Okay. I will be hosting a cosplayer auction off. Ten percent of the proceed will be given to Kumoricon to help them with their funding.

Time: 9-10am on Sunday (people on the list show up 15 minutes early so we can go over the plan)

Place: I will post this when I recieve that information. (I believe it might show up on the schedule)

Other info: You will get to keep all of the money you are sold for except what we give to the convention. You will be required to spend 6 hours with the person who has won you (that's including an hour break and bathroom breaks).

You must be at least 15 years old to participate. However, if you are 18 and over only people in that same category can bid on you. This same rule applies to minors.

Rules for buyers:
1) You are not allowed harass your prize in ANY way that will make them feel uncomfortable.
2) You can't force your prize to do any manual labor. If they volunteer or say it's okay then that is fine.
3) No going to the hotel room alone. You must stay at the convention at all times.
4) Your prize does not have to give out any personal information. E-mail, cell phone number, address, etc.

If I get complaints from any cosplayers, they will be removed from your care. You will not get a refund. You made the choice.

Remember.....this is for fun. Not to find a life mate. So no getting any ideas.

I have put together a pirze basket for the bidder who spends the most at this auction. It has 9 manga. THere is also a second place prize with 2 manga. The manga titles will be given out at the auction...for now it will be a surprise.

Note: If you are a minor, have your parent sign a note of some sort giving you permission to participate.

Just post if you want to join and I will add your name to the list.

It depends on what you mean by "stuff"

As for buying more than one...if we get a lot of people signed up then yes. If not...then you will just have to try to buy a pair being auctioned off.

Okay, I have a couple questions before I give a complete yes.

It's kind of early the 8AM-10am, Is it possible for 9-10?

What are the starting bids? Or can you choose them? How much are you looking for people to bid. If no one bids any higher than $10, %10 of that isn't a lot. And well $10 is hard on your ego.

Will the "spending time" commence right after the auction or will it be a designated time, or the following day?

Will there be parameters for the "Buyers" to keep us corralled, like you can only keep the young ones in certain areas, or the 18+ all over(except for the actual hotel rooms)? Etc?

As far as manual labor, ie. carrying someone around for 6 hrs is impossible for me, as well as me being in cosplay. So will there be some REALLY preset rules to what the "Buyer" can do instead of a vague no sexual or questionable conduct. And I must insist I NEVER want to be touched with a yaoi paddle- EVER :evil:

ping- Okay. I think 9-10 sounds good so I have to to set stuff up. However if you can be there 15 minutes early so we can discuss plans that would be great. I was actually going to gather you all up and ask your opinions on what the starting bids should be. The time you spend with them should start after the auction. Corralled....hmmm. You may have to ellaborate on that one a little more. Carry someone arround. No. I don't think you should be forced to manual labor. If they make you carry a bag that's okay. as for the "corralling", for the younger cosplayers, only a certain area so they can be watched over? Like in the lobby area? The 18+ have roaming privileges to go with their Buyer.

Also the set rules for Buyers? I mean, what can they do? I mean as far as I'm concerned, I'm okay with holding onto their arm and being chaperoned around like a prize. Taking pictures, talking, walking with them, going to have something to eat or drink within the hotel. I'm not okay with personal exchange of info like phone numbers, personal addresses. E-mail eh, maybe. But this isn't a dating service, I'm not looking for anyone.

I dunno, it's your show. It's just how I'd personally feel if my niece or nephew was auctioned off to hang out with someone they didn't know. I'd rather know they are in one large area where everyone can see them.

Well. Since it is a group event and not just my thing. I can take this issue into consideration and make them stay in a highly polulated area. My concern was if they wanted to go to a panel and not a lot of people were attending.

Okay. I got another email from the programming director. She said that she thought this little auction here would be selling cosplay merchandise, not the actual cosplayers and apologized for saying yes then no. So it's a "no" for this year. However, I plan on nagging them until they say yes in the future.

So sorry guys. The auction has been canceled. I'm going to go cry in a corner somewhere for now.....>.>;;;
