well anywho this was brought up in another thread so why not give it its own! well I know kylite and myself love laser tag and well it has been a while for many of us myself being like 5 years. so maybe we can try to arrange a big ol lasertag showdown! if your intrested please post on here saying good places we should try to go and kylite just to say about the crowd info don't worry with waffles around hehe

Ultrazone >.> It's pretty much the only really good place. Bullwinkle's laser tag is... Not that good. And that's where I met Kylite was Ultrazone, he and I use to go pretty much weekly. Also, make sure it's a Friday, since Ultrazone still has their "Friday Night Frenzy" deal going on.

I don't know if I can attend if it's this week... I'm going to be without money until possibly the week after, not to mention there is already an Avalon Wunderland meet up the day after.

And Kylite knows how dangerous I can be at Laser Tag, if I get the ball rolling (since Ultrazone changed the gameplay a bit) I'll p0wn most people here.

Here in The Eugene/Springfield/Gleenwood Try City area laser tag or paint ball places spring up ware ever a grocery store goes out of bussiness.

When i was young we did not have lazers we had to shoot eachother with BB Guns loaded with wood matches and watch them FLAME ON when they had a good solid hit. Oh the memories and the scaring!

Back in the days when we could do 2 on 10-20, or the now legendary battle... You, Erin and I vs. The other two teams. It was a good 3 on 26 or something like that... Sure we didn't win, but we took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ^_^

Or the even more epic, you vs. Erin vs. me battle in the rock area. Dude, that was beyond awesome.

Given enough time we probably could. Who knows, maybe the next time is the time we get our groove back. All I know, is that the you vs. Erin vs. me match was amazing, people at first took advantage of us just fighting... But in the end, they just watched. Talk about respect.

If Kylite and I get our groove back, as does Erin (if we're going, we need to bring him) then it'll be the three of us vs. all K-Con attendees ^_^ for one game. Unless, of course, we're stuck on the same team...

Ultrazone operates in 3 teams. each team is 10 people. Red, Yellow, Blue.
The arena is 5500 Square Feet and 2 levels.
there are 6 bases total. 2 of each color
each base is worth 2000 points. (you cant shoot your own)
players are vested up and thusly targeted
chest: 200
back: 100
Shoulders and Gun: 50 (also can be a stunning shot)

During Friday Frenzy the packs are set to unlimited mode, so its all out war. Unlimited ammo and lives. when Ur hit ur pack goes down for 10 seconds, then comes back up.

Rounds last 10-15 minutes depending on how crowded it is.

Current costs are $20 per head for the hours of 8pm-midnight Each Friday.

Okay, curiosity has finally gotten the better of me...

Where is this Ultrazone? If it's nearby I may decide to join in. I'm not that much of a fan with paintball (ahh the stories) but I'm up for laser tag. It's been years since I last played though.

Kylite - I thought each team had upwards to 12 packs to use. That'd mean each team can have 12 players each.

Negima - Mapquest of Ultrazone. That's where it's located, it's in the "Holly Farms Shopping Center." Near a G.I. Joe's, Cascade Ace Hardware, McDonald's, Oak Grove 8 Cinemas etc.

actualy a few times I had to wear snow shoes to HS and I would not take them off inside and I wore them with my goggles

There are a few spots you can hide or stand and be able to shoot people across the arena. That's what I use to do before I started going kamikaze on people and face them head to head.

yeah u were the sniper, erin was the base whore, and I was the floor runner. amazingly our scores were always nearly equal. (till about game 4 or 5 when they begin to gang up on me)

Back in the day maybe, you know me, towards the end I was on the floor constantly... Actually... I think it'd be better to describe me as the "suicidal X on me man." I always went after the groups and took them on, if you can do it right, there's a TON of points to be had there.

My question to you Kylite is... Do you think we'll be rusty? I've a feeling that we might be slow on the first game at most. I mean, it's not something that I see that you really get rusty at.

I was talking to Kylite at the meeting and he said there might be interest in laser tag at Ultra Zone at the next con. If you are not able to rent the Ultra zone for a few hours of K Con and not enough EQ is found to set up a laser tag game outside of Ultra zone, I have a workable substitute. We both thought the kids these days would not be able to handle the pain of being shot with BB guns loaded with nails. So I'm working on a design for a Pocky gun, based on a WW2 mini crossbow called the William Tell Device and powered by old rubber inner tubes. If I can work on the design and enough people make there own you can play Pocky Tag at the con.

There are enough people interested in going to Ultrazone during the convention to merit renting the place out during the convention... Or rent the place out as a Post-K-Con get together?

We were speaking about laser tag during the con (for all of 90 seconds) the details are thin now as it is 6 months away. Any laser tag as part of the con would have to be at Ultra Zone as it would be imposable to get together 40 working laser tag sets. I would assume like any kids party place If UZ could be guarantied something like 50 paying customers the Con might be able to have it for just members for a few hours. And or at any time a gaggle of K Con fans can just show up at once and it would be almost official. Unless I create the pocky gun and no I’m not a pocky club member it's just the closest thing in size to the ammo for a WTD that will break on impact and is well known in anime, I have stoped work on the ramen launcher.

At any time one of you in Portland could call UZ and ask about party rates and bookings. Allthough I will work on the Pocky Gun i'm not into playing laser tag so wont get into the planning of it myself. I move to slow to join LT and I'm gonna be cought up in stuff in the dealer and creations area.

so yeah aa list of people would be great Kylite and I are shooting (chuckles) for 20-30 people if we get more then 30 then we will have longer wait times so 20-30 is what we want also we will try to get this to happen near the con maybe late july to august
