Sounds like a good plan. Fine sandpaper can be found at Fred Meyer, Lowe's and Home Depot (I was just at Fred Meyer today and saw a big shelf of the stuff. Nifty!).

I pinned my Ice King tunic together, just to see what it would look like and tried everything on.

And I made a new tie for Riddler, to match the color of the ribbon on my hat. Gonna go searching for a new vest and pants tomorrow and get some stuff for both cosplays~

ALL COSPLAY SEWING IS DOOOONE! 8DDDD
Now, it's all technical stuff!
I did an offical test run of Both me and Demony's costumes, and they look pretty good if I do say so myself!
But the thing that became obvious, was that capes, suck.
Hers wont really stay the way I want it to, and mine has a way of staying, but hat's because I don't have a super deep collar, I rally don't know what I could do to fix her cape without tearing it apart, or taking off the top band and making it looser, but if I do that it won't really stay on.
hmmm.

Along with shaving (and waxing...) I still need to tye-dye my shirt, paint my pants, style my pink wig (someone else will do that, though), get my sailor scout uniform patched up (again, someone else), ...I think (and hope) that's it.

Well, two steps forward one step back is the whole of the law.

I need a white tank top for my Ward, ordered a couple through amazon hoping they'd be thick enough to not be transparent. They weren't. They are pretty thin. Thin enough to show chest tattoos that don't look good peeking through clothing. So, back to square one with the top. That's the last bit I need to wrangle for this costume though. At this point it's looking like my options are: find something in store, or make one.

Yeah, I've completely busted apart an old Nokia phone. It will be really awesome if it all comes together in time. I'm really excited about this year's cosplays. I might have a late night or two this week, but it will be worth it in the end!

OUCH.

Hopefully you had some ice ready to stick on your lips.

On the progress side of things, I just put a coat of foamcoat on my harpoon tip. I wrapped it in scotch tape first to give it a bit more shape and structure. Ideally I'll be getting this harpoon completely done in the next couple days.

Why do I always have to cut it so close? lol

Bella's life

ON THE SOUNDY NOTES HERE GOES:
- Fixed my Zelda belt, and fixed up the top of the dress so it stops falling down
- Jigglypuff has a dress, tights, ears, wig, and shoes and is almost 100%
- Ursula needs two more tentacles stuffed and a little extra hair spray in the wig, plus A LOT more in the practicing for make up department, as that make up stuff is kicking me in the butt :/

@Eve : Why not wear two tank tops over each other? It might look weird, but then the tattoos wouldn't be seen, right? Especially if you wore the larger tank over the smaller one.

I would do that except both tanks I have are the same size and pretty tight (it was a pack of two undershirts. For whatever reason I thought they'd be thicker). I need something thicker and looser. I'm going to go look at Value Village and Goodwill tomorrow, and if I don't find anything, I'll just make it (or have my wife make it, more specifically, lol).

I actually finished a week or so ago on most of them, but I got lazy.....

I was able to find almost everything at Goodwill, or things I actually wear everyday. x D

Other Mother [Coraline] -
I still need to find an effective way to keep the buttons on properly. I have some ideas, so with my free time I can do that. Other than that she is doooonnneee~ I think she's actually been done since......before May sometime. Lol.

I figure when I'm tired of being blind I'll just be normal mother. x D

Double [Skullgirls] -
I wanted to just slip this on fast and get it over with. So I apologize for the awkward flipping up on things and what not. But sewing........I did this AALLLLLL. I'm ready to die.

I'm so excited about this year's EotE cosplays

I have a few to get me through the entire weekend (without having to wear the same nasty clothing all weekend), and I get to cosplay WITH my hubby for once! Pix will be fun

And I'm super stoked that you know EotE, Eve/Abyss! It's still fairly new, I know, but it's an awesome series. The phone is integral! We can't have a Takizawa without the phone! Wash, I'd be happy to lend the series to you (or perhaps we need to start an EotE marathon?

. Definitely worth the watch!

As a side note, my building downtown is new and fancy, and there's a voice in the elevator that will tell you which floor you're getting off at and if it's going up or down.. etc. It's a female voice. So every time I go home and it announces "20th floor," I respond with "Thank you, Juiz!"

AS OF TODAY! ALL MY COSPLAY STUFF IS DONNNNEEEE!

I decided I was going to con half way through July! And Since then, I have made 3 costumes, all of which had a much bigger difficulty level! It was very ambitious of me to take this on, but, I'm so happy.
Everything has turned out so well! So many things could have gone wrong, and didn't.
Now all I have to do is get through the next two days for work, and con is on~!

jade dress is finished! now all i need to do is sew the collar onto the jacket, and i'm good to go.

unfortunately, the pieces that i got for fionna were the wrong size, and i didn't have the time to modify them. so fionna is gonna have to wait for another con. at least i got the hat and backpack finished.

I'm now leaving from my waxing appointment. Got my brows, got my arms. We started on my legs, but on the first shin, it hurt so bad that we had to stop. Sometimes it sucks having a Scottish lineage...

Now I'm heading home, where I plan to paint some pants and add a tail, and maybe work on dying my shirt.

After having a mini breakdown all afternoon, I am back on track and things are looking good. Tomorrow morning I will put the last coat of paint on the harpoon, put on some silver leaf for the blade edge, seal it, put on the grip-wrap, and get packing for conland!!!

Me, my sister, and my friend are all, finally, finished with our cosplays, and my sister and I have already packed most of our stuff in the car! (We packed a couple days ago. xD) So, we're ALL READY!!

And my gecko eggs hatched, so I don't have to worry about those while I'm gone. >,>

My sister had to make a last-minute holster for one of her pistols and the other day I had to make Lord Death skulls for the front clips on my suspenders.

Tomorrow we'll be the group of Gil Nightray, Shinra Kishitani, Boris (from Alice and the Country of Hearts), and I'll also have a Rainbow Dash(or an Apple Jack... not sure which one my younger sister is doing) and a Twilight Sparkle with me... a pretty noticeable group!
