Making "Cat" Ears
« on: August 02, 2006, 09:23:28 pm »
I'm a little confused on how to go about making Shadow's ears. ^^; They look just like cat ears, except Shadow's appear to be more pointed and thin. (I'm making them out of material, not cardboard or anything.)

Here's some really good pictures:

I'm hoping that someone is more experienced at this, and can give me some good instructions or even a link to a good tuitorial. (Tried Google but didn't find much..)

*waves back* Hello good friend! Definately not using painted foam again. I found the Cosplay.com forum to be very helpful. Found some good tuitorials.  (Doesn't mean that I still wouldn't like some helpful suggestions. ^^)

fimo.

make the shape, and poke some small holes in each side of the ear, then bake the clay so it is hard, then string elastic through the holes to make a headband that wraps your head. I did that for my ears on my neko mimi and it worked perfectly <3

Oh wow, I've never thought of using clay. I'm going to have to look into that. Thanks for the helpful suggestion!

Yeah, Model Magic's some good clay like stuff too.  It's light and airdries (which can be good or bad)  it's easy to paint, but can be mean to ya sometimes and not stick or stretch or bend the way you want it to when you're molding it >.> but it's cheap, so you can mess up a few times.
I be known as Teep(et)(lhw) in various places of the internet, you might know me?
