Anyone else going as a Character from Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica this year?
There was a thread I posted on, but the first post hasn't been updated since before last year's con so I figured that thread was old news.

Food can not be provided by me..I have pretty much ZERO money to use on other people, let alone myself lol anyway, we WILL have music (as you may see when reading this thread). We will not only have the soundtrack, but other similar music as well.

Shoot 1:
Time: 6pm
Date: day 2, Sunday, Sept. 1st. 2013
Location: Clock Tower. Though halfway through, we will have to move because the DRRR group has that location at 6:30

Got my Kyoko cosplay yesterday. Let's just say, even though I'll wear it, I don't like it..It's not good at all..This cosplay is exactly why I hate buying cosplays on sites/ebay (got mine on ebay)

well as i stated before, although not on this thread, we should probably do the shoot at evening or nighttime. Since it will be summer, id say probably around 10. Should give a nice twilight feel to the pics without it being so incredibly late it inconveniences everyone by making them miss lots of sleep.

Honestly, I agree with you, but I 'm not sure how many people want to do a night one. Personally I feel that effact is the best because, as you've mentioned, it's when the anime takes place the most..But as for day, I want to do it on a day where I can wear her all day long, rather then having the kh stuff on the same day where I have to change.

Even though a shoot at night sounds cool, my group and i would be gone by then.

I'd like to have it Saturday, but if not, Sunday would be fine. For time and location, i dont have a specific idea although i am thinking about other photoshoots and how some areas could already be taken or extremely packed. The park area is probably out of the question.

As cool as it WOULD be to take photos at night. I doubt any of us have the proper lighting equipment to make it worth our while, seeing as most flash photgraphy is very unflattering and most people who would want photos will be doing other night panels at the time. I suggest in the day time where people will see, recognize and not be afraid to venture out and find our photo shoot.

A secondary shoot for the ones who want to try late night IS an option though.

Kori, that's too bad, Godess Madoka is way better then the Mahou Shojo version to me. Also, I think her school uniform looks better too. Not to fond of her odd looking Mahou Shojo dress..It just looks weird to me lol Either way I'm sure I will want a Godess picture of you

So everyone, how's day 3? I edited because day 2 isn't a good day for me to hold this. I CAN however, hold the night shoot on day 2 for those that still are wearing there cosplays that day. Then the day one on day 3. Any location ideas too? The only place I really know of is the park..I have a meet on Friday in the rose garden so I don't know anywhere else..any thoughts?

Day three is fine by me but we'd have to do a morning shoot. A lot of people leave around noon on Monday, or so it would seem. I'm pretty sure everyone in my group by me will be leaving no later than 1ish since they have a five hour drive back home.

If we do the night shoot I know an awesome spot that would be really good for pics. For the one at 10, I advise away from the park. Monday will be full of people for Labor day. They do a concert and festival kind of thing so it'll be swamped with normies. If we want to meet at the clock tower, I know a spot that's a bit more open and could work for a Madoka shoot.

Yeah there's this one spot about two blocks from the park. It's got this huge brick wall and at night it has these lights that rotate between colors. It's pretty cool looking and it's a wide open space that might work for the shoot since the park will be taken on day three. It shouldn't be full of people which will be the main thing.

That place looks pretty neat. We can use that area then.

Just an idea, but what if we do both shoots on day 2..I think a lot of people may not show up on day 2..Since we are all still just brainstorming we can throw all the options up. I know I am hitting the SAO shoot with azura (I won't be in SAO cosplay but I want pix) then how about after that. Theirs is at 1pm. If I do this maybe at 5pm for the day one and 9pm for the night one, would people like that? They are far enough apart to stil be on the same day, but the lighing should drastically change by then. And most people cosplay day 2 for the popular stuff like this series. I think we might get a bigger turnout on day 2..And since it's 4hours after SAO, azura, you should have plenty of time to change if you so wish, as well as anyone else in the same boat.

Change the SAO shoot to day one? or this one? I cant change SAO, since a massive majority have said day 2 would be best, and i agree with them. I cant do day one for them either since all the FF and KH shoots are day one. Things are probably best as they are now.

