Evidently he has died and there is an article on him.  He"s been a long time ORYCON attendeee.  An entertainer and musician to the last.

Kirk Reeves is dead!?! My goodness this is horrible news. I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk Reeves at Kumoricon and Orycon. He had so many hopes and dreams. To have all that ability extinguished by suicide, what a waste! May God bless him and keep him safe for all eternity.  :'(
