Joe and I will be contacting these unfortunate and patient editors for prize shipping details.
There are some Kumoricon people who should be ashamed that this took so long.
I'm still asking around for the playlist and whether or not the judges selected a Judges' Choice.

SO - at long last:

∙ Best Intensity: Blood and Water

∙ Best Retro: Madoka Nebula

∙ Best Instrumental: Rubble

∙ Best Trailer: Superalloy

∙ Best Comedy: Ship Happens
∙ Best in Show: Ship Happens (2X Winner!!)

Anyways, a very belated bunch of congratulations to the editors.

EDIT: All winning editors have been contacted privately.

Thank you for championing this, especially since you had nothing to do with the 2014 contest!

Can't help you regarding the playlist (as I never saw it) but I was at the judging and I am positive no Judges' Choice was selected.

OK, thank you for the information. Also, you and I had some very productive private commentary about changes for 2015, and I'd like to publicly thank you for your help.

Best,

Re: 2014 AMV CONTEST Winners - Prize Status so far
« Reply #4 on: July 11, 2015, 01:10:48 pm »
OK - I shipped out (4) prize packages to (4) winners today.

The only (2) things left are:

a. One winner is a 2x prize winner, and Kumoricon will be shipping a second prize to that editor directly, and
b. One winner has not returned e-mails so far, so we do not have shipping details.

If we get a response within, say, one more month, then I'll ship another prize based on what I have on hand.
If I get the response too close to to the 2015 con, I'll be busy with that, and we will have to roll up that shipment in with the 2015 winners, which will delay it until mid September at the latest.

If I don't get a response at all, then oh well, we tried & I did my part...

BUT we got most of the logjam broken TODAY. Yay! Prizes! Yay!

We got the last address for (b) above, and the second prize has shipped to the 2X winner.
I picked up the last prize yesterday and shipped it out.

SO - Kumoricon AMV Contest 2014 prizes are ALL DONE. OVER.

The only puzzle piece I think is irretrievably gone is the contest playlist.

Alas.

We want to thank Guy and Joe for all their help in resolving this issue.

We deeply apologize to the fans of our AMV Contest, and in particular, the contest winners from last year.  It took much longer than it should have for prizes to be sent and the creative efforts of the winners to be recognized - that should never have happened.

As long-time Kumoricon fans know, the AMV Contest has been one of the hallmarks of Kumoricon programming.  We greatly value the creativity that goes into our AMV entries from all over the world, and we want to give the contest entries the recognition they deserve.

We regret that the playlist information has been lost.  Steps have been taken, and policies put in place, to minimize the chance that this happens again.  To all our AMV fans and creators, thank you for making this the great event it is.
