Bah! It wasn't original called "The Glomp Hall." Man... I should write an essay on the history of K-Con's sign holders and present my own panel about it. Hm... That doesn't sound half bad.

I've yet to be glomped and so help me, I'd rather not. I've gotten hugs, tons of them... Kisses too... Ah... The time I got kissed right infront of my girlfriend... And she was more pissed off that I got hugged than when a girl kissed me on the cheek... Good times.

Side note about the glomp signs, guys... there's rules regarding signs and solicitations in the policies, and if any signs violate those policies even a little bit, they will be removed.

Yes, I know most of them are harmless. You can blame the few idiots who misuse the signs and their intents for ruining it for the rest of them.

I also want to add the sort of unofficial rule on glomping...

You MUST ask permission first before doing so, atleast when you do it with a complete stranger. I heard about this last year from someone and I thought it was a good idea. Believe it or not, not everyone likes to have a complete stranger maul them in a hug.

And if I catch ANYONE breaking the sign rule I'm going to recruit wandering nomad warlord from the 10th century AD to beat them with a licorice rope.

Meh, it started back in K-Con 2k4. There was this one guy who was trying to market it off of the success that the first wave of sign people had (seriously, when I "kissed" the Blacksmith back at K-Con 2k4, no less than 50 people were around us and made cat calls, then took pictures... Glad I had my mask on.) So he had a sign that said he'd give kisses for like... A buck or something. He got quite a few kisses before K-Con officials stepped in... I don't remember what happened to him after that but I do believe he got kicked out... Could be wrong.

OMG... Kcon last year... there were a bunch of people from North High School in Salem doing something on anime conventions for their senior project. It was so amusing.
(Senior Project is a project you have to work on all four years and present around a 8-10 minute speech in order to graduate. North is the only school in Salem that does that)

Glomping is fun. I remember at the last Kcon someone did a flying glomp at someone in front of me and they both fell down. The best part was the glompee was holding a video camera and recorded everything. ^_^

Don't worry about whether or not you'll get glomped. It just happens. I was surprised when people asked me the first time at the Kcon 05.

Oh yeah, and Neko_chan, you're no longer the youngest person on the forum. ^_^

I'm much to old for you to be talking to, in fact I just found out I’m about 4 months older then the creator of Sailor Moon (but damn she is taken). In my case all the friends my age that do watch anime they just want to watch it and maybe have an action figure on the desk and that’s it. No talk about it or thinking about costumes and attending events, actually my best friend is a girl and she thinks anime is only for perverts but she still followed me to a TUNAC meeting and peeked in the window for an hour. I get the desire to go to the con as much from being a theater major and getting back into costumes and there are few geek events in Oregon.

And "never Been Glomped" is the new title for the third movie about Anime I’m writing as a staring vehicle for drew barrymore.

And and please no leap glomping; with my leg I have enough trouble falling over when toddlers and puppies get under foot. And I looked really stupid at a kids birthday party when I showed up as Han Solo and I got a group glomp (not that they knew what it is called) from five 7 year olds in Jedi robes, luckily being glomped from all sides kept me from falling over.

But that was all the action at the party, no one else wanted to dress up or work on a skit. I was the only adult who showed up in costume. A Few weeks before I had seen some girls from our area dressed in Star Wars outfits on Cosplay Lab and when I suggested to my friend Nanny G we could hire them for her nephews party she slugged me in the stomach so that was the end of that idea.

I, myself, have never been glomped either and hope to keep it that way. Well, I have, but not by a stranger. It's nice that people like you, but if I got glomped in my Tifa outfit that would have sucked because I would have fallen over and I was wearing a short skirt- you get the picture. However, I don't mind hugs/kisses, as long as they are innocent. And glompage will be okay if I brace myself for it- I'm kind of unsteady, so please warn me if you're taking a running leap onto me. I mean, not that you would- I feel I'm pretty but not pretty enough for that, you know?

I will glomp/hug/kiss people if they let me. I haven't asked to glomp anyone though, so perhaps that should be a goal of mine this year- glomp at least one person (laugh). Soooo, watch out everyone!
