Death Note & Beck?

I have been hearing the titles Death Note and Beck a lot recently. What are they about?

They're just awesome... that's all you need to know.

lol Seriously, they are two of my favorite titles right now.

Death Note is only available in its manga form atm (live action movie coming out in Japan soon), Beck is available in manga form and I believe the anime recently got licensed for the US.

Rather than trying to sum up the series I'd just suggest doing a google for them both, but basically Death Note is about a kid (Light/Raito) who find the Death Note that belongs to a Shinigami. Anyone who's name is written dies in a fashion that can also be explained in the Death Note...

Beck is about a kid (Koyuki) who basically discovers rock music and decides to learn how to play... I don't really want to say a whole lot more so I don't spoil it, but it has lots of good music and the characters really make the series.

I highly reccomend them both. :-D

Hehe, no problem. I hope you enjoy them.

I'm going to be cosplaying this year as a character from each of those series (Maho and Misa) if that shows you how much I like them. :-D

yeah, two of my favs for sure.

death note is a sick manga series wich is a must read if your into manga in the slightest.

beck was also a great series that you'll have to watch. a lot of great things about that series, like chasing after your dreams no matter what anyone tells you.

Death Note is pure genious. Its deffiantly one of my favorites.
I've heard that the officially released translations really suck, so you might want to try the scanlations they have here:

As for the movie, it came out a few months ago, but of course you can only see it if you are in Japan.

My Icon is of Death note. xD

I'ts so gripping and it's... it's really... amazing. :] I love story telling more than the art but both aspects of the manga are wonderful. It's by the artist who does Hikaru No Go, which I also love.

Thank you! I checked it out and as i'm sure it doesn't surprise you that I have fallen in love...lol. *the fallen in love thing is just my wierd language way of saying it's awsome heh*

BECK is an anime about the forming of a band. Beck is the name of a weird dog in the show. C:


Death Note is sort of, for lack of a better term, a phychological story that messes you up. : D
It's about a kid, Raito, that finds a Shinigami's notebook. You can kill whoever's name you write in it. :D

Though, I watched BECK a long time ago and haven't read Death Note in years, so.

But in any case, I would highly recommend both of these series. They're worth your time. :3
