Hello everyone.

It is time again for another wondrous and awesome LANIME PARTY in Salem!!

So here is the lowdown:

LANime PARTY

Date and time: October 29th 2pm-midnight

Location: Chemeketa Community College Building 9

COST: FREE to enter and have fun, although to participate in the LAN tourneys, there *might* be a small fee.

What will be happening: LAN gaming (you bring your own computer...), console gaming, manga, anime, HK film, costume contest, tabletop gaming, DDR, YuGiOh!, and probably other stuff I am forgetting!

So, we'll update this thread as we get more info about event schedules, but at this point just mark your calendar and do whatever you can to get down to Salem on Oct 29th for this awesome and *FREE* event.

Directions from Portland to Chemeketa Community College
Take I-5 South towards Salem.
Take exit number 260B for Chemeketa Community College.
Turn left onto Chemawa Road NE.
Turn right onto Portland Road NE.
Turn left onto Lancaster Drive NE.
Turn left onto Cooley Drive NE to enter the Chemeketa Community College campus.

Directions from Eugene to Chemeketa Community College.
Take I-5 North towards Salem.
Take exit number 256 for Chemeketa Community College.
Turn right onto Market Street NE.
Turn left onto Lancaster Drive NE and continue for approximately 2 miles.
Turn right onto Cooley Drive NE to enter the Chemeketa Community College campus.

Well, we are obviously hoping for lots and lots of people. The last one had over 180 people through the door.
This time we haven't had as much time to advertise and get the word out, but hopefully that won't make a difference.
Either way, there should be a good sized crowd. Everyone who was on our mailing list should have gotten an email about it.

OK, just so everyone knows, we will have PRIZES at this FREE event. I know that Irnogs will have the usual BAWLS prizes and other cool swag and I have gotten boxes from ADV and another box from FUNImation on Friday. So, come and have fun and get FREE STUFF!!!

Lots of fun stuff. I will be showing some great Asian gore/horror films and the anime lineup will be cool too.

4:35-6:05: Intruder (one of the roughest of the HK horror/gore roughies)

6:05-7:35: Story of Ricky (yes, you read right. NO ONE should miss this film)

7:35-9:35 : Battle Royale (watch the movie, then read the book)

10:30-11:30: J-POP (the horror!!!

Guspasho and I went to LANime last night, so I thought we should give an update.

This was fun! It was much like a tiny con. About half the people were costumed (including yours truly). There were viewing rooms, a DDR tourey, lots of video games, and I got to see the entirety of Advent Children.

Rarnom tells me there will be a similar event when the next term starts. I plan on trying to coordinate one of our Salem general meetings to coincide. Come for the meeting, stay for the fun. (Not that the meetings aren't fun.

)

Well, most of the entirety. We missed the climax part where apparantly the whole movie is explained due to getting back from the awards late.

It's okay though. I'm sure there are like a billion seeders for Advent Children on bittorrent out there.

Hey I wanted to give a big THANKS to everyone who came out. We had over 100 people come and it was a great time. The next one will be even bigger and better and we'll have it planned more than a week in advance... :oops:
