Another special Evangelion thing??

Wazzup homie dudets,
I was surfing around Yahoo Japan when I saw some sort of ad thing for Neon Genesis Evangelion.  Naturally, I clicked it.  I was led to http://eva.yahoo.co.jp (see a Google translation here.)  While I can't read Japanese, you guys might be able to!  Please tell me what this page is all about!

Well by what my puter isn't too bitchy about to trnslate, I pretty much get the the main part is about the series its self (History, pictures, about its popularity) I'll be able to get more out of it when I get to school again tomorrow.

I can't gather too much out of it (no Japanese text translator on my computer) but I have a feeling it has something to do with one of the 10 year milestones that Gainax advertised.

I COULD have gotten all the information I needed to answer this but my favorite Evangelion forum is down right now.

In Japan they're still releasing figurines of Asuka and Rei in probably everything imaginable: Cat girl form, in a bathtub, brown-shading for that old photo affect, school displays... and these are the ones I've really seen.

Evangelion is still heavily marketed and from what I can gather, it's still a very valuable franchise. Gainax is set for life thanks to Evangelion. And yeah, I've gotten some of them cool Asuka figurines... I love my sleepy time Asuka. Too bad I'm paranoid to take her out of the box. Evangelion does grace like, everything... Magazines, comics/mangas, video games, figurines, cards, etc.

I got the figure of the giant black evil robot thing.  I got it for $1 when Planet of sand shrunk their floor space and had a close out table.  The next day I saw it at ECC for $40.  I have still never taken it out of the packege either allthough i have no idea if it is worth any thing
