J Rock / J Pop room for Kumoricon 2006
« on: September 07, 2005, 08:07:25 pm »
Hello Kumoriconians,

Next year I would like to help take charge of a Japanese music room.  We would show music videos and live concerts on a projector.  We have a large database of content and should be able to keep it running for all 3 days.  Our mission is to spread knowledge of the Japanese Artists that we ourselves love so much.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask or coment.

Feel free to visit our own site www.japankore.net

I think Kumoricon was a blast this year.  I just noticed a lack of Japanese Rock / Pop content and we would love to fill that void.

People that would be working on this project:

Mean (Japankore.net site owner)
Physin (Admin / Public Relations)  :D
Cypher ( Admin / Tech)
ShadorWasabi (Mod / Worker)
Mr. Tadakichi (Mod / Worker)  8)

You baka head , i told you to be professional and what did you do? you post it without loging in, oh well but yeah the Con this year was great but there was a lack in the music section.

Japanese music is awesome and we would like to take the time to spread the joy of it in the next Kumoricon, we have lots of Pvs, cds, and a bunch of other good stuff, we just want to spread the love of Dir en grey haha, or morning musume, or any other cool artist that you can come up with.

J-rock,  j-pop, visual kei RULEZ!!!!!!

p.s. did i mention there will be free cds/dvds giveaway if we do get to have a little spot at the next Kumoricon.

Could you guys show up at the next meeting? That is when next year's staff will be decided, and you could approach the head of programming. It sounds good to me.
You'll be loved, you'll be loved, like you never have known. When memories of me will seem more like bad dreams. Just a series of blurs, like I never occurred. Someday, you will be loved.

Yeah i see why not, if not all of us , at least one or two of us will be there for sure, just tell us the date and we'll be there in a flash, i really want to spread the joy of j-music and this is one of the best way to do so, in a convention that is, but not only that we will have the chance to talk to other fans and share our thoughts.

It'll be great *thumbs up*

The general meeting to decide the staff is on Oct 9th. I would like to see you there, and anyone else who loves J music. There is more detail off the main page, as to location of the meeting.

Hi Imari

ShadorWasabi was suppose to do all the contact and all that sort, I will remind him tomorrow about this and we will be at the next meeting, I was just curious, what will happen in the next meeting, do we need to prepare anything for this meeting.

If anyone out there that is a fan of Jrock/Jpop/Visual Kei, or anything related to japanese music then please come and support us, we have a huge selection of PVs and we really do wish to be a part of Kumoricon next year to promote the artists.

Thank you again Imari for all your help

I am going to send a message to Nyco27 and Jamiche about this.  We are still interested and always into spreading the love of Japanese music.

On a side note if anybody has any requests I am pretty sure we either have it or can get it.  So don't be shy.

We should have the official panel sign up sheets available at the next meeting. Nyco will be present as well, so you can let her know what's up.

Beyond registering your panel, you won't have to do much more until the convention. If you like, you can do other things for the convention according to your interests. We really need staff.

On that note, is any of your group into Karaoke?

Thanks for helping us bring J music to the forefront. We had a definate gap in the programming.

Imari,

I am willing to help out in whatever is needed.  I do have a large amount of just plain Japanese Music (You know just Audio).  So if that is needed.  Also have a decent library of Anime but I am sure you have that taken care of.

I think if you heard any of us Karaoke you would prolly die due to head exploding.  But like I said if you need any songs I can prolly get some ready.

As far as other skills Cypher & Physin are very good with computers and programing / web stuff.  Not sure if you have any need for that.

Hmmm not sure what else.  Just know that Japankore.net Team is fully willing to help at Kumoricon!

Oh yes I almost forgot.  Last year we spoke with Emi who has a online manga that rocks (http://www.emi-art.com/twtyh/main.html).  And she was interested in having a Japanese Music Panel.  So I am not sure if you have talked with her at all about that.

That is true, if we do sing you'll probably die so thus we shall not.

Yes our music selection is wide so if you ever need any songs i'm sure we'll have it, japankore.net members are always willing to help in any way in order to help promote the artists and put their names out there.

Another thing that shadorwasabi brought up is Emi, yes i'd like to share jrock/jpop panel with her, if we can get one. she's a great person and we've known each others for at least 2 days, that's character development right there, hehe.

