Whose planning on going? Who are you going as?

I want to go. I'm planning on getting a hotel by myself and driving up there if all works out. I reallly want to go this year, so Ima pre-order my badge and save money for my hotel and gas as we proceed to the Seattle convention <3

Sakura Con is my home con, seeing as I live about twenty minutes away from the convention center. This year, everything depends on how my EMT-B course is laid out and if I'll have time from work and school to go..

Even though I have only cosplayed from ANIMES at both times I went to Sakuracon, I've seen quite a number of non-anime cosplays (considering Sakuracon's freaking HUGE.) so You SHOULD be fine c: (Plus my main cosplay plan is a non-anime cosplay and I'm 100% confident about it.)

Just a note about cosplaying non-anime characters to an Anime convention: Unless stated (which will never happen), the con is welcoming to all types of cosplay as long as they follow the rules. But there will always be those people who think that you're stupid and hate you for being a non-anime character. While there will be plenty who will love you for just cosplaying!

Anywho, I'm hoping to go with my group. Looking at cosplaying from Soul Eater, My Little Pony, Batman and Portal.

I'm a huge maybe for this...I'm planning on going to ECCC which is the beginning of March, so it will highly depend on if I get a steady job and can save up enough soon enough to know if I can afford both.

I'm the one that started the thread for it on the scmb and I was trying for Friday at 1. That's the time it was last year..someone said it usually happens the same runs every year .but since they aren't put on the schedule, It's whatever I guess..

Well, I don't know about 2 shoots..I don't know how that all works..I mean we can try to have another one, but I doubt it..All the final fantasy people going to one won't show up for the other so one of them will be very VERY small

Jason, smaller shoot are sometimes better. Last kcon things got out of hand with the larger shoots. The Silent Hill shoot had 8 people and it was so smooth.

Oh..Yea see, since I don't know how shoots work in this con I can't say much, But I know for SC the FF shoot was pretty big, and usually at teh same time every year because they have a thread up that says what shoots are when, and even though it's not on the schedule, the info booth has the info where they are held and all. So that area (as well as all the other areas) are usually being used at all times so a second one won't fit unless it's an unofficial where it's like out in the park or something

Hey folks on the subject of Sakuracon, an idea of mine for it is a variation of Bedtime Stories. Here's the thing, I need some help. I'm looking for someone who'd be willing to join me as a co-panelist/reader and if possible somebody who knows their way around laptop computers. Since I'm legally blind I think for this it would definitely be wise if I had help from someone with better vision. So, if anyone is interested in joining me as a co-panelist please PM me or let me know here.

Oh and also if anyone going to Sakuracon happens to be a fanfiction or original fiction writer is interested in showing off their work at my panel please let me know. This is like Bedtime Stories but I intend to run more of a tight ship here.

There will be some rules though:

1. PG-13 rated at worst.

2. Nothing that's in the Sakuracon 2013 fanfic contest please. This is out of respect for the contest.

3. Check for spelling and grammar. Nothing makes a story harder to read than bad grammar and spelling.

Please let me know quickly because the due date for submitting panel is midnight January 1st. And you'd be surprised at how fast time goes by.

Since most photoshoots are out in the park across the street they are somewhat unofficial or can easily be mixed up. There was a lack of communication this year where two people planed two different shoots for the same series and they got mixed up.

See when you say "we post them here" itt makes me think you're talking about photoshoots for Kumori..Since I don't know how this con runs shoots I can't say 2 of the same would be bad, but since all of the areas in SC are used ALL the time, it's very difficult..

Hey evryone got an update for you. A good friend of mine from FF.net who happens to live in the Seattle area and is planning to attend Sakuracon has agreed to be my co-panelist the idea I have in mind. However I'm still looking for some good fanfic and original fic writers for my panel.

Oh and there are a couple rules I'm adding.

4. Nothing over a maxiumum of 10 pages please.

5. Send your story as a attachment in doc file form. This is in case the Internet goes kaput.

I've had a hotel spot reserved since last year... but my crew of normal people can't go this year due to baby. I'm hoping I can get some people to room with me, but even though I'm 27 years old my parents are really worried about me rooming with strangers. So we'll see for sure what happens. :/ If I do convince them, I'll have 2-3 spots in the camlin open to people.

As for cosplays, I'm hoping to do Jill Valentine and my Vaporeon if I get to go.

Hey folks I have some more big news for you. The Sakuracon panels board has graciously given me the go ahead for Otaku 25 and older the third. Come one come all Otaku fans 25 and Older. I, Agent of the Divine One, Washougal_Otaku, and Dr. Dave will be looking forward to seeing all of you there. We've got some great discussion topics and I'm going to eb doing something a little different this year. Why not ask them on the sakuracon forums? That seems like a better place to ask staff questions..Seeing as it IS that con..I'd assume they'd say the same..

Ahh, at last my Sakuracon problems have been solved. And i am set to go. ANd I just had a brainstorm for Sakuracon. As well as my usual blog pictures I'm also thinking of making some live recordings to post on Youtube. I got to exppand my horizons in my battle with my Asperger's syndrome.

Sailor-Jeimi genetics is the ultimate game of Russian roulette, you never know what you're going to get. I only found out I had it in...around 2005 but it explains a lot. But I've managed to overcome it.

As for taking some videos of you it all depends on who you'll be at Sakuracon. I'm planning to go as Henry Townsend again and I'm also planning to go as my OC (Original character) David Cardigan from a project I'm working on. If we meet up at Sakuracon I'll tell you all about it. So, what say you?

Oh no, no you misunderstand me. i want cosplays of any anime character. I LOVE cosplay in general. I find it amazing how people love doing it. Cosplay to me is a cultural phenomenon that MUST be studied in an enviroment where folks feel natural. That and the fact I love sseing how anime has come such a long way from when I used to watch repeats of Speed racer on KPTV 12 and laater watched episodes of Robotech on the same said ntwork. And as well as watching the old Force Five animes.

Man I am really getting hyped for this year! I signed up to be staff and I can't wait, it seems like it's going to be so fun! Only worry is that my ovarian cyst will give me trouble while there... I'll just have to bring some pain killers and hope for the best!

I'm waiting on fabric and then I can start finishing my cosplay too! I've had to do an alternate outfit for Vaporeon because the obi on the kimono would probably aggravate the cyst too much. I don't mind though because I am really liking my new costume, it will be more comfortable than a kimono, though maybe less fancy. ^^

Since Sakuracon decided to close down the scmb i thought id tell everyone that cosplay.com has a subforum for Sakuracon here http://www.cosplay.com/forumdisplay.php?f=51 its a good spot to schedule photoshoots or just discuss sakuracon, since we no longer have a spot to do that over there.
