooped my butt in the parking lot. He looked mortified, seeing me with two black eyes (from my Gaara make up) and I had blood all over my hands, my shirt, and my face. He asked me "is she still out there?" I started laughing and told him I was only kidding, then he was like "oh thank god. If some old lady could do that, all I have to say is dayum."

All and all this was the most fun I had in a long time. I am planning to go to the Sakura-Kon next year, which next time I am going to try and not be as quiet. If I seemed kind of cold or what not to anyone, I apologize. I just felt a little overwhelmed by the number of people...

I'm sure I have other stories I'd like to share, but I can't remember anything else at the moment. When my pictures are done developing, I'll post a topic or something and maybe share some more stuff if anyone is interested. ^_^

Well, one of my duties there was a guest liaison (man, that's an odd word).  My guests were Tiffany Grant & Piano Squall.  One day, all of the guests, members of the relations department, and, I think that's it, went to eat out.  I learned that both Tiffany & Mike (Piano Squall) are not that much into alcohol.  The group also made some cannibal jokes, as Tiffany said she'd eat my arm if she wasn't fed soon.

WAIT!!!!! There was pocky in there!?! DAMNNIT!!!!! So all those times I saw you and I was craving pocky it was just right there for the taking..... Darn..... :D I'll get you and you're pocky boxes too next Kumoricon Tom!

This was my first time being at Kumori-Con because I was told it was similar to the old Sakura-Con.  So I enjoyed myself throughly.  I was walking around with my friends mostly just checking the place out, one of my friends being the Kanti (FLCL) cosplayer.  xD  Couldn't walk around without stopping every 5 steps or so.  My bf helped make a majority of his costume so it was cool to see all the reactions to it.

I'm also a Pullip doll collector, and it was my first time seeing the dealers room carry ANYTHING Pullip-related so that was the only thing I ended up buying.

At closing ceremonies, I found out that my design won the mascot contest.  I was stoked!  My friend cried for me.  But I also think she cried because it was her last con. T^T

I had a blast and I'm totally going next year, how can I not?! xD

Story Story Die was great. I loved slipping into character when it switched to FMA. And it was much fun shooting the guy who used too much potty humor and then becoming the "official" executioner afterwards.

I was the one who did all those bathroom jokes. When I mentioned the joke that got me eliminated (the raw sewage reference), I didn't think of it as bathroom humor and had I realized that it was pretty bathroom-related, I wouldn't have mentioned it and would've tried to come up with something different and will be more careful next time I play Story Story Die.  I'm not disappointed that I went out that way, though and I'm glad that you enjoyed shooting me. Plus, it was cool seeing you at that event. I liked the job you did playing Story Story Die.

Also "molesting" the resturaunt statues with another Riza. That was freaking hillarious.

I enjoyed taking that picture. I plan on getting my pictures developed soon and will post them when I do so.

Mars: At the pool party, I was the guy with the long brown hair and red shorts. It's good hearing from you again and I hope to hear more from people who were at that party.

I had an.... interesting experience >_>"""""

So on sunday evening me this dude who was crossplaying and a few girls were talking just outside of the gaming room, and somehow we got to talking about yaoi (much like everything that happend at k-con boiled down to yaoi :P)

Well it eventually somehow turned into the bunch of girls there wanting me to kiss the boy on the cheek(I am straight btw :P), I was like ok and fake kissed (you know like turn the cheek and kiss air kinda thing), then the girls were like; "no no on the lips!!!!!!*giddy noise*" :P.

I said, "uhhh thats okay, you should kiss her though *XD face*". After doing it the 4 girls turned toward me and said that I had to now because they kissed. And of course when I refused they said in a loud voice something about yaoi and more girls walked over, and me being the kind of person who does crazy things when the spotlight is on him, I ended up making out with him >_<""""
Tasted like ritz crackers >_>"
It was interesting :P
I did get a kiss from one of the girls for doing it :3

I was the guy you hugged on Monday! And to narrow that statement down a little, I shall say what you said to get my attention: "Eyebrows!". I'm glad you posted, because as soon as I walked away I thought "wait, she was cool, I should have gotten her forum name". :3

And in that story the waitress thought you said a  blank blank #ucker, for your drink. That had us giggling for a while.

