I know Lolita isn't cosplay, but it doesn't really fit anywhere else lol
So I didn't see a lolita thread..

Last year I am pretty sure that the Portland/Oregon Lolita Tea and Cake Society had a group that met on day zero. I'm not sure what they have planned this year, but I will most likely be sporting some Lolita that day.

I've never been to this con OR the city..So I don't know where we could have this at..But day0 we can all meet for this (I wish more people would post too....

well, a tea party is a hangout of sorts. but this sounds lovely! since i'm hosting a maid cafe at the end of february, i'm gonna have a number of recipes (some of them vegan and gluten free) that i can make.

Hey everyone, So are we for sure planing a Lolita meet-up on Day 0 then? I got these kool little ring things from fred meyer a few weeks back (they are cupcake topers) and since I am bringing cupcakes to go along with my Sweet Lolita coord, I will be passing them out with the cupcakes and so on.

Hey, so....I may be late on day0..I'm trying to figure it out. I have to get a ride from my dad. If I don't get into the AA, I may just go early like on a train or something with my friend (I know you wanted to go early too, we can talk). If we do that we will for sure make it in time. But if I DO get in the AA I need to make sure my dad can bring my stuff..He's taking a vacay down there to his gf's family's house so he will be able to bring that stuff. I guess we will see..

We did have a meetup last year. If you guys want to plan something, go ahead. I don't know if I'll bring Lolita or not to Kumoricon. I'd maybe go to a Day 0 meetup. That's what we are shooting for, yes. I should arrive in the area around 1pm. I'm thinking of having this at maybe 4pm So I have time to unpack (and other's should too). We're planning on having the Kumoricon Fashion show again this year. I believe it will be on Monday. Last year a bunch of Lolitas showed up on stage to show off their outfits.

More then Lolitas are allowed ya know haha I accept anyone, we only say Lolitas because it's what the majority will be there (whoever shows up that is). And it seems 4 works haha No one said no yet so..

By the way, I will have 24 cupcakes, and a box of mixed cookies. The cupcakes will be made by my dad's co-worker (I would kill for these, they are that good haha) and I will have Snickerdoodle and Red Velvet. The 2 best ones she makes lol I will also have sugar cookies (both normal and lemon), chocolate ship, and peanutbutter. No worries about allergies either. I will have them separated so none are touching other flavors.

bagged: White peace, vanilla (x2), peppermint, Bavarian Wildberry

I might have more by then, and I'll try and brew it ahead of time (especially if there is some agreement on which we want to try more). Maybe someone has some portable hot plates or something we could use to make hot water? We'll figure something out! : )

Well, I'm not fond of tea, myself, so I will bring my own drink, but since it IS a tea party, we will obviously need some. I think everyone else's input would tell ya if those are good choices or not. I think you should anyway. I don;t have anything else you need either, so hopefully someone has one..Someone HAS to lol

I think it's because the event was specifically made for the Lolita group on Facebook, so if you're not a member of the group then it won't show up. But we're planning on meeting at Little Italy's Trattoria at 5:00 on Day 0, then go to the park to take photos at dusk. Please let me know if you're not part of the group on Facebook, but are planning on coming, because I think I will need to call ahead to reserve their back patio because our group will be rather large...

No! Go ahead and plan this. If people don't want Italian or don't have the money, or just want to hang out before going to get Italian food, then they can go to yours.

Anyone can plan anything, but I know that a lot of people that do Lolita regularly are on Facebook, and aren't on here, and there didn't seem to be a lot of interest on here (probably why our previous Lolita thread died). So go ahead and plan this, just be aware that the Kcon forums aren't the best way to get word out about a Lolita meetup. If you'd like I can add the information from what you plan to my event page on Facebook?

The gazebo, especially later in the day, is where a lot of homeless people like to hang out. There's a small rose garden about twenty-thirty feet away with benches and a large open cement area if you'd rather use that space.

Since I probably won't be getting into Portland/Vancouver until 1 or 2pm I doubt I'll be able to make it to your tea party as well as the dinner, but I hope you have fun :)

I vote the rose garden. It really is lovely, and it is very close to the gazebo (you can see either from most spots in the park. The fountain would be really fun, too, though! Lots of people like to hang around there, though, so we might get in their way (or vice versa).

So my causal lolita cord I've been working on. Everything I already had, except bought the socks and petticoat and luckily it works well with the skirt so yay! Only main thing is to work on the shirt still. Things not pictured are like my rings, and my small blue parasol. No idea what to do with my hair and makeup though. Any tips? xP

For hair, you could do your normal hair and just curl it..that'd look good with this. Your hair color doesn't clash with the outfit so that's good.

Pretty much. I am sure there are many members on this forum who think lolita is a cosplay. No one on here said it. But I figured I would put it there for people who don't really know what lolita is.

On a side note. I really want to go to this, but I don't want to take off the make-up from my cosplay.

I don't know if anyone will be checking in, but I most likely will not be able to make it tomorrow. The hotel plan fell through, so we have to drive, which changed everything! My lolita plans also fell through, so I never had a dress made, and we decided to do a Disney run. I will likely stop by, and if anyone posts that they want me to bring some tea, I will gladly do it (if I can. It would be cold, of course! Probably just Lipton).
