Highlights of KumoriCon 2013
« on: September 03, 2013, 12:04:48 am »
Here it is, the "Highlights" thread for KumoriCon 2013.
---
-Took part in the Game Show Panel, playing the 1980s game show version of Scrabble. I lost.
- Played Beat the Geeks. Lost that, too.
- Saw both Whose Line panels, the 18+ and all ages. One of my scenes from a hat in the all ages version got played (It was "If the Whose Line cast won the lottery.")
- Attended a few VA panels. That was fun, as well.
- Got to meet a bunch of great people.
- Headed to Portland for some Voodoo Doughnut. And I even confessed my love for Portland.
- Cards Against KumoriCon (Humanity) was a blast! Some crazy answers were seen in it.
- Ran my own panel, a version of the game show Password. It was so funny, one of my celebs got confused over the word 'carafe'! XD

- Got to be in Cosplay Chess as Reno, and got all the way across the board and became a Queen! (Drag queen, as everyone is pointing out XD). Also dual-weilding an EMR and a lightsaber, which just made me so happy. <3
-Got to see a BUNCH of people I hadn't seen in FOREVER, and that made me really happy. <3 I love seeing my friends at con, it's my absolute favorite part about Kumoricon.
- I got to be on the Kingdom Hearts Unlocked panel as Roxas, which was great. All I did was sit up there and make silly comments, but it was really fun. XD
That's about it. I would have done more but there were some dumb things I had to deal with during the con. Hopefully next year I can do more stuff.
Kumoricon 2013:
Reno - FFVII Advent Children
Secret Police Kaito - Vocaloid
My Mayor - Animal Crossing New Leaf

Way too many to name, but list as much as I can.

Acting in-character in my Edgar Figaro (Final Fantasy 6) cosplay on girls who commented me on my Hetalia tag necklace (which was on Flirty, featuring a chibi France).
Winning first prize in the Team Haberkorn Jeopardy game.
Meeting the voice actor guests.
The Team Haberkorn dinner.
The awesome vendors in A.A.
The Voice Actor On Voice Actor panel.
Christopher Sabat's DBZ panel.
A Todd And His Phone.
Bringing Anime Christmas back to Kumoricon, where it started along with the enjoyment everyone had.
Some of the epic discussions that went on at Anime Debate, along with some of the stories from Once Upon an Anime.
The Anime Court panel. It was flat-out awesome and they need to bring it back.

I'll post more later on.

Eating at Little Italy's.
The chicken bacon sandwiches at Subway.
Todd Haberkorn making the Team Haberkorn dinner and all the fun everyone had. It's not every day that you get to meet a professional voice actor while working at a restaurant.
The Show and Tell panel.
Cassandra Lee Morris Sword Art panel.

This was by far, my best time at this convention and I'm very excited that it's going to be four days next year.

Please bear with me. My list might be long.

- Seeing the karaoke contest. (Miku Hatsune won, on her birthday. And, I jammed on my air guitar.)
- Seeing a couple Todd Haberkorn panels. (Todd needs to come back.)
- Making Death The Kid wilt.
- Pissing off Edward Elric. (He wouldn't be so short, if he drank his milk.)
- Seeing the cosplay competition. (The chibi Sailor Moon and chibi Jack Frost were adorable.)
- Anime Christmas. (BRING THIS PANEL BACK!!!!!!!!)
- Being in the Cosplay Fashion Show.

I'm sorry my list isn't symmetrical, but I can't think of anything else.

Here's my top ten things (that I can remember):

10 - My "Hetalia" brother was not attacked or harrassed by an ex.
09 - Taking a pic of Ataru and Lum from Urusei Yatsura, along with 2 Ukyos, a Principle Kuno, a Shampoo, and a Ranko, from Ranma 1/2.
08 - Talking with Zachary and David during the dead dog party.
07 - Communications ran well with my manager at the Charity Auction for the first time since 2008.
06 - Despite a low turnout for my comedy contest panel, there was a great selection of competitors.
05 - Making a butt-load of Rainbow Dash cupcakes!04 - Having photos taken with my con daughter.
03 - The beef stroganoff in the con suite.  (I want that recipe!)

02 - I didn't nick my legs AT ALL while shaving them for my Sailor Neptune cosplay.

And the number one thing for me:
01 - Having my son around for his first-time hometown con.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

- Getting to chat with so many people
- Seeing friends who I haven't seen in ages- Putting a lot more effort into my cosplay this year than previous years and it being a success
- Having my picture taken more times at a con than I can remember
- Doing the fashion show for the first time
- Being a prize on the dating game for the first time
- Attending the KumoriBall for the first time and dancing with people

And I guess I should say hello from Pitch, everyone.

-Meeting David Vincent in my Raymond Vester cosplay.
-Running the Resident Evil Photoshoot; had a lot of fun meeting new people and am planning another one for next year!
-Getting pictures taken of my Lara Croft cosplay at the photobooth. The crew of SeeSpotPrint are always a real treat to have at the con.
-Having a hotel room with a back door at the Red Lion. It made it easier to travel to and from the con by avoiding the crammed elevator.
-Doing more shopping at the vendor's hall than ever before and getting some fantastic stuff!
-Kumoricon Cosplays-

Coming Soon!!

Message me if you're doing similar cosplays and want to meet for photos!

I thought the free drawing and writing room upstairs in the Hilton was really nice. It was great to have a place to relax and sketch with other people for a little bit between panels. :D

The Making Manga panel was great, as was the Nico Nico dance tutorial.

Water stations around the convention space were also really convenient.

I thought KumoriCon was all around really fun this year.
Hmm.. gonna have to find out when I can next go to Kumoricon. Might not be until 2019.
