My friend BekkaS and I are trying to pull together a Soul Eater panel for this year's con. The theme would be a mock DWMA class with the teachers being Justin Law (me), Dr. Stein (my friend) and possibly more panel leaders if this gets some interest.

There would be themed discussions, Q&A with the teachers and students about the manga and anime (we might also throw in a pop quiz for the students >:D ) , sharing recipies, character popularity contests, and other fun stuff. Discussions would be kept PG-13.

-'Symmetrical drawing' contest
-'Best Reaper Chop' contest

Possible prizes:
Yep, any contest with the '-' mark before it has prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (and overall best for the face making contest). They won't be anything terribly fancy, but they're still awesome!
Overall best face: Excalibur plush
First place: (Maybe) Soul Eater nightcaps made by Chibiorochimaru and one other prize specific to contest/chosen
Second: Chose one item (Keychain/phone charm/necklace/etc.)
Third: Takes a prize from whatever's left after 2nd place winners pick}

Also, anyone in cosplay as a character from Soul Eater can assist with the panel. We would prefer other teachers.. but students, minor characters, and even witches are welcome. We are now accepting two more panel leaders, post if you're interested!

Below is a list of cosplayers who may come/help at the panel. I include anyone who comments saying what character they'll be cosplaying as, but once you're up here doesn't mean you've signed some kind of contract or are required to come and assist.. it's just to keep track of everyone c:

Would it just be the teachers or would characters that are students be able to help contribute? I'm cosplaying as Soul next year, and if students could be part of the show I'd be interested in possibly helping out.

@ Estrife_Sila~ Well if you guys end up doing the panel I'd love to help out. We can do information, talk about the differences between the manga and the anime, a popularity contest, trivia with some possible prizes, etc

@Chibiorochimaru It'd be cool if you were there as Crona, although I think it'd be hilarious if you showed up as Black Star

Only reason I say Chrona is because I'm sure I'll have no voice left from being black star all day xD
We might be able to get away with showing them how to make souls but con says no against bringing food (we had to go through with this for the kuro panel last year)

And have the different characters' interpretation. B/c of course it's more than just collecting 99 souls and a witch's XD Would be interesting. Soul would talk about how you have to be cool while doing it. Kid saying everything has to be symmetrical, etc...

How about a take on the Exalibur song? I had a friend who did that... Instead of Exalibur it was "Kumoricon". We have a song every year and that was this years. Last year it was the Dora the Explorer song >.>

A 'who can make the best face' contest would be an awesome idea
We can have referance pictures of two or three characters' expressions and have people come up and try to make the same face x'D

Any ideas for the prizes? Maybe Soul Eater keychains or something.. idk..

once we figure out the categories and what we need we can figure out what to make/buy.. maybe we could have it so first place winner gets to pick one thing we bought and one thing we made, second gets to pick out of either category, and third takes from whatever's left.. idk.. ouo'

I could make some neckalces or small crafts like that, If I have extra fabric I could so make up a few pairs of Soul eater themed PJ pants (maybe make them black with the diffrent souls patterned on them) or some sleep caps~ I'm also willing to pitch in to buy some keychains or things like that.

Let's get a ton of pillows and make a giant stack, and whoever can make the biggest dent in the stack with a single chop wins. Or we can test it on Spirit if one comes xD

Another idea is who can make the most symmetrical drawing or something with Kid as the judge. Or if we want other panels mad at us we can have a Black Star Shout Off. Ooh, or I(as Soul) can have a coolness contest ^^

Hmm yeah, we'd have to test it because some styrafoam is really hard to break/dent while others are super easy, but I think that could work.

Harvar D. Eclair. Ox's weapon. The character so obscure, the animators forgot he wasn't a generic background character, and accidentally colored him grey.

Alright, the 2012 panel forms are out. Before I submit one for this, I need to know a few things.

Is there anyone willing be a panel leader? You need to be able to meet up with me and the other leaders sometime before the panel (at the con somewhere), be able to answer and ask questions in character for the Q&A, tests, and other panel events, and be on time and reliable. I would prefer somebody cosplaying Spirit, Marie, Medusa (nurse or witch), or Lord Death but I'll accept any help I can get |D

I'll take two for now, comment if you're interested ^^

I also need a Death the Kid to judge the symmetrical drawing contest, a Soul to judge the cool-ness contest, and Spirit, Maka, or Lord Death to judge the Reaper Chop contest.

(For those of you who already said they want to help with the contests/prizes/handouts can you leave a comment letting me know if you're still up for it or not? Thanks!)

I'm not cosplaying any of the characters you'd prefer, but I'd be happy to help

I'm pretty good at staying in character and as you know I cosplay Chrona. I know the character probably won't work for a leader, as it's not a teacher, but I'm willing to help any way I can!