Ummm story, yea, in our hotel room the first night one of the guys had turned on the hair conditioner full blast and so me and my friend (who were next to it) woke up spooning each other because it was so freaking cold. It's a lot more funny in person.

who then got roped iinto a photo shoot with a guy hugging his leg saying "i'll fallow you anywhere!"
down side, in the minits i wasnt doing (delivering pocky skits ect) any thing i felt super sleepy and tired, now i've been to cons before being 4 year vt as well i didnt know the deal i do now i was fight a cold and i woke up with strep throat,i'm just glad it waited till after my birthday party last night
i got all 3 zim dvds (i already had i ) a gir keychain  blues brother movie and chop sticks

Ha! That Mustang was me! I want a picture of that photoshoot so bad! Anyone who has the Mustang miniskirt pose picture let me know! Sorry I couldn't spend more time with you guys, being Yojimbo is crazy busy >_<

Another thing I remember is that I had to yell at Greg Dean to use the right door in the Dealers' Room to exit, heh. He said something to the effect of "You don't even know who I am, do you?" jokingly and I said "Of course I know who you are, but you still need to go out the other door!" XD. For some reason I thought it was hillarious to be telling one of my favorite comic artists that he had to go out the other door.

They almost got him Coke for lunch! O_O Then they didn't and it turned out they were getting Pepsi anyway, but I made sure to let everyone know that Coke was not an acceptable substitute. Yarr.

I'm sure I have lots of other fun stories, but mostly they're all buried in a haze of craziness and exhaustion. Working opening to close and getting very little sleep tends to do that to a guy. The miniskirt pose with the FMA photoshoot group is easily my favorite thing that happened during the general con (I had so much trouble keeping a straight face), but the yojimbo staff party was pure awesome in a can. Thanks to all of you who attended the con and all the other staffers, I think we had one of our best Kumoricons yet this year, despite the registration line fiasco!

You shall never get my journal!  You hear me?  NEVER! ^_^
I didn't realize you were taking it to the Girl's Bathroom.
I never before realized how hard it is to run with cloak while carrying stuff.

Well, guys can't follow me in there. That's why I was running to it. ^_^ Yay for weekend fun!

There was a moaning Myrtle too no one told me about a moaning Myrtle.  There were 3 cosplays I wanted to see Myrtle Velma and Willow

On Sunday four people walked up to tell me about the Velma and if I cought the Bakazou show.  I missed the Saturday show and had a game on Sunday night.   The last two to tell me about the Velma I expressed how I would like to see the Velma and then the guy next to them turned out to be Bakazou Chris?  So I spot the Velma later that night waiting for the elevator and my inner monologue says “mmmmmm the Velma” in a Barry white voice. Chris appears out of no ware and leads her down the stairs really fast

I had a blast and I'm totally going next year, how can I not?! xD

Since that mascot is yours, you kinda have an obligation to go.  Hope to see you there!

I found the airsoft guns and suddenly turned into Winry instead of Riza. The whole thing about it being nice and shiney, and the weight being very comfortable, it sounded nice, and how I wanted to take it apart and see how it worked and put it back together again.

...

If you knew my family you'd TOTALLY understand. I think my dad wants to play with the thing more than I do! It's a pretty Desert Eagle.

And trading pocky with a wolfwood for a bag of pretzels and an energy drink. Pocky gets you so far in con-life...

My desert eagle! *pets it* Allllllllll mine! At least...when my dad is stealing it from me.

Another good time:

Calling my friend short multiple times and have her almost kill me. Man that was fun. Especially when she started shaking for like a minute straight before totally losing it in Taco Bell after I told a Winry to call her short and she almost jumped me. Good times, good times.

Hmmn..Lessee..XD Okay, when I was heading back to my room once to get some snacks or more water or something this dude started walking next to me and was all talking about how he was happy that apparently someone found his camera and he turns to me and asks if I was supposed to be Neji, which I said yeah to and then he said something about my cosplayerness then corrected himself and said crossplayer...Then he asked for a hug. Or was that before...Ah well. It was cool because it felt like he mistook me for a guy which XD Is awesome to me.

And then when a friend of mine and Itachi were hanging outside the dance infront of the girls bathroom a girl goes in and suddenly I went "My eyes can see all...BYAKUGAN!" While staring fiercely at the wall before grinning all perverted Neji like and then Itachi was all "SHARINGAN! No, wait! That copies! Crap!" Or something like that.

