A shoujo vs. shonen event?
« on: August 16, 2006, 12:40:19 pm »
http://www.tokyopop.com/320.html

Can this be set up?  It's done at other cons and sounds like a hugely lot of fun.

Please excuse if this is already being done.  This is my 1st KumoriCon but have done SakuraCon since 1998. I haven't noticed this game at Sakura, so maybe it can start here?

That sounds like so much fun... I think it would be really awesome to play but it'd take some serious enforcing of the rules... some ninja don't play nice. xD

I'd say it's probably too late to try to organize something like this (16  days and a few hours left), but it does sound like it would be fun.

I think I'm going to see if they'll allow it at Sakura-con next year.

...to get the word out.  Is this one run about the same as the others?  Will there be an opening deal?  Maybe a printout in your con pack?  This s a small con, it would be pretty easy to keep track of it.  So who do you tell about this?

^0^ This tooks so fun! I don't think it's too late... this looks like you can even set it up last minute. The only question is if "someone" is going to do it, or if the con is? If it's a group effort, I'd be glad to type up the rules and we can hand them out at the con as adds. Prizes I think should be organized by the con, and if anyone is interested I've got a good suggestion for what should be inside the barrel if it's a ninja thing. Should someone else make the barrel, maybe a staffer?

! Thats a good idea ! Putting an add in the con pack would work well, but that would mean the whole con would be in play, not just ninja's... COOL!

normaly I don't condone bringing back old threads but Im gonna have to give an exception to this one. Furthermore, why the heck wasn't I told about this?! This is so cool. K-con will definetly be having this in 07.

Now the question is do we just want ninja on ninja action, or something more all encompassing?

Pm me, post, or email programming@kumoricon.org to keep these ideas moving.

What is "this"? Because "How about this..............." is an unacceptable title and I am not going to read the whole linked article to figure it out.

Could there some sort of Tea Cup variant for EGL and Ouran Host Club cosplayers?  That could turn out interesting, though please don't fill the tea cup with tea. ^.^;

I like this idea.

What are usually considered good prizes for this game?

Works for me. Even if it's wildly off at least it's specific.

But would you be on the team of your gender or the team you're cosplaying as?

wait, what if you cosplay shoujo one day, and shounen another? owo... Unless, that is, we do the event all in one day~ (or one different one on each day)

And shounen vs. shoujo'd be much better than the barrel... thing... Since I'm bringing my own barrel and may need to leave it under a table or something~

well... I guess if it was more than one day (like it says to do in the 'directions') you are on the team you're cosplaying as at that time (I know some people like to switch costumes throughout the day so that could be funny too. You would just have to make sure and keep track of your characters and points )