But yup let's help one another and have a great time, KUMORICON RULEZ!!! and good job keeping in contact with the people here ShadorWasabi. Keep up the good work everyone

Before I send a list of Anime to you.  Are there any requirements?  Or are Fansubs and such alright.

Fansubs are okay as long as the title is not licensed domestically... otherwise it needs to be the US release.

Yes!!!!! finally a fan has step forward, thank you, we will do our best to get that panel so that we may play a bunch of Jrock/Visual kei and other jpop stuff, we have over 1000 pvs so if they do let us have a panel or even share, we'll be playing lots and lots of pvs, we also have rare clips.

Sidenote: there will be some sort of contest to win free concert dvds or PVs.

We will surely be at the next meeting also and hope that we'll have a part in next year's convention.

You are move than welcome to hang out and to spread the J-rock love.  I am not 100% sure what we would need help with.  But telling everybody about this stuff and hyping on Japanese music is a good start.

We look forward to seeing you at the room.  And if you have your own video's you can tell us what you have and maybe we do not have it already and could fit it in at some point.

Like Mean said we are still waiting on if we get a room or not!  But things looked pretty good at the last meeting.

ok survey time

what time would be best to play J-rock pv?

and what time would be best to play J-pop pv?

I know all the extreme hardcore stuff will be play after midnight.

Also what type of artist would you like to see?

Who's popular nowadays and who's not?

We are going to play a bunch of PVs for three days so we will have as much artist as possible, this survey is simply to see which would be best to play on which time.

Thank you any help is appreciated

As Mean has said we are now confirmed to have a room for all 3 days of the convention.  Now we will be putting together a schedual for what the programming will look like.

We will try to get all of the main popular groups in.  But also we will be having many groups that you may not know at all.  Please post any group that you might like to see videos of and we will see what we can do.

Thank you everybody for your support.  We really are looking forward to promoting the Japanese artists that we love so much.

Hi superjaz3p, thanks for replying, tell you what, if you show up and come up to one of us and tell us you're superjaz3p, we'll play as much Gackt for you as possible, you'll have so much Gackt that you won't know what to do with it, hehe , actually we'll have a Gackt hour, so why don't you come during that hour then you can just sit back and enjoy it, i might even put two hours or more of him if there's a lot of people there.

I'm not sure about playing the whole concert but there will be some concert, that much you can count on, Gackt is a popular guy so you will see a lot of him and his old time friends Malice Mizer.

We are in the process of making the time list of what is playing when, so once we are done with this list we'll hand it over to Kumoricon personnel so that they may put it on their schedule list.

Enjoy and see you soon, if you have anymore request please do so here.

Visual Kei are so hotness, haha and this coming from a guy, oh well.
Look forward to it, there's lots of Visual Kei group to offer, some of them you guys might not even heard of yet.

Oh yeah just so you know there will be some giveaway, so you might just win Gackt Cd or DVD's.

If you want to do a block of oldschool, y'all should let me know ;)  If you were at Kumoricon 2004 I was the last minute jrock panel gal, and I'm going to try to vend some viskei this year.

Anyway, I have way too much stuff that everyone probably has, but my favourites that never get counted are the oldschool pre-vis new wave stuff like:

the Stalin
the Blue Hearts
Soft Ballet
Dead End
Der Zibet
King Show
Gargoyle
Gastunk
Doom

... etc.

tokyoanubis [at] yahoo if you feel the need to get in touch.

I'm also in Tokyo right now, so if you have any requests for things you'd like to buy at kumoricon, lmk ;)

Hi Shikyo

I'm very please to see that you are interested in this, the play list will be post here once we finalize it.

I too love Diru, please bring as many dvd as you want to, An Cafe is funny i like them a lot, how can you go wrong with Nightmare, Alice nine, and Vidoll.

I think we'll do something like a guest DVD hour for all three days, where anyone can bring their dvd to us and we'll play it, first come first serve type of thing, for example if there's five dvd from five guest then we'll have to divide the time to make it even.

Hi Kouta

Nice to meet you, hai Malice Mizer will be a big hit for sure, if you want to bring it and play well that's fine, as i mention above we will probably make a guest dvd hour type of thing. Thank you for being a cool visual kei/ j-rock fanatic.