And uhhh....Oh when I was sitting on a couch on Saturday I saw teh awesome Gai-sensei Chris and the exchange was something like:
"Gai sensei!"
"My student!"
*Hug*
"The youth is with me today, Sensei!"
"....That sounds so wrong...I MEAN--"

X3 Yeah. I love that guy, he's been at every single con I've ever gone to <3

And at another time we met and hugged yet again and then we talked about the filler episode which had Neji wearing the green suit and were all laughing about it...Then someone took our picture >_> WHICH I WANT! Please. T_T.

Oh and then when we were in the Cosplay Contest thingy waiting for my friends mom to see when Itachi was going to get out a Lee walks up and told me to look in his pocket to see how much money he had because he was lazy and I was all "...I dont think so...Because then I might see things that are not meant to be seen" Or something like that. X3 That was funny. I should have hugged him.

Then that night there was the yaoi photoshoot I had with mah Gaara XD Since that was a request from a friend and she helped undress me.*GASP* Not really. She took the bandages off...And then Itachis roommates walked in and they were all 'WOAH!'

Hmn. Thats all I can remember for now..I'll post more if I remember it XD *Love and peace's AND DOUGHNUTS out.*

This is pathetic....We're cracking up over a sadistic BIRD...

My buddies and I were debating how much porn is actually associated with the word Hentai so all four of us got two doujin each! After the trip to the Dealer's Room to buy Yaoi doujin in my amassed group we returned to our room to "read" them.... I was pleased to find that out of the two I got one was.... yaoi porn! Unfortunately that meant that everyone and their sister was trying to steal it.... So I hid it!

Later that day we had a lovely bi boy and his lady friend wander into our room along with our Envy, Lust, and Sanji. Our Lust wanted to look at my doujin and when I wouldn't reveal the location she ran out onto the balcony overseeing the pool around 1-2pm and yelled,"Wheres my porn!?!" At the top of her lungs.... She ran to the bathroom to escape my wrath... Our Sanji and Envy went out onto the balcony and found out that the pool was filled with tiny children.... Very scary! They started yelling up to us to do something funny so Envy killed Sanji and pushed him into a chair Lust ran out and asked if he had passed out I told her to go look and Envy killed her too! Envy waved me out onto the patio and I waved to the tiny children before being killed. The children and their parents cheered and we all got up and took a bow!

(Note: Any killing was purely fake and was done with a duct tape blade arm!)

Crud that was long!
Secrety secrets!

Oh well. XD  Anywho!

Well... my name is Chris.

*shifty eyes*  I... didn't expect you to find that post. LOL XDXDXD

But I've found you! *does a little jig*  Ok, yar, I'm done XD

I know I didn't talk to you or anything, but you were totally awesome xD Rock - Rock on, Chris!   8)

So many things I could mention.. I'll go with what happened at the end. As me and my friend were heading out of the convention the last day on our way home we saw Chris formerly of Bakazoku out at the lobby and we waved bye to him and somehow it ended up with him just hugging both of us. So as we were leaving I was like, "Well that was unexpected." My friend was like, "I think he's so tired he doesn't know or care who he hugs anymore." But I figured he was just spreading the love which isn't anything bad in my book at all.

And I guess it wasn't just me who was hearing the word Yaoi a lot this year then.

This was my first Kumoricon, but my second anime con. I had so much fun on Sunday, runnig around taking pictures of like EVERYBODY. I found that cloud guy who was part of the best in show for skits, and took his picture. Then this sora sitting nearby laughed at him, and I couldn't resist lol, I turned to him and said "What are you laughing at, you're next", and that made him get all huffy. IT was so cute*^-^*. Anyway, that was the cutest groan anyone had ever done around me. I got his picture, and SQUEEEE!! So adorable. I have to say it started out rocky, but got better, which made me happy. I was really hoping to meet more people from the board. And I went to my first ever J-Rock concert! A-Key-Kyo! My friend gave me her ticket as a souvenier 'cause she forgot to go lol.

Just proved how much of a man I look in my Count get-up.
I also got to dance with A-Key-Kyo and got photographed with them as they were like "We want our photo with HIM!".

YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS!

Okay actually you shouldn't. And I'll get around to having an icon, I'm just lazy...

