GUNBLADE....BELTS...HELP!
« on: April 04, 2006, 08:55:01 pm »
I've looked long and hard for a gunblade and the right belts that go around the waste for squall and I CAN'T seem to find them for my life >_<.  The belts I'm not as concerned about because the ones I have seem squallish, but the gunblade, I don't feel like using my 3 inch gunblade that's part of my necklace.  Any help would be appreciated ^^'.

Well, first off, nice to meet you! ^_^ I'm Victoria!

Hooy, I've never made weapons before, but I suggest you find alot of reference pictures of gunblades and look at them. Is there any materials in your house you could use to make a gunblade?

http://amethyst-angel.com/cosplay.html

Secondly, here, this is a site I found before Halloween, when I searching for reference pictures to do Vincent Valentine's glove. Check out the tutorials to see if there is anything that could help you when making your gunblade - see if they did anything with swords that you could adapt for your own project.

Also, they do commissons! ^^ Maybe you could take a look at that.

Ano, and the belts? Well, is there any thrift shops around? Those are the greatest things for cosplayers, I think. If you see a belt that looks Squall-ish, grab it, even if it's the wrong color! YOu could always paint it, touch it up. If one belt as a right kind of buckle Squall has, buy it and piece things together! Go for it, Squall Leonheart!

*Gives you a Poky box* Luck to you! And I hope I can get to know you better!

I dunno...So um...Yeah...My friend makes pretty good gunblades too. I'm helping him. ^^ We're trying to get them thr right size, functionable, right metals, right designs...It has to be perfect!! ><

Alas I can have only one Patty-Won Learner and it shall be Aayla Secura.

And besides I have not been to Idaho since Nazis bought my Grand Dad's farm and blew up all the classic cars my dad had wrecked as a kid

I think every thing I have pictures of is my half a$$ed crap.  I keep missing getting pictures of all the good stuff.  I made 2 sets of roman armour and sandles for a church pagent and my camera batteries died and no one at the church knows of any one who got pictures.  For halloween I made an outfit just like Brad pit in troy and the guy ran out wearing it as soon as it was done to go to a halloween party.  I often tell my self I need to get oictures before I do this or that and forget

wow I can't believe I have so many replies already XD.  Well the $50 idea, I'd rather not go to unless needed.  Also, I would like to know, can I bring a large metal sword there ^^'.  I saw only a plastic one last year, the person had the sword perfect and the belts were perfect >_<.  Also, Vondan those belts that were advertised were not the ones I'm looking for under costumes, but as for costume leathercraft I would be itnerested in your prices, I'd prefer to not spend much but if I can finally get a job, or if I get an extensive birthday check from my aunt as usual ^^', I probly won't hesitate to buy unless the prices go absolutely beyond what I'm willing to pay.  Anyway, thanks for the help ^^, didn't think I'd get help so early =D

those were just Eggzamples of what I have done.  I can do any thng if you send me enough pictures.  As far as prices to compare, the Fancy Rapier belt pictured on my site is $40 to $60 depending on how many buckel straps

would it be allowed at the con??? .... and just how much would it cost? I was thinking about attempting it myself, because it didn't look too difficult, but how good are you with making weapons?

I have two ideas.  One version would be made from metal pipe i'd find at the scrap yard and foam motor cross handle bar foam.  The nerf version would be made from Foam Pipe insalation and or water noodles.    The metal one they would only let you pose with for picturres,  the nerf one would be safe to play with.    Unless i find the perfect parts I probebly cant make one that telescops.  I wish I could find My real spring kosh to take apart and study, as it's a copy of an OSS weapon it's just black and a bit shoter then reno's rod.   I have been looking all over my work shop  I found a rare D&D book, the Imperial Unicorn, my throwing knives and and two axes I made in College metal shop but no Spring Kosh.

Here is a picture of what the real WW2 ones look like

ready to buy ^_^

I'm ready to buy a gunblade plastic preferred so I don't have to lug around anything to heavy or anything that'll break easily.  I'm wondering if I can get an offer on price and do alittle talking first.  Otherwise, I'm ready to buy ^_^.
