So I've been meaning to get out more, and I live downtown, so I was wondering if anyone out there would want to try and meet up now and then to hit up Ground Kontrol? For those who don't know, Ground Kontrol is a really cool arcade downtown with a bar, and tons of great classic games. It has a fun atmosphere and it's pretty laid back. It's 21+ after 5:00 PM, so anyone can hang out before then as well. I'm making an effort to try and get out and meet more people, because I haven't been doing too great and I intend to change that. So if anyone's interested, please let me know!

Sounds fun! My husband and I also live downtown, and we have been to Ground Kontrol many times. We love finding the nights when all the arcade games are free....

I've only been there twice, and loved it. The second time, I brought my (now) fiancee there, too; she thought it was great.

Depending on when, we'd be in on this, too. For us, Wednesday would be best, but a Tuesday or Thursday would be doable, too; it would just be later, though.

As I recall, they pretty much just had older arcade games, like Street Fighter II, a Pac-Man table, Paperboy, Mortal Kombat, (I think) Tekken 1... stuff like that. I don't think they have too many newer games, if any.

Best bet is to aim for the last Wednesday. Pay only $5 and you can play for free until closing (2 AM), though the 9:00 crowd is always the most packed.

...are you saying the last Wednesday of the month? If so, that might work for us, but I'll have to talk to her about that.

I approve of this message. I can set aside at least ten bucks to get Aaron and I in. i do get paid this Friday so that is even better! <3

I'll also see if I can get another two friends into this, Cutie [the Fem!Romano from this kumo; she just turned 21] and my best freind. The more the merrier, right? Also, if you guys want, I can show this to some of the other Anime members of my club that fall under this age as well.

Alright, this sounds like it'll be go! Now we just gotta agree on a day and an exact time. I have this week until Friday and Saturday off, and typically I work late Sundays and Mondays, with Tuesday and Wednesday letting me out at 5:30.

Okay. If I remember correctly, Chan is wearing a gray-ish "Epic Fail" t-shirt, and has short purple hair and glasses on. I'm a brunette with glasses, wearing blue jeans and a Kumoricon '10 Staff shirt (which is a good gray).

All was fun though I dropped in around 7 and had to roll out by 10. The next two should be on the 15th (third Thursday), and the 28th (last Friday in Dec). They had some new games since I went last and I think a few more light tables.

Either or both of those two days works for me. I opened up with some Star Wars (X-wing), shifted over to kick some Asteroids, then cracked out on Rampart, an old favorite that they didn't have when I went last. I had to bolt to the bus stop to catch the last one to Sherwood. All I can say is: Luigi run good! lol

But I've got some other buddies interested and one was my ride home from another party before, so I'm able to stay until 2 AM this time. Since the upcoming $5 free night is on a Thursday, I don't have to worry about previous engagements, so 5 PM works for me. If we wanted to go on the last Wednesday instead, or in addition, then I'd probably get there around 6:30. The place does get full roughly quick, so if you see a line forming outside, hop in quickly.

It's that time again. If I can't find another way home other than the bus, I'll be hanging there from 5-10 PM. I'll be wearing my lucky Luigi hat and the rest of my cosplay if I can that night. Remember, no large backpacks, but here's hope that small ones can work...in case the coat rack gets full.

It should, especially for a conclusion to the year...before the masses celebrate 3 days later. Also for anyone who's ever been in a line at the con, whether pre-reg or whatnot, GK does have a maximum occupancy which fills up quickly on those nights. So about 6 you may see people start to fall in line outside, and enter on a ____ people leave, ____ people can come in kind of thing.
