I recently saw FFAC. Has anyone else seen it? It came out in Japan on Wensday, and already some friends of mine got a hold of it, and subtitled it. It's amazing!! No spoilers will be given.

But, has anyone else seen it? Any opinions on it?

Watched it Tuesday, bloody awesome.  Perhaps we should arrange a screening for folks before and after the November release?

I thought it was awsome too.  There were a couple of things that bugged me, but other than that, it was +3 cool.
er... how do I work the spoiler tags?
I'm pretty sure everyone here who frequantly uses the internet has gotten AC and viewed it.

I had it three hours after it got released on the not. Ironcily, after finishing the DL, the .ssa file subtitled by Jasconius.

I found that awesome, actually. :D

Loved the movie.

From the Bahamut scene, to the Sephiroth scene.

Oh, and I love how the victory music played during the Tifa fight.

I had to pause the movie and laugh it out of my system.

I am weird like that. The plot was awesome, too, IMO.

I heard that Bahamut summoning scene (Just the summoning) took over a hundred dual-xenon processor based PC's a week to render.

Thats a heck of a feat.

Even though I have seen it now, I will buy the DVD. Because to matter how good the quality is on PC, the DVD's quality will always be better. And depending on which file ya got (I got one around 700MB) it may have been re-encoded (The 700MB was re-encoded into Xvid with six passes).

Still, AWESOME movie.

Oh, is there a fansub some place?  Because I took Japanese for a few year and read a synopsis and so had a very, very basic understanding of the movie's plot (Yay for every other word being "mother"), but it would be nice to see exactly what's going on.
OMG SPOILERZ(Highlight to read, yo)

My only complaint was that the movie took its self way, way to seriously.  Like colors?  Remember when people wore something other than black?  Because I do.  Or taking out the Mog doll, even in flashbacks, WTF?  But the ridiculous acrobatics without any apologies to the laws of physics were still fun, to say the least, I just felt like it was trying a little too hard to be the Matrix.

Not to say that I didn't find it overall fabulous.  The Turks were hilarious, Tifa fighting was delicious, and Marlene hiding under Vincent's cape might have been the cutest thing ever.  Kadaj reaching up to take the invisible hand?  So awesome.

Best video-game-to-movie-sequal ever.

Looks like we don't have spoiler tags. That will have to be something for us to try to get.

Until then, you could try to make the font color white like this, so people won't read it unless they really want to, as long as you preface it with a spoiler warning. Or, if you really want to, you could try to figure out the hex code for the background color and put that in the color tags for the text color.

Ok, I did me some hexing, and came up with this;

DCE3E9 is the same color as the background.  Example Cheer up, emo Cloud!

D3DDE4 is close enough that you can't read anything, but you can still see that there is deffinetly something there. You can't see me at all. You can't see me at all. You can't see me at all. You can't see me at all. You can't see me at all. Ok, maybe a little.

I got it using bittorent, but I'm not sure if the board mods are OK with sharing links to piracy sites.  IM me and I'll tell you.

Amazon.com has it, here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000AMJG4Y/qid=1126883081/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-7662264-7238532?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846

Interestingly enough, it says it will be two discs, aswell as it has some of the japanese seiyuu credited.

This leads me to hope it will have japanese dialouge with subtitles.

Which is good, because the movie was specifically rendered to adhere to the japanese language mouth movements.

Which means the dub will be weird.

God I hope Lance Bass isn't Sephiroth (Kingdom Hearts anyone?), and Mandy Moore isn't Aeris (Agaian, Kingdom Hearts).

@Hermisia_kitty
MAY CONTAIN ADVENT CHILDREN SPOILERS; HIGHLIGHT TO READ.
Yeah, it was really weird that the mog doll disappeared. Instead, Cait Sith was riding on Red XIII's back, which was in itself, also weird. Cait Sith didn't even do anything throughout the entire movie. So his appearance was pretty much pointless.

And yes, appearantly the laws of phyisics do not matter in the FFVII world. Either that, or Cloud was at lvl 99 with max stats. >__>;;

I agree with the Marlene thing. She wasn't even scared of Vincent, either. She just waltzed right over and hid. I expected her to stick her tounge out at Cloud and go "Bleh!". Very cute, Marlene, very cute. Also, I noticed Barret wasn't saying "Marlene, Marlene!" every two seconds, like he does in the game. :D

The Turks were comedy relief to the max. I loved how when Reno saw Bahamut he accidently hit Rude in the face, and Rude didn't do anything because he had also seen Bahamut. Or how that sign just fell right on Rude and just falls over. LOL.

Also, when Rude's glasses get crushed, he just pulls out a brand new pair. HOW MANY PAIRS DOES HE CARRY WITH HIM?!?!?

The DVD is on its way to me. I'll be buying the US version when available. I can pick up some of the Japanese so it won't bother me watching it raw. I have a growing collection of raw DVDs from Japan.

Of course I plan to buy it when it comes out in American officially, but until then I don't mind "previewing" the whole thing 5-10 more times. Tifa rawks0rs my sawks0rs. Of course, sometimes they did go a bit far with butchering the laws of physics, but it's good enough I don't care =D

I just watched it. I thought it was good, but it wasnt all I hoped it to be. The things I really liked is you can tell they put alot more effort into the character animation. Alot more realistic and believable subtle gestures that make the characters feel alot less fake. But lots of times the animation just kinda looked off, too little weight, too much smoothing of the movements. But none the less I do think advent children is another stepping stone in this genre of CG and am very glad they did what they did. There will only be more films with this more realistic CG style in the future.

If anyone really, really wants to see the subtitled version and has no way to download stuff. I can let you borrow my copy. But, it does come with instructions on how to get the subtitles to work. Once I see it subtitled, I've only seen it raw, I'll loan it to the first person who asks.

But, to whom ever does borrow it. You have to send it back to me. Because, I'm not waiting around until Sakura-Con or Kumori-Con next year to get it back.