I have one picture of you that one of my friends took, but it is really, REALLY dark. There is another person in who is wearing a costume similar to yours, but it is hard to see. I tried my best to clean it up. Digital cameras are a must from now on.

I was Gaara! My costume was a bit incomplete, planned on building it for Halloween, not the Kumoricon.

Anyway, here is your picture!

Well I was the only one dressed as The Count which made me thrilled. It's nice when people don't all do the same charrie. I think a lot of it is the elaborate details of this costume I wear for the conventions and Halloween. It takes up to two hours for the make-up. xD Gara is cool. I didn't see a lot of him.

My stupid gourd broke the thursday before the convention while I was doing some of the finishing touches. I never got to paint it... or wear it. *cry*

And two hours for putting on the makeup is crazy.

Awww, I'm sorry. My walking stick got some broken  spots and I had to do repairs on that after the convention. I did not take it the 2nd and 3rd day because I had my Haydee with me. (With me in the icon with my signature.) I'll probably take it next year though. The top crown part of it just gets broken easily. -cries-

The head on my gourd came right off, it was pretty say. I was able to put it back together, this time I an reinforcing the neck. If the show Naruto is still as or even more popular next year, I'll do Gaara again for a day! ^_^

It's tough making props on a budget and making em durable.

No kidding. My prop was the second thing I made for my costume. I then made the beard from wig hair, rubber cement and a paper stencil cut out.
I actually got done with my makeup in an hour on one day. xD The more I do it the faster I get.

I spent all of August working on mine. It was an experiment, trying out a paper mache mix that comes in a powder and already has paper fluff clumps mixed in with it, so all you have to do is add water. The stuff works great, just takes forever to dry. I used two balls for the base work for the mache to sit on. It's rough having to be patient with stuff like this.

One hour for all the makeup still sounds crazy, but it all looked good, so it was worth it. ^_^

I think it is sort of disturbing that I was friends with alot of the stalkers.... some of whom I was actually supposed to be supervising so they didn't get to crazy.... like our Reno/Ichigo/Roy who was following Roys, Alucards, and any other Turks she took a liking to... but me and the other adult in our group were wiped out from rescuing our minors for themselves when they ended up buying like 30pds of groceries and didn't get them double bagged so they called from like 10-10:30 just when we were getting ready for bed(mind you they had left at about 9:45pm  ) So we headed over there in our pajamas shirts, shorts, and flipflops and stomped angrily out to get them. They were only supposed to pick up a bottle of water, a bottle of Code Red, some sushi, and some Salsa Doritos..... They came back with two 2gallon bottles of water, a 24 pack of Code Red(You might have seen me chuggin a few in the Opening Ceremonies line...), a tiny little tray of sushi, and a super sized bag of Doritos.... plus 3 bottles of sparkling cider, a can of whip cream, for some obscur reason breakfast hot pockets!  Needless to say it was a pain in the but and that was just the night of Pre-Reg...  :?

I have more crazy stories that my mind remembered after all this time...

Saturday, Hikaru.Maxwell, Bug and myself were running around trying to find people for our skit. (we don't prepare in advance TOO much,) and we found people. ^_^ The Reno/Ichigo/Roy is awesome. I love her...

Anyways, we find people and it's all good. Next morning at the cosplay pre-meet, I forget to make sure that everyone is there. *beats self with stick* Anyways, everyone gets their forms signed and it's time for rehersal! Everyone shows up on time, learns their lines (I only finished writing the script the day before,) and I'm happy. We leave do to our own thing for a little bit. We come back to the cosplay room, and I start hyperventalting... Our Fangirl (Reno) calms me down a little. We're still missing one person. She doesn't end up showing. Made me mad, but oh well.

So, we're waiting to go on stage, and Reno gathers us around in a tight circle, and says very seriously. 'erect nipples.' We bust out laughing and it puts us in a good mood for the skit.

Though we didn't win anything, I still had a blast. I hope that everyone else in the skit had fun too, after getting over my psychoness.

Hey, was your Reno/Ichigo/Roy the one that I got my picture taken with at the dock? And then she hid behind me when she ticked off one too many Edwards? And then went to find another Riza and found out the other was one bossy so she came BACK to hide behind me some more? XD And who I made my friend glomp? Ah, good times. She was great if that's her.

