Seems I'm slowly getting Yuna's wedding dress all sketched out and planned. I hope to start after my mom's surgery is done and when she is more well and recovered.

I found this pic and thought it was a good illustration for you.  Have fun sis.

get three friends and be the four horsemen of the apocalypse.  I think its Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death.  but getting a horse would prove to be difficult I think.

What have I got myself into!!!   :o  I think my cosplay will be heavy.  LOL

Also does anyone have a good method for making your prop look like metal with some aging.  My main prop this year needs to look like metal that had been banged up a bit and used a lot.

Thanks in advance.  Eveofabyss or Zensuke???   :D

A basecoat of your main body color to start with would be good, followed by a mix of green and black acrylic paint. You'd want to really slather that onto all the concave corners and joins, all the cracks and recessed details. Then you wipe at it with a paper towel to take most of the paint away but leave a decent-ish amount in the areas to look like accumulated grime.

After that you dab at the flat open areas with the paint-covered paper towel to leave a patina, and if you've got enough coloration on the thing you're trying to look aged you then take something like silver rub'n'buff and get a very little amount on your finger, then very VERY lightly trace around some of the raised edges to make it look like the paint has been rubbed off at the edge from repeated use/holstering/whatever.

Honestly you just have to do what you think looks good.

If you find a pair that tie up the front and can't find anything suitable make a pleather tube and fit it over the calve of the boot.

I started making some parts for my base. So far so good. I get paid Thursday and plan on getting the wood then. Once I do I will have Zach cut it for me and then I am on my way :D I will need to get some nob thingies, paper clay, string (if not real bass strings) plastic for the four tuners, a switch thingy, and two screws to attach the strap. I'm going to try to make it look as realistic as possible.

Looks like i will be spending Saturday morning traipsing around Red's Trading Post in The Dalles.  This guys place is great for looking for strange prop material.  It's basically a junk yard, and he will just look at the item you are buying and say aahhhhh...$3.50.

I've gotten all the designing/planning for my costume done. I've figured out how to make everything and now I just need to get the stuff, which'll take some time.
I'm working on a human  design of Timcanpy from D.Gray-Man : D
The wings will be fun to make~!
Kumori-con 2013 cosplay plans:
Day zero: Sollux Captor
Day one: Meenah peixes
Day two: Fem! Grand highblood.
Day three: We leave at about 1:30 pm, and it's a long drive home, so no cosplay on day three. Too much make up to take on and off, haha.

After this year's being so involved, I have decided to do an easy cosplay for next year.  I won't get as much love and requests for pictures, but I can take a break :3  While I haven't quite started executing my costume just yet, as I have other things demanding my attention for some weeks yet, I believe I've settled on Fuko from Clannad :)

I just got super excited! I am going to start as soon as possible now that I've figured out what I wanna do. =D haha I've actually only seen one picture of someone cosplaying it on DA. It is from a video game! A fairly well known one too but not anything Square Enix has done =p I'm gonna carry a wrench around hehehe

I spent about 2 hours last night reading armor tutorials and have an idea about how to do all parts of the armor. Still stuck on the sword since the best sounding method is wood or insulation foam, both of which are really messy for a dorm room and require special tools. :/ I might just bother a friend's brother to see if he can make something for me.

I did however, grab the cereal box before my mom took it to the recycling. I think it'll be a good draft piece before I get to work with the real corrugated cardboard and everything else.

The little craft foam pieces that are like 8x11 in size should be really good too as a base ^^ Your only worry would be keeping it's shape, which is why you might want to do a variation of air dry..
I found a good tutorial about it here http://jiajem.com/tutorials/armor/

has anyone ever made a dress form out of an old t-shirt 2 rolls of duct tape and a good friend who won't continue wrapping you in tape to the top of your head?  I think I might have to make one this weekend.  My cosplay will have a unique tactical vest and I don't think I can make it without a dress form.  And lets just face it I'm no pixie so finding a dress form in my size is out of the question.   ;D

Here a few tutorials.  This is such a great idea.  i like the last example, one it's made out of pink tape and two in has a hanger on top instead of a stand.

I got my dressform (a hard one, not squishy, and not adjustable) for $300 shipped on ebay. Trust me, this is a steal for one of these things, and much better for draping a pattern than a squishy one or an adjustable one. Also, I suggest using paper tape rather than duct tape, then you can actually pin into the form without getting sticky stuff all over your pins.

Thanks for the idea.  unfortunately Im poor and have to make mine besides I have a really odd shape.  I will go with the paper tape and see how it works out.
