Is anyone planning on doing death note besides me? I'm going as L...I have no raito to be chained to...poor L...I might just settle for a chibi. I've got the chain made...it's awesome... I know in the manga L only wore one outfit, but I'm going to spice him up. Hell yeah....let's make L hotter than he already is ne? yeah!

So let me know who's going as deathnote yeah? Yeah!

I was L for Sakuracon...well sorta i had a white shirt and blue pants and i have a habit of sitting like him normally(he does not sit like a monkey ><)
so a couple of my female friends attacked me with black eyeliner but nobody really noticed cause besides being a good looking anime character he's got nothing in the cosplay to make him stand out ><

My adive for anyone who cosplays as L... you have to walk like him, hold things like him, sit like him, have a big stare at things, dark eyeliner, and your hair is like the biggest thing that can tip people off.

Then you will probably be well smaller than me and Light if that's any comfort. (I wouldn't wear a belly shirt) ^_^

I will probably wear the costume a lot. Was planning on wearing it Sunday for the cosplay contest. Basically I will probably wear it whenever I'm not doing Ouran or PoT. Its such a comfy costume, so it'll probably be my default costume. I mean seriously, jeans and a white shirt. ^_^

Sounds like it could be fun!

It's just an issue of deciding on a time.
Looking at the schedule I think 2pm Saturday would probably work for most people (judging by what else is going on and giving time for people to get there).

Any thoughts?

When we were talking about it, I thought we decided we were going to do it Sunday since that's the biggest day, and it was our favorite costume? Though if it's a problem for everyone, I guess I could do it for a while on Saturday. It'll be an easy one to change into for me.

That sounds fine to me, I'll try and make it, though I'm not sure whether or not I'll be in costume as Near then. The costume I'm wearing saturday is annoying to take on and off, plus I'll be wearing makeup and stuff, but we'll see.

And everyone, just forget the whole Sunday thing I was talking about. We'll probably do our own little photoshoot, and if anyone else wants to show up, then they can.

It's SO comfortable.

Unfortunately, where I went only had extra large white long sleeve shirts, so it's a bit big, but SO comfortable. <3

I only had one person know I was Misa. :cry: and she only figured out who I was because she thought my autograph book was a lazy man's take on a death note. I ran into other Death Note cosplayers and when I saw other Misas, I'd point and make a fuss over them...Very few of them seemed to realise why I was making a fuss. One poor Misa got made fun of by her Light for not figuring it out.

There's a lot of barefoot characters out there who have to have something on during the con because of the hotel.

I suggest buying a pair of black* flipflops and stepping out of them quickly for any photo ops. That way you're following the rules, and when you are barefoot you're not actually walking anywhere and you can see what you're stepping on first.

*any color would work, but c'mon, we're talking Death Note cosplay here.

All you Ls out there, be very careful! It's much harder to perch on a folwing chair than a normal chair!

I really want to cosplay as L for a day this year.. But I don't know. @_@ It seems like Death Note is going to be the big cosplay choice this year, and I'm not used to seeing other people cosplaying the same character as I am. XD But I would still really like to!

After a little bit of debating, I've finally decided to cosplay as a female Matt instead of L. =3 I love L, but his costume is just too simple for me. I like how Matt's outfit is more complex than L's, yet still not flashy.

I've recently gotten really excited because my change jar that is my "con fund" is almost full X3 even though It's mostly pennies I'm still proud ^.^ I've never filled it up before, I always spend it >_<

I need to start reading deathnote again, I lost the will to read after vol 7. And even though I read through vol. 9...my heart wasn't in it anymore :'C

Not to put too much of a damper on people's fun, but remember that the hotel has a NO BARE FEET rule... so if you're cosplaying "L", you do have to wear shoes.

Yeah, sorry, but them's the rules.

silly idea : I've seen some slippers that look like bare feet (but they have nice thick soles and therefore "count" as footwear), and those could function OK for "L". Of course, the ones I'm thinking of would have to be shaved since they're "hobbit feet"... but just a suggestion... :wink:
