Kyoukai no Kanata (Beyond the Boundary) Cosplay
« on: November 11, 2013, 08:02:54 pm »
Anyone going to be cosplaying from this series for Kumoricon 2014? I already started on my Mitsuki cosplay. This is a very popular anime right now, so I assme there will be cosplayers for it by this con..It's only 6 episodes in (Comes out every wednesday), but it's already a big hit.

Anyway, as I said, I started my Mitsuki cosplay. It's the ever (seemingly anyway) popular Idol Outfit from episode 6. Since it came out only less then a week ago, you'd think not many people would be cosplaying it already, but all the people wanting to cosplay seem to want to do these outfits now haha Anyway, anyone?

EDIT:
Also, here's my cosplay page for my Mitsuki Nase Idol Outfit:

I've recently been seriously considering cosplaying as Mirai.

Freaking SWEET lol How are you making it? I've been thinking making a mold and making it full resin is the best look, but I think it would be extremely heavy..

I haven't put a lot of thought into it yet. I'm not the best at making things so for now I'm not really sure ヾ(´・ ・`。)ノ”

Oh..lol Well then, I can only imagine how it'll turn out. When you figure a way out that isn't freaking heavy as crap (like my idea) please share.

I found this really great tutorial that I think I might try out once I get money for materials  and such

Ah the Spray Insulation foam method. Good choice. The only think I see that's not that great about anything but resin, is that it really won't have the "liquid" look her sword has. Like if you freeze thick red liquid..Almost like jell-o..Is there a way to make solid objects look like that? Or do you even care? I mean I can understand sacrificing that look so that you can actually have something. I just more want ideas for my own cosplay later..I do plan on cosplaying her at some point..I realize my posts seem like I dogging your ideas or something..I don't mean them too, It's all for my own future purposes, I think any method you choose should still look great and I would love to see the final sword!!

I also noticed you got a coscom tutorial..You a member there?
If you want here's me:

Also, there's a thread going on at that site for this anime/Light Novel:

Not sure if you posted there or not, but in case you haven't..

That's what I was afraid of. I do want it to look as authentic as possible, but again I'm not really good at making things and I'm pretty new to making props so I'm actually really enjoying your inputs~

Well, that's good to know haha At least I don't sound like a jerk haha Glad you understand my point ^_^

Anyway, making it look like it's actually made out of blood, the ONLY way, is a hadened liquid. The only hardened liquid that STAYS hardened, is resin..I think there are lighter weight resins that should be good and obviously light, but I have zero experience with resin or casting. Essentially you could make a wooden one (if you have either scrap wood the right size and thickness) and buy the mold making stuff and make a mold to cast it in..Then either get rid of the wood one or sell it..Or keep it I guess..All depends..lol

Will there be a meetup? I was kinda disappointed when I went to Sakuracon and there wasn't a meetup or anything.  :'(
It'd be great if someone could also host a Kyoukai no Kanata panel or something too! It's really a great series and I feel like it's really underappreciated.

Well I can't say much in the way of a panel, but a meet up is basically what this thread is here for. I should still be doing Mitsuki..My friend will be more than likely doing Akihito
