Samurai Helmet of the Pocky Shogun
« on: July 21, 2006, 10:06:40 am »
OK, some of you may have heard of my "pocky armor" project that I'm trying to make in time for the con. It's probably going to end up pretty sad but I'm still working on it. One thing that will help make it cool is a samurai helmet.

Do any of you guys know a good way to make an imitiation samurai helmet? I am willing to strap something to my head, I just need to know where to start. Most bike helmets and hardhats are too big and I don't have a convenient costume shop to buy a little plastic skullcap helm at.

Any suggestions?

The easiest way would probably be a combo of craft foam and styrene over it, or if you don't care how it looks, just craft foam itself, maybe some cardboard underneath to stiffen it up. A good guide for the former style can be found here
