I had lots of fun as John this last year. I gave tons of hugs~
Whatever I decide on for next year whether it be Doc Scratch, Davesprite or whatever I'm pretty sure I'm doing Homestuck again so might as well get a thread going.

It's a year away, but I can already say that once Bec Noir is finished I'll be wearing him to every con.  Starting with Sakuracon, but also for sure at Kumo next year~!  I'm sure I'll have others also~!

might bring back fem!gamzee, but i might also wear roxy, or fem!dirk, or fem!godtier!trickster!john, or calmasis!hussie, or troll!caliborn, but my dream homestuck cosplay right now is tribalstuck!gamzee.

^ i feel like it would come out really well. and i have tons of experience working with organic materials, so i could make everything out of twine, and leather, and naturally derived pigments.

I think, I would probably try to finish my Robot! Aradia for next Kumoricon, and probably bring The Handmaid (if I be her at Sakuracon). I think I definitely want to try and be Terezi again (since I was only as her for a little bit), Fancy Dreamer! Jane (since I dropped that this year due to not finishing her tiara), and maybe Jadsprite, Aranea, and Latula possibly.
I think it would mostly depend on the groups I cosplay with. c:

Ok dont hate like on me..
So Im just getting into homestuck now, and ive decided to Cosplay Karkat... And my my friend who is doing Terezi with me is coming up with some ideas for our plans for kumo next year, so so far we have which is most likely to happen fancy black attire Karkat and fancy white attire Terezi, She really wants to do something along the lines of like Goth loli Karkat and Priince Terezi and Prussia here had a thought of doing Broadways for Karkat Eridan and Terezi.
Im still fairly new to the fandom and all and to be completely honest, im iffy around it alot. But I do like the comic and im going to give it all a try.
 Ya so those are the plans for my Homestuck Cosplay for 2013.

Also on a side note, I know t may sound wierd and stuff but because i got into homestuck no, I really like Voicing Karkat on Omegle~ Like I really like seeing the expressions on peoples faces when I voice for them its really nice on my side~

i'm repainting my horns right now! and looking for a cheap turtleneck that i can stencil his shirt design onto. then i'm gonna look at the halloween stores for skeleton leggings!

and white contacts. also, i'm going to put 'stitches' over my mouth so that i can't talk. essentially, i'm going to be blind and mute, because white contacts don't come in prescriptions.

My husband and I are definitely planning on bringing Mom and Dad back next year.    We had a fantastic time this year, and we can't wait to do it again.

Would anybody be interested in doing another picnic in the park?  It was the high point of the convention for us, and the only downside was that we didn't have enough cake and Martinelli's for all our "children".  (So many cosplayers this year, wow!)  Maybe if we do it again in 2013, we could get more people to bring cake and food and make a big Homestuck potluck party of it?  

EDIT: Come to think of it, maybe we should do a Can Town while we're at it.  ( http://cantownproject.tumblr.com/ )  Imagine if that awesome Mayor cosplayer came back in 2013, too.  A cake-and-snacks picnic before the Saturday shoot, and a Can Town before the Sunday shoot, for example?

everything's been ordered, so i just need to get the leggings, wig, and contacts in the mail.

the only construction that still needs to happen is stenciling the arm bones onto the shirt. THEN IT'LL BE FINISHED!

D'you mind explaining how you got the splotch/drip effect with the yellow? I haven't come up with a good way to do that yet, and yours looks really nice.

omygod that fake blood I made is so gross oh yuck, but it's made out of:
1 cup karo syrup
1 table spoon water
Yellow food coloring
1 table spoon of a darker yellow acrylic paint
I added the paint because the yellow food coloring on it's own was just too bright and not real enough, but it made it so I couldn't put it near my mouth because of the paint. So don't use the paint if you want to have it on your lips or mouth. Other than that, it worked great. It was so gross hahaha. One thing though, it doesn't really dry for a long time. and even 'dry' it's sticky. I had no time to seal anything (my one crime) but I don't know how you'd go about sealing it. To get the drippy effect: well I kind of just stood outside and put some in my hand and like... threw it at myself ;-;
I had 45 mins to get everything on so Yeah, I just grabbed it and poured it on by dipping my fingers in it and putting it where I wanted to drip it. It drips well on it's own.

I figured out my plans for Kumoricon this year. (I have things planned super early this time.)
My friends and I will be doing Calliope, Caliborn and Gamzee with possibly a Lord English, Dead Shuffle Jade and Ace or Felt Suit Dave with a Dead Shuffle Karkat, and Ballgown Dreamer Terezi, Karkat and Gamzee. My cosplay partner and I also be Trickster Jade and Dave, Boxers Terezi and Chair Karkat, and Aranea and Meenah. I'm also going to have a Post-Scratch Trolls Street-tier group. c: (Jeez that's so much Homestuck. ;;;; ) I think I might be Latula at some point..... We might also have a Ms. Paint and Spades Slick running around with us.