I'm not sure if she went down to docks... she pretty much went nuts once we let her loose! She was the one who chased the Alucard with Squalls gunblade while we were all in line from teh opening ceremonies... I actually got a pic of that... I need to get my pics developed!  :D

Wow...If only I were this popular in highschool! O.O

Yeah, I'll drive up and see you guys sometime when I'm not dead from work.

EDIT: Was learning some Japanese from my neighbor (she's in her 70s I think and moved here from Japan quite a while back) and she was laughing hysterically when she heard me talk about how many people at the con obsess over ramune. Apparently, that was the only soft drink there was back when she was a kid and she thought it was nothing special. Now hearing it's a craze in a little subculture makes her laugh.

I'm a little mystified by this myself.  I can grab a box of Pocky any time I want at the Safeway down the street from me, and most of the other items are similarly easy to obtain, including Ramune.  I wonder how much of the appeal for these things is just based on fetishization of anything from Japan.  I suspect that if I could convince enough people in these forums that rabbit-food pelets were a really popular snack food in Japan, I could sell them by the truck-load to anime-obsessed teenagers.

Ugh, I've already got two degrees and an ass-load of student loans, so no.  But if you think you can make a thesis out of it, go for it!  Actually, you could get actual pet food from Japan, with some kawaii little animals on it and assorted kanji on the packaging and no-one would be the wiser.

This what's currently known as "lifestyle marketing."  I think the distributers of Japanese snacks know a good thing when they see it.  If you can get all those Naruto viewers to associate your snack food with their identity as fans, you're gonna make bank!

How about Fruit roll ups made to look like Naruto head bands, you wear them for a while them eat them and then buy more after you watch the TV adds during the show

This Phenomenon was thoroughly explained in the fifth season story arc of I love Lucy when they went to Paris.

Ricky (Desi Arnaz) refuses to buy Lucy (Lucille Ball) an original French designer gown.  Lucy goes on a hunger strike in order to make Ricky buy her a Jacques Marcel dress.  Terrified that his spouse will starve to death, Ricky finally relents and buys the dress-- only to discover that, throughout Lucy's "strike," Ethel (Vivian Vance) has been smuggling food to her.   By means of revenge, Ricky returns the real dress and commissions the hotel tailor to make a "Marcel original" outfit with a dress, hat and handbag from 2 burlap potato sacks, an ice bucket, and a horse's feedbag.  Lucy and Ethel unwittingly parade through the streets of Paris in their ersatz gowns and with hoity toity attitudes tell any one who looks at them that they are wearing gowns made by Marcel himself -- and instead of making public spectacles of themselves, they emerge as fashion trendsetters and the next week every fashion conscious lady in Paris is wearing a potato sack dress and wearing a ice bucket on the head

You see the same thing in American High Schools, some one will do, say or wear something totally retarded but if they say they saw it on MTV all the kids want to do or wear it and in a few months it becomes to popular it is on MTV

*glomptackleluff* Yay! Where do you work? I'm going to work with my mom tomorrow and that means I'm gonna be in Seaside all day!
Yay!~ Hope you come up soon!

I love Ramune but I didn't realize bow freakishly popular it was when I first had some 5 years ago... My cousins and I were being dragged around a specialty foods store and got to pick an item. We were all really thirsty so we each got a drink. There were drinks from all sorts of different countries and we couldn't read half the labels so we each grabbed a different one and got them... Only my cousin Kelley and I liked our stuff. Mine was something from France and Kel got the Ramune. We ended up sharing and trading off. That was my introduction to Ramune!

The rabbit food idea is intruiging... especially since there is a very high population of anime and Japan obsessed Freshmen and Sophmores at the local high school.... I could design the boxes to appeal to them and sell it among them during their lunch break.... Muahahaha!!!!! j/k! :D

Actually, you could get actual pet food from Japan, with some kawaii little animals on it and assorted kanji on the packaging and no-one would be the wiser.

Actually... *plotting*
What you could do is study the older style of Japanese kanji, the kind they used to write the Tales of Genji, and use that for the packaging.  That way the package is telling the truth about what it is and even those who have studied Japanese would have a hard time figuring it out.

I think the real joke would be in how little effort it would take for this plan to work.  On the flip side, how many people would quit eating pocky if someone started a convincing rumor that it was actually created by Americans and manufactured in Mexico, or something?