I went ahead and told the shot thread that.
So..Time....Which seems better: 8pm or 9pm? I think 9pm would be slightly darker, meaning the lights will look nicer in that area. But it all depends on when others think seems good.

Yea if you would that would be awesome!! I mean I could easily bring mine then use you're player but if you have one that's fine too. Is it really loud? Like stereo loud? The one I'd bring, my stepdad uses to listen to music at work..He's a Machinist at Beoing..You can imagine how loud that is..He can hear the music over it with this one.

Mine is a blue tooth set up so it'd only work with yours if you have that capability. It gets loud but not super loud anymore. It's getting kinda old so your stepdad's would be better but I'll bring mine just in case.

Yea I'll bring mine. Those set up mainly for Bluetooth are pretty low. I have one from T-Mobile and its really low in volume when connected to anything compared to how loud it was in the store display....

Yeah... Mine was pretty loud at first now it's quieter. In my house on a typical day I can have it on a low setting and it fills the whole house but it seems outside it gets drowned out a lot.

I will do my best to make it to the night shoot. The main issue is my two friends and I are going to be staying with my Grandmother who lives in Vancouver, in which she is providing us with Transportation to and from the convention. By the looks of it you want to do it at 9pm and that will probably be the best. I believe that's when the Kumoriball and Kumori Rave are is on that Sunday night yes?

I have no issue with wearing Mami on Monday and Sunday, or Saturday and Monday, or whatever night you intend on doing. I'm hoping to have two guns to provide for the idea of the picture, but the second one it not a guarantee.

Well, if you CAN it would be awesome, but we all can totally understand reasons not to. It IS a later hour and some people (like yourself) have to get to and from by another person so you have to work around THEIR schedule too lol Though if you DO come, I promise you will have a blast. And I have NO idea when those things are lol So I can't confirm that it overlaps..But we got no other time were I am available for that cosplay. I only have 2 cosplays and my Lolita coord. Lolita is day 0 so I have 2 cosplays the rest of the con.

The main issue is my two friends and I are going to be staying with my Grandmother who lives in Vancouver, in which she is providing us with Transportation to and from the convention. By the looks of it you want to do it at 9pm and that will probably be the best. I believe that's when the Kumoriball and Kumori Rave are is on that Sunday night yes?

I have no issue with wearing Mami on Monday and Sunday, or Saturday and Monday, or whatever night you intend on doing. I'm hoping to have two guns to provide for the idea of the picture, but the second one it not a guarantee.

Actually, my gun is being made by Codykoko cosplay. Since I can't personally craft props. My friend, however, I believe is crafting her own weapons for Erza, so she'll be the one to ask.

My gun is going to be made out of Wood and PVC pipe along with foam as well I believe.

And Now that that persons group won't be coming, there's no Charlotte..Meaning you can;t have your head being bitten off lol Azura will be doing Homura though so he can try to kill you I guess haha I painted and glued up a cap gun for him so he has an actual weapon lol Plus, him having the pistol and you having the shotgun, you can have a pic pointing them at eachother. That would look really kool, and I would want that pic.

Ok I just looked and it looks like that starts at 8. Would anyone be ok with 6pm? I mean that will give you another hours after that to get ready for the ball. It seems (I looked at every post on this thread) that no one has made it specific that they want sunday or money for sure other then one person that said they wouldn't make a night shoot due to not being around that late. HOWEVER none of anyone said anything about sunday NOT having a MSMM Cosplay. So it seems those that are doing this night shoot, are wearing that cosplay all day. SO that means we CAN change the time, since no one seems to need to change except me and my friend (which won't be hard for me, I can't speak for him). So I will move this shoot to 6pm, so that anyone going to the ball (which i know a lot like to) can have a wole hour to get redy after this shoot so they can make the ball in time.

Mmk well I asked them to change it on the photo shoot thread, but after they said they updated, that's the one they didn't change..no idea why..but the person doing the guidebook change it in there at least. So if you see any Madoka cosplayers, try to let any of them know the shoot was changed. Some might not realize it. Thanks
