I'm not sure how old this series is, but it was the first I'd seen. Record of lodoss war. Not the chronicles of a heroic knight *the sequel*, that was awful.

I suggest Maze, The Slayers series/movies/ova, Hayao Miyazaki films,
Irresponsible Captain Tylor series/ova, Hellsing, You're Under Arrest, Dominion Tank Police and New Dominion Tank Police.

Since you have Urusei Yatsura, I recommend Ranma 1/2!

I'll have a lot more when I think of them.

I would recommend Original Dirty Pair, Macross, not Robotech.
For old ninja anime, Dagger of Kamui, Wrath of the Ninja.

Ayashi no Ceres is a good one too as far as classics go. I was surprised how intense it was compared to what I thought it was going to be like.

One of my favorites and one of the first shojo anime... sentimental journey. Otherwise ruin explorers is a funny older one... perfect blue <3, blue seed is alright.. and there is always 3x3 eyes.. now and then, here and there for a really good drama, but its messed up... umm serial experiments: lain... and night walker, i dun care what people say I liked it... plus BUCK-TICK did the intro song, how cool is that :p
These aren't like really old (most of them from the 90s) but they are ones that have been out for a while that I think are pretty worthy to be watched <3

Legend of Galactic Heroes

A sort of obscure anime that few people seem to have heard of. Its good but is a bit dry for some people's taste I would imagine.