I always thought "gentlemen's pocky" meant it was a darker chocolate than women's pocky.  Oh well, I remember seeing the ads for it in Japan and still had no idea what the difference was.

I got kicked in the face and got a second degree concussion. Then had to go to the hospital during closing ceremonies. But other than that, it was a frickin' sweet convention. I loved the dance.

Actually I was really nice to him and gave him good advice. I just got too close to his girlfriend. And then she ended up dumping him at the end of the Con because he was being a jerk. That was the point in which he snapped and kicked me in the face while I was writing down a friends email address^^0...

Anywho. That was my interesting story. Oh and I got hit on by a couple of 14 year olds. Twas kind of creepy seeing as I am 20 and I actually have a nephew who is only a couple of years younger than they were. Luckily I was able to escape. Ninja skills!

While walking to the Mall to get our Shino a Nabeshin Costume, after our Hooters adventure, ((A bunch of Naruto Cosplayers went to Hooters after the Merry-Go-Round, and as Kakashi I got the girls signatures, and a picture with them. A little reluctently)) a lady and her boyfriend((I assume)) came up, and questioned our costumes. ((I was wearing a mask, and whatnot)) Eventually I came to the realization that they were both drunk, and very possibly on other drugs. The thought was made concrete when the woman told me that "In five years, after you fill out, you'll be in PlayBoy for sure!"

Lets just say, that no, I'm not really large, but if I'm not 'filled out' by now, I dun' wanna be!

Also, as an eighteen year old feminist, PlayBoy is not something I aspire for.

>.<
Hmmm what to do next year?

Who saw the SnJ Kakashi?!

Because a bunch of the Naruto Cosplayers had a photo shoot on the carousel in the mall, and decided to go to Hooters afterwards.

I'm morally against Hooters, but was dragged along.
At least I got dinner!

The girls were strangely interested in the whole idea of the con, and wanted to see Sailor Moon costumes. >.<

I'm not sure myself.  Last I checked, the overwhelming majority of the market for yaoi materials, is female.  In Japan, most gay porn is made for and sold to women.  Some authors have speculated that this is because there is no female character to compete with consumers in their fantasies about the characters. Apparently rabid fans become jealous of such competition, fiction or not.

Thats sorta scary getting crazy jealous of an animated chara....*shivers* I happen to like yaoi and yuri equally which is it is something to go "Awww..... so cute..." or to be used to embarrass overly prudish friends.

My con story…gee, it feels so long, yet like yesterday.
Kumoricon was my first ever convention, and let me tell you it was and even more than what I was expecting!  It was a total blast, and I was wishing afterwards that they had Kumoricon every weekend.
I went to get my badge a day early…and let me tell you, I was glad I did.  I thought that line was long, and then I saw the next days`!
First I went to opening ceremonies, which were awesome!  A-Key-Kyo is the best, I tell ya!  And Bakazoku was hilarious!  It was awesome.
I later went to the dealer’s room, which I loved.  I picked up lots of 1-chapter manga comics, an Urusei Yatsura video, and tons of free swag for me and my friends!  Needless to say, I was broke afterwards.  But I had been saving for the con!
I went to the Anime Madlibs next.  They were soooooooooooo fun!  I decided to make one myself, too.  There were lots of yaoi madlibs; and wouldn’t you believe it, I’m still innocent! XD
Then finally the viewing rooms!  I rewatched a few titles, and saw new unlicensed ones (my favorite being Fairy Musketeer.)  But even before that show, my main anime viewing event was none other than…THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA!  I loved that one even more!  It was hilarious, and the first episode was amazing.
While I didn’t cosplay this year, I got lots of awesome pictures.  Some of my favorites were The Count from Gankutsuou and Belldandy from Oh My Goddess.  I hope to cosplay next year!
I met some cool people, too.  One person I talked anime and anime clubs with in the badge line, and one complimented me on my Otaku shirt from Hot Topic.
“Is that shirt from Hot Topic?!”
“Heck yes!”
“High five!”
‘High five’
Overall, my first con was absolutely amazing and wonderful.  It’s a lot more fun to interact with fans in one place then just watching anime by yourself (even if that is very fun, too.)  It was a friendly environment, I had so much fun.  I hope that I will be able to go next year!
Thanks for an awesome con,
CardCaptorConnor-EX.