Also kit2kit, I think it'd be super cool if you were Clover but Trickster!Jake would be awesome too. c:

Things changed with my friends, especially after Sakura-con. Cherubs are no longer on our list, but we will still be The Dolorosa and The Signless possibly with a Disciple as well. I'm also being Aradiabot hopefully for sure this year. I already have my skirt so I'm definitely going to get her done this year and I may have an Equius, Vriska and possibly Sollux with me.
I also may be God Tier Terezi with a God Tier Karkat (if they can get their outfit done for the con). I'm definitely being some version of Latula because I loved being as her at Sakuracon, even though it was only for the draw meet on day 2 and end of day 3 it was fun skateboarding with my Mituna. <3 Uhmm, oh and I'll also be Kurloz in his cute prince garb for the ball and then in a skeleton kigurumi for the rave. Not everything is for sure yet, but most of it is pretty much set-in-stone. ;;;;;

So I should be doing caliborn, though most likely I'll just be doing his old troll design like how I did at sakuracon.. and I might be running an improv game panel with my friend as callie ohpeee and undyingumbrage


Also, I might be doing trickster jane, but I'm having a bunch of sudden nervous feelings about it. I partially think its because I identify as male, and the other part of me thinks its because I've never cosplayed a female character before, I'd love some opinions on this, because I'm just really getting nervous over the idea of it.


Also I will be bringing dirk, because I LOVE~ cosplaying dirk. I hope to meet some new friends this year, and that I'll be able to fix up dirk a bit. Because I do a pretty casual dirk cosplay- with a black button up and black pants. I'm thinking if I can get my rump to look less feminine I'll work on  making his gas mask along with that outfit before con comes around.


Of course the only way I'm starting to acomplish this is with the foolproof dirkout workout! 50 quck sqats and a good 3 minute wall sit everyday -thrusts and lunges optional for daily dirkout workout.

I want to make the hood itself out of velvet so badly, because I can find a color that fits well, but at the same time I really don't because velvet is a heavy material. Any opinions?

I've made one of my God Tier Jade hoods out of velvet (I flipped it inside out however) and it stayed just fine on my head. c: I also used a bobby pin inside the hood (I had a little hoop for it) to keep it on my head as well just in case. But I normally didn't need it.
I suggest at least trying it, and if it doesn't stay well then do something else. c:

Wow, it's been a long time since I popped around here.
THIS YEAR. Is going to be an exciting year. I'm bringing Dualscar out. In the same car as me is going to be a Redglare, The wonderful summoner from last year who kept falling over in the tall boots, A handmaiden and very possibly a disciple. How we are all going to fit in the car with the props for a twelve hour drive, I do not know.


Other than that, I think I'm Gonna bring Bro back for day zero and to change into when the armor gets too tiring. And maybe something else? I was debating a bit on Brobot, but that one is up in the air. The other things that might happen are Godtier!Jade or possibly a casual Jade for Sunday.

i think the gazebo would work too. ive been to this con twice now, and both times the homestuck photoshoot was in the gazebo and it turned out just fine. i guess we also need to figure out what day we're having the main photoshoot? i think it was on day two last year

I agree, the gazebo is a good place and it's been used before as well.
The main photoshoot is usually always day 2 (with sometimes a side-main photoshoot on day 1 and 3 as well).
So I guess now we should talk about times?

After knowing homestuck for two years, I have never wanted to cosplay from it. But now, I give in because it is SO tempting and SO AMAZING! I will be cosplaying John this year C: (Pokestuck crossover that is, or whatever the hell it'll be called)


Two of my buds are as well going. One is hoping to be FEM!Sollux and the other is hoping to be either FEM!Dave or my Davechu :3

Yeah it is a lot more quiet this year, which makes me kinda sad.
But I heard that there was going to be a panel, not entirely sure about that yet though.
We still need to also finalize times for the homestuck photoshoots.

I think day 2 sounds good. Usually the time is 4:13 at Gazebo but 2 would be fine. Anytime is good with me C:

As for cosplay progress, at the earliest, my hat should arrive tomorrow, so i can get that done once I get it. I am 90% done with the shirt/jacket. Just need to add the final details I need, so everything is going quite well ^^

My friend tj (Josh) Has a homestuck ask panel which should be on saturday
There is a hetastuck panel scheduled for sunday
and me and my friend are running a calliope and caliborn improv game panel. which should be scheduled for monday (Forum thread here [size=78%]https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=17785.msg780032#msg780032[/size] )


The schedule however is not finalized so time's may change. But it looks like there's 3 homestuck related panels being run this year.

I havent posted any progress on here. Today I started making Leprechaun Charm signs to carry around. Also, hopefully I will be able to touch up my vest a bit more since when I made it I made quite a few mistakes but dont tell anyone. shhh

I bought a pair of Necomimi, felt guilty, and decided to cosplay dogtier Jade at the last minute to soothe said guilt.
I'm probably going to look terrible (flared skirts don't really complement my MASSIVE HULKING THIGHS AND HIPS) but I do not care.
Looking forward to seeing all the amazing cosplay! There were some GREAT cosplay last year - I remember one Sollux in particular who was amazing and perfect (I rememer this one person in particular since they also cosplayed a character from D. Gray-man in a beautiful and perfect manner).

Uhm, so the photoshoot on Day 2 (the main one I guess?) was going to be at 2pm. I think we agreed on the Gazebo since that worked nicely last year? However if that's the plan, we'll probably have to move the photoshoot to either 1pm or 4pm because there are already photoshoots happening there from 2pm-3pm/3pm-4pm.

Oh and uhm, also I'm really bad and progress posting. ;;;
However if I can get enough fabric, I'm going to be giving out scalemates on Day 2 while I'm ask Terezi. c:
I'll be pretty easy to spot, because I'll be God Tier Terezi with quite a few other God Tier trolls (so far definitely an Aradia, Karkat, Eridan, and Vriska.)

Also, just a question what is your guys' opinions on fantrolls?
I still am torn on what to cosplay for Day 3, and depending on how I feel/if I am in the cosplay chess my cosplay will vary.
But one of my options was possibly dressing as my fantroll, though I'm really nervous about doing that......
